Great pitcher.. I was a Game Day Employee during Cliff's stay in Philly. You knew it was going to be quick night with his pitching efforts. Quick, precise, and lights out! Thx for the memories Cliff!

Cliff Lee absolutely hated the Yankees it seems like that's the team that really fueled him to pitch his best great pitcher when he was on

I love watching this guy pitch, even if he plays for the Phillies. He's one of the best in the league right now that can paint the corners so well. To me he's the best LHP in the league right now.

His curveball looks like it’s in the air for so long but it’s so nasty with that sweeping action.

Yeah, when this guy was on, (which was usually...), the amount of really good hitters he caught watching strike three was the most incredible thing...
He was just so methodically w/ going inside & out, slower to faster velo (& vice versa...)...And it wasn't like the pitches were outside the zone...When hitters had strike three called on them looking...almost every one of them just went & sat down, w/o a word...
(It's like they were left speechless, w/ how he operated)...They often throw the word 'ace' around to describe a good pitcher...This guy was more than an 'ace.' Cliff Lee was a Mozart on the mound, imho...

Dan Uggla always got caught looking and got mad as hell. He was Cliff Lee’s bitch it was hilarious to see how frustrated Lee made him.

Cliff Lee would have fit in well with Boston because of his hatred toward the Yankees

For some reason I’m seeing this in December 2020. Lee was great in his prime. Phils should have gone back to back in 08-09. Oh well.......

Lee is a true Phillie. He would rather be paid less and play for the Phillies then get paid more to play for the Yankees. As bad as the Phillies are doing now I think they will have a few more great seasons in the future

Well, Cliff is now just a memory of this video now from 2013. If he pitches this pitch which is at the 12 and 13 second marks with a grip which across the seams in the exact middle of the baseball with the index and middle fingers together with only his index finger at 12 o'clock is the Cy Young Reverse Curveball and with the middle finger in the same grip is at 12 o'clock it is a Cut Fastball so, with the middle finger and the thumb on the center of the baseball only across the seams is the only true fastball there is. Let's bring you back Cliff.
