My Grandfather wore Skin Bracer back when it was in glass. Many great memories. I was close to him and he passed when I was 6...I found him on the day he passed. Therefore while I do like Skin Bracer, I'd rather not ball my eyes out after a shave. Still I loved the review of a Classic.
I love skin bracer! I store mine in a glass bottle and dissolve some menthol crystals in it for an extra kick! My dad used skin bracer and every time I use it the smell reminds me of him👍
Extra kick? Wow! As a side note, a lot of men (and women) have shared in different forums a connection between Skin Bracer and memories of their father. I think that's pretty cool.
Hey CG...this is what started my interest in men's fragrances. When I was a little kid, I would sneak into my great-grandfather's room, he lived with us, and I'd splash some on. lol Skin Bracer, along with Old Spice. I couldn't even grow peach fuzz to shave then but I loved the scent. It did have a brisk, biting and slightly herbal/medicinal profile in the opening but yes, the dry down was good. I haven't smelled newer formulations of this and now that I DO shave, I don't use it but maybe I will buy some. Very nostalgic. Great review, my friend. 💯😁
@@classicalgrooming Of course, you're welcome! Thanks and have a blessed weekend. Much respect to you and the growth and success of this YT channel. 🙏🏽💯😁
I recently got a very large decorative glass bottle of Skin Bracer from a thrift store for $5. It's mostly full and still smells good. I think it's a little better than my impression of what the new stuff in the plastic bottles smells like.
Lucky find! It makes you wonder if it smells a little better because the older formulation is better, or if it's because it's been stored in glass. Anyhow, thanks for contributing to the channel!
Morning... I'm a huge fan of the old school, "Vintage" aftershaves, and I can't believe I've somehow completely forgotten about this one, "By Mennen." Thus - I just now ordered up a bottle on the Amazon Prime. I'm eager to add it to my usual favorites; Old Spice, Aqua Velva - both regular and the "Musk" version, which I think is a real Yankee bargain...!
Mennen skin bracer is really a great product with a great long lasting fragrance to it. Love the product, bought some, and will very shortly buy yet another bottle of it within the future in order to keep it stocked up. Also like Aqua Velva after shave to. Both products are excellent. Yeah, they aren't fancy or extremly expensive, however ttey work, and that's makes the differance.
I love this stuff CG. Always in my rotation. 👍

A beautiful, bittersweet story. Thanks for sharing it with me and the channel.

I have to admit to enjoying this stuff - initially as a teenager!
A very good review that captures the 'esssence'
😲
Of this stuff.
Thanks
😃
Thanks for watching!

I like it also. I purchased a vintage one on eBay years ago. It was in a glass bottle and it came with Mennen speed stick also.
Sounds like quite a find! Thanks for contributing to the channel.

A favorite of mine. My favorite commercial with Jack Palance "I don't need some fancy cologne to tell me I'm a man. I use Skin Bracer."
That top note to me smells like some green plant or something herbal.
Smells like Listerine to me. It's not bad, but not great imo.
