Vera Vague (Barbara Jo Allen) was married to my 4th cousin removed Barton Yarborough :) They were only married for like two years. He died a long time ago in 1951 he was my Great Grandpa’s first cousin! My grandpa and Great Uncle knew him when they were young!
The "Laugh Movie" theater on Market Street & McCarter, Newark N.J. would run only comedies (plus an occasional western). On Saturday mornings they had 4 hour matinees of comedy shorts and cartoons. from April, 1948: A STAR STUDDED VARIETY COMEDY SHOW ! * * * Jerry Colona Leon Errol Vera Vague 3 Stooges Willie Howard Shilling & Lane Chico Marx Andy Clyde Donald Duck & many more * * * Musical Treat - Tex Beneke/ Radio's Juvenile Jury - Smart Kids!
Its interesting to see this columbia short and see all three stooges actors we know from years of watching the stooges. Interesting all the columbia shorts has the Mary Had a Little Lamb except the Stooges because this was a public domain song and columbia didnt have to pay a music license
Here's a gag which I'm sure went over the heads of many youtube'rs. The sign on the door reads 'Vague and Vague', which is a take off of ''Haig and Haig', the well known liquor.
I liked this version better than Chase's Calling all Doctors. I like Charley Chase I just didn't think that this story was his best performance he just didn't make it feel real like Vera did. Vera did a better comical performance as the germaphobe than Chase. I did like the other films Chase did though and I did think both Vera and Chase did good in the their own versions of The Wrong Miss Wright. And out of all the Chase shorts I one I like the best is South of the Boudoir, that is his number one best Columbia short.
TheShortsDepartment well thank you very much 👍😎 As a comedian said “ I’ll be here All week “ well to me it’s more like” I’ll be here all week- Oh wait a minute I’m being escorted out by a cop so now it’s’ I’ll be here abou Five seconds!’”

Just discovered Barbara Jo Allen. What a beautiful woman and multi-talented.
She was cute
Very enjoyable
Thank you!
Fauna!!!!!
I had no idea it was her. I have never seen the voice of Fauna and how she looked until I first watched this video last year.
Altho Columbia had repeated many 3 Stooges scripts for their lesser contract players-Vera deserved better!
The Stooges remade shorts from other Columbia Pictures acts in the Shorts Department as well.

It's "shinnying"
Why did the film fade at 13:07?
With
Jack Norton
George Lewis
Christine McIntyre
Was Vera Vague married to Frank Nelson?
Greg, I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. I honestly like the Chase version better.
Not bad.
can't hold a candle to the stooges !
