In this conversation I found that we need to have 1. Easy access to information. 2. If we know many languages then we should speak in which the listner is comfortable. 3. Yes! Journalists ( even our own External Affairs Minister is not safe on Twitter ) are not safe as they are in USA, ( see Stephen Colbert criticising Trump ) we need to value journalists and protect them by making Rule of Law more strong. 3. We need to have a thick skin if someone criticizes us we need to find positive things in that and improve. 4. There are lot of positive things about India but many things need to be improved and it is time that we correct ourselves. Any additional thing can be added below
I don't think hiring a hindi translater is much of a deal for NYT, its the least they can do for a large country like india. I think its hilarious. Also, there is something called leverage of one's power and money to influence the wider audience to further one's motives. Critisism should have the same effect/influence on both sides. Even if india/developing countries start criticizing the US on gun laws, black rights, foreign policies, ecological irresponsibility, i doubt it would effect the west in any way. The perception that is built by reports generally lack the backing of good amount of data. They use a small sample size of influencial people(or local biased media) who have no clue about the realities at ground zero. This perception then hurts India economically (tourism, businesses, foreign investments). Also there is a lot of false news about india, which the journalists should be accountable for, but they don't care coz that's their ultimate motive. How is that fair (with power comes great responsibilities).

Very diverse and informative debate, frank did well his job, all the guests give new perspective on India which we needs to improve our image globally by making media more free, making india more inclusive & accessible for women and vulnerable sections
Substantive debates bring out big and clear picture of any issue. It refined the perception we are holding. Hence, we should be open to the dissents. Bringing the perception of foreign journalists honestly put the BIG PICTURE of this topic.
Fantastic debate Frank sir .... It's make feel happy... We all as ratv regular viewer want such a great discussion. & try to make show on global issues with a panel of #foreigners_and_indian as well... Thanks
Why should the PM talk in English? Mr. Narayan you are ignorant of the fact that we have many languages that are better than English in India. Learn another language mate!
better language? are you talking about sanskrit? why aren't you commenting in those better language bdw? or you are using english coz you are comfortable and want more and more people to understand what you want to say.
Aditya Narayan H When was this ever said? He's just asking them to interact personally. To give interviews (Of course they can give interviews in Hindi too. The fact is that, they only want to give scripted interviews). But, there is no need to deviate from the topic.
Aditya Narayan H No he didn't insist on anything else than, that ministers and officials are not interacting. I'm just trying to defend just that. Because all across the comment section there is this emphasis on- "so what if Mrs Swaraj spoke in Hindi." And getting all offended. Whereas that wasn't the actual context of the panelist.
Well said- govt. should be more willing to share their stories. India has got complex situations and it's Govt. and people's job to explain them to global audience in a manner that builds positive 'Brand India'.
Hi Frank , Your program is really good and you are choosing different topic for discussion that is something impressing . I like the way you report FIFA world-cup specially wearing T-Shirt. About today discussion , it was really good . I want to say thanks to your guest which highlight the issue in positive manner. I am working with french people ,they all are so good and honest in there point of view.
Frank you placed India"s view in very right way and we hope our lawmakers will learn something from this discussion. Always love RSTV for such a fruitful discussion. Please keep it up.

We need to acknowledge that there exist a problem with India, western media is not always baised; journalist shot dead, shutting the voice of dissent is not good for democracy it's just making us more polarized.
Show started on India's ranking on various platforms (press, women safety and so on... ) and everyone was discussing the how foreign reporters are feeling in India and language barrier...first time I found show was not to the point analysis! Missing important points - why only India's negative side shown in foreign media, why not China, Singapore and other countries? --why foreign media focusing on the reports on which no one believes? (Most of the reports are published by Americans and British agencies... they are lacking the ground reality, using developed countries criteria for developing countries like India!) -- why foreign media covers more news on religious intolerance and concerning about the safety of minority and women in India? ( other countries much more intolerant than India... and woman safety issue is not only related to India its a global issue then why India....) -- Reports on Refugees --When India said It would deport rohingya... it was completely pictured in negative way without showing the facts... and what about the European countries and USA's stand on Refugees?
King of Knights its true! Rohingya themselves created problem... now entangled in it! But it is the half picture... we cannot blame all Rohingya community ( I mean look at the faces of small kids do they look like armed rebels to any neighbouring nations to Myanmar or to Myanmar itself?) when India took decsion on deportation of Rohingya it was in complete dilemma between humanity and threat to the nation's security... which foreign media misinterpreted as inhuman stance of India. Later on India helped Rohingya's in Bangladesh under 'Opration Insaniyat' as usual foreign media never showed this.
Came to know about the "Real" Frank. The way the foreign journalists managed to respond to Frank's questions itself shows Frank's ability to get the real answers from them. Truly Patriotic Frank...
Jefrey pointed out a strong point that there should be fair access to information then and only then data will be published on the internet and around the world. And Indian media should be more focused on the issues that matters rather than TRPs. After all there's always been bad and good sides.

Undoubtedly anchor Frank is very well experienced journalist as he know only when to be frank that's the beauty and maturity of Indian Media on other contrast foreign journalist seems good maturity by simply admitting that they don't know loud and clear maybe it's most probably we ever expect from any Indian counterparts whether whatever be the matters of discussion going on they must have to say something and they will so it doesn't matter whether they have adequate knowledge or not....
We will speak Hindi only, get a translator. We are 1.3 Billion people, we know our strengths and weakness, we are united and all this negativity won't bring us down. Jai Hind.
It's all about stereotype viewpoint towards India. India is a diverse country where north to south, east to west has immense difference. But we live together. Every country has their own positive negetive things as like India. 1.If women are insecure in India then it's not only in india ,it's all over the world. Carole is also safe here. 2.Coming to hindi language.its our own language. We can't abolish it for foreign media rather we are providing subtitles to understand it in a better way.
And as always Rstv gives us insights from diverse perspectives. We Indians as always must be tolerant enough to take such criticisms and convert it into opportunities to work.

@@Jambudwipvasi The first step towards betterment is accepting weaknesses. I congratulate you on your work of highlighting the negatives of west in form of news,🙏 you should. @@shivanitripathi9115 So you mean foreign journalists are doing whataboutery with us when they know about their own weaknesses. I will surely dig deep into the subject and will leave no stone unturned for that. 🙏
Taking things into perspective - India is world's largest democracy of 1.3 billion people. Today it is transitioning into a developed country. With that said, as a journalist, should I focus on a grand scheme of things or should I focus on an outlier that happened in some corner of the country and provide a selective and a subjective picture about a complex religious and multiple linguistic India? When you do compare, do an apples to apples comparision, please.

Anil Tiwari well said
great.
i think you covered everything.
"Playing with fire"... Just feel the silence when he says it
I am very eagerly waiting for India's journalists to report the negative news about the European and western countries, only negative news is what news is all about after all. Lets bring the negative side of the west to the huge outward looking Indian population. Lets build a perspective of the west based on criticism lets do it! By the way I feel obliged that I do this every day and hence bringing the true value to the term news. Come on people let us all 1.3 billion Indian population highlight the negatives of the west because indeed we people have some expectations from the west.😉
mai har 1 -2 din me yahi search kartaa hu youtube pr 👉 " India in foreign media" ,
Kyu bhai
-ve, -ve, -ve ... Were we a great country in 1947 when we were much poorer($439 per capita), illiterate(12% literacy), no roads , no ports, no electricity, no hospitals .. then hell with such development .. I am getting hysterical here.
Very diverse and informative debate, frank did well his job, all the guests give new perspective on India which we needs to improve our image globally by making media more free, making india more inclusive & accessible for women and vulnerable sections
Great show rstv ...and FRANK looking forward for more such interesting discussions.
Frank ..!! Keep Smiling. u r awsome
The newtork times person was candid and spoke well great. The girl was balanced and answered diplomatically.
Thanks RSTV for awesome Discussion with Distinguish Guests
I have never seen a Putin speaking English, Xi Jinping speaking English, Emanuel Macron speaking English.
sambit jena Does Russia and China gets positive press?
Such wonderfull questions Mr Frank...
Nice interview
Substantive debates bring out big and clear picture of any issue. It refined the perception we are holding. Hence, we should be open to the dissents. Bringing the perception of foreign journalists honestly put the BIG PICTURE of this topic.
Fantastic debate Frank sir .... It's make feel happy... We all as ratv regular viewer want such a great discussion. & try to make show on global issues with a panel of #foreigners_and_indian as well... Thanks
Mr venkat gave a best remade. both pm and opposition leader give interview to world top media.
Doesn't matter if rankings are biased or not..we indians have the responsibility to improve on these indicators.
Why should the PM talk in English? Mr. Narayan you are ignorant of the fact that we have many languages that are better than English in India. Learn another language mate!
Atleast press conference for journalists,,
Samar Shah ,,pm never seen In press conference that's the problem.
john doe ,,it's not about perfect english ,,it's about facing press in india or foreign.
better language? are you talking about sanskrit? why aren't you commenting in those better language bdw? or you are using english coz you are comfortable and want more and more people to understand what you want to say.
Venket narayan loves English. He would love to live in UK.
Venkat Narayan is so smart that he can't learn to undrstand Hindi.
You don't get everything served as you want. #FrustratedNarayan
He's not talking about himself. He's talking about Ministers and other officials interacting with the foreign media.
Snehil Singh He is ok with french president talking in french or putin in Russian.....#Facepalm
Aditya Narayan H When was this ever said? He's just asking them to interact personally. To give interviews (Of course they can give interviews in Hindi too. The fact is that, they only want to give scripted interviews).
But, there is no need to deviate from the topic.
Gargi Thakur when he said sushma swaraj insists on giving foreign briefings in Hindi
Hi Frank ,
Your program is really good and you are choosing different topic for discussion that is something impressing . I like the way you report FIFA world-cup specially wearing T-Shirt. About today discussion , it was really good . I want to say thanks to your guest which highlight the issue in positive manner. I am working with french people ,they all are so good and honest in there point of view.
Amazing discussion!
Great debate, points are kept precisely👍
I like the instant when playing with fire actually created silence in the room😂😂😂
Frank you placed India"s view in very right way and we hope our lawmakers will learn something from this discussion. Always love RSTV for such a fruitful discussion. Please keep it up.

It was a nicely articulated talk.. probably because they were all journalists
Praise 'The big picture' for choosing good topics.
Jefreay and Venkata sir made really good points....very impressed by knowledge which jefreay shared.
Thanks to take this topic as it was some where in general public mind negatively or critically.
Jeffrey was to the point. I really liked his views
(Most of the reports are published by Americans and British agencies... they are lacking the ground reality, using developed countries criteria for developing countries like India!)
-- why foreign media covers more news on religious intolerance and concerning about the safety of minority and women in India?
( other countries much more intolerant than India... and woman safety issue is not only related to India its a global issue then why India....)
-- Reports on Refugees --When India said It would deport rohingya... it was completely pictured in negative way without showing the facts... and what about the European countries and USA's stand on Refugees?
Array of Ocean Well said !
King of Knights its true! Rohingya themselves created problem... now entangled in it! But it is the half picture... we cannot blame all Rohingya community ( I mean look at the faces of small kids do they look like armed rebels to any neighbouring nations to Myanmar or to Myanmar itself?)
when India took decsion on deportation of Rohingya it was in complete dilemma between humanity and threat to the nation's security... which foreign media misinterpreted as inhuman stance of India.
India needs a global media house like CNN or New York times to put forward its views directly to International audience.
Will this video access to PM for some corrections?
Jefrey pointed out a strong point that there should be fair access to information then and only then data will be published on the internet and around the world. And Indian media should be more focused on the issues that matters rather than TRPs.
After all there's always been bad and good sides.
I am very eagerly waiting for India's journalists to report the negative news about the European and western countries, only negative news is what news is all about after all. Rightly said!!!
Thank you so much to rstv for such a nice debate
Please increase the quality of panelist, only Jeffrey is making good points. Rest are struggling to articulate.
Ram Ram Jay Siyaram bhajpa party jindabad Shri Modi Kaka jindabad YogiBaba jindabad jindabad Jay Hind vande Mataram Bharat mata ki Jay dipawali ki hardik shubhkamnaen badhai ho sah parivar
Ideas of these scholars should be implemented in India.
Good debut brother

Dear friends if you think republic abp zee news channel are doing journalism then u are right ;)
One of d best videos of RSTV
Frank you rock it as usual.
Great debate. . ....👍
RSTV 👌
My favorite program and channel look at the way debate is being conducted amazing better than many Indian channels.
Jeffert really puts forward nice points! However, Frank doesn't seem his usual self
I think when sushma swaraj speak in hindi...it is converted into english also.
Too much focus on Hindi is not good. Either allow everyone to speak their mother tongues or brief media in English. Hindi is too over rated. Ideally we should be speaking in Sanaskrit.
People are fearful of sharing their ideas.
countless freedom to press in India costs lives of many more journalists.
Good discussion on a nagative Indian Media special country like India . Indian midia are limited in cities only and close Thier eyes in Villegies . My Thanking to all panels .
Jai Hind.
Please provide "the big picture" in hindi too.
Great point raised by narayan.8:51
And as always Rstv gives us insights from diverse perspectives. We Indians as always must be tolerant enough to take such criticisms and convert it into opportunities to work.

Let's give the west some opportunities to work upon what do you think? Shivani Tripathi
@@Jambudwipvasi The first step towards betterment is accepting weaknesses. I congratulate you on your work of highlighting the negatives of west in form of news,🙏 you should. But for me it's more important to work on my weaknesses not bcz want to prove something to the so called West but definitely to make my country a better place.
I would like to channelise my energy for my country's progress rather than some whataboutery. 😊
@@shivanitripathi9115 So you mean foreign journalists are doing whataboutery with us when they know about their own weaknesses.
And going by your logic , Shouldn't they be working first on their weaknesses and then do whataboutery.
Thanks for congratulating me to show the negatives of the west. I will surely dig deep into the subject and will leave no stone unturned for that. 🙏
Only country in the world where cows and buffalos are safer than humans 😂🤣 😂🤣 😂🤣 😂
Really nice debate
I love this ladies anchor.. So cute
Nah!
I felt this debate could have been better!
Carole... Beautiful panelist ever seen on the BIG Picture
Why can't I see any foreigner commenting in this comment box?
Can we see this video in hindi language?
Any one tell me what is timing of big picture
6:30 pm
Monday to Friday
we should take the criticism in a positive way as kabir das said "निंदक नियरे राखिए, ऑंगन कुटी छवाय, बिन पानी, साबुन बिना, निर्मल करे सुभाय"
