Just got a flash back of when I was a kid and rode this. I was in the driver seat with a bunch of people older than me and I just remember feeling so awesome afterwards cause everyone was congratulating me on my good driving.

When I was little, the ride broke down right when Indiana Jones was swinging on the rope when the ball came down. We were stuck there for like 15 minutes. I remember that was so much fun. Great for pictures too. When the ride went back on, the ball came rolling at out, and scared us all half to death. Good memories.

When I was a kid, I went to disneyland a week after 9/11. There were maybe 4 other families at the park. I rode this ride 13 times in a row, non-stop. So much nostalgia
I went the day after 9/11 we were in LA on vacay! And no lines!!!!

ContinuumSpanner they made the lines longer for more people to stand in line and lot lead to much on the outside as lines used to be smaller but lines prevented-traffic outside almost each ride
ContinuumSpanner forbidden journey at universal Orlando was super long
I think it also adds to the theming and helping guests to be immersed even before they get on the ride.

I remember going on this ride three times in one visit, we got lucky enough to get all three of the chambers!
My family and I only got the Chamber of Earthly Riches years ago before the projections, but I still looked into the eyes of Mara. I kinda got scared when the eyes on the face started to glow and flicker and didn’t enjoy the rest of the ride.
I remember when the ride first opened, the line went all the way out the door. It stalled in the middle of the ride. Everyone was like, "is this part of the ride?" lol
That snake freaks me the fuck out every time

I went on this yesterday, it was amazing for the first time! The twists and turns are awesome, I can't describe the feeling when we (my car ) were almost crushed by that Boulder!

I wish this was filmed more recently because the new special effects for this ride are so awesome. The statue in the beginning looks at you then glares and rusts up instead of just shooting a laser out of its eye

Best ride ever. The queue/line/pre-show is as scary as the ride itself. Fantastic.

My parents rode this. I would've ridden it had I gone there now, but I was like 8 at the time. Then again, if we went to California now, we wouldn't go to Disney land. We go to magic mountain, Knotts, discovery kingdom, and great America!

I remember riding this ride once with my older cousins, and I sat in the middle while they sat on either side of me. One was in the driver's seat, and when we got off, my cousin and I jokingly criticized the other cousin's driving skills. Lol, that was fun. ^^
Oh god, the flashbacks! I too have been going here since I was a kid. I have good memories of this ride in particular, and disneyland in general. I love this place. I haven't gone to DL in 4-5 years now. It's time I go back.

I love this ride. I think I went on it before I watched the movies, but I was really young when I went on the ride for the first time and my memory is kind of fuzzy from that time. I remember being scared of that massive snake. I'll admit this, I looked into Mara's eyes and doomed our whole party to a fiery hell of eternal suffering. The last time I went on it the ride broke down, apparently it was because one of those damn selfie sticks was dropped. I hate those stupid things, the mechanic was pretty cool but it was really inconvenient for not just my dad and myself but everyone on the ride. It kind of brought us out of the illusion.

I've been to Walt Disney World 5 times but I have to get to Disneyland at least once just to go on this.
I was on that ride when I was 7 and I was the only one who closed there eyes at the skeleton thingy part and everybody looked at me as if i was weirdo so my dad joined in with me XD

This, besides the ORIGINAL Star Tours, is my favorite Disneyland ride.
I was pretty lucky and went to Disneyland at a time where there were practically NO lines anywhere at the park. (Early Spring 2008). The ambience was downright amazing.
Yet again, I was probably EXTREMELY lucky.
Lucky, for less crowds go when school is in in the fall, practically no one there
I could live in that temple! The line alone gives me more nostalgia than the actual ride lol
I remember when I went on this (last summer) I was so terrfied, because I kept thinking it would fly off the track. The only thing that kept me from dying, was my imagination of how everyone would react.

I watch it after my visits lol. Even if i've ridden on them before, I want to remember as little of it as possible so it can feel fresher and more exciting when I do ride it.
Back in 1988 I went to my friend's final project presentation for graduation at the Pasadena Art Center. One of the other students who was presenting as well had a mockup of a ride he envisioned "Indiana Jones". One of the reviewers was a Disney "Imagineer" (the same one who had worked on the re-design of the "Alice In Wonderland" ride). The ride as presented was a much more elaborate version, with a track that went on forever and suspended above the ground for most of it, twisting and bending in on itself. Nevertheless, I was still shocked when I went to Disneyland in 1992 and saw how the student's vision had been realized.

This ride is wayyyy to awesome! I rode it for the first time last November. Our group got lucky cause we just happened to be there after the ride went through some maintenance, short line! LOL! But after we got out the line got huge real quick! Didn't get to ride it a second time :(

I remember my brother's face the first time we tried to go on this ride. It was so sad because he wasn't tall enough. After a few years of trying and growing, I remember when we went again and he was so excited when he was finally tall enough. So many memories with just one ride :)

Tbh, yesterday when I went, it was my first time going on indiana jones and I didn't know it was gonna be bumpy and yeah. I thought it was gonna be a slow ride about cavemen. Then it was so fast and I was screaming so loud. I couldn’t here myself because the sound was so loud. Then the sharp turn came and I thought I almost flew out but it was just a sharp turn. Lmao.

In 1994, as i was exiting the ride, Ken Griffey Jr. was walking up the exit to go on the ride. Said hi and shook his hand. Really cool, especially being a Mariners fan from Seattle

I just got back from Disneyland; went on this twice. The first time the huge rock didn't roll and both times the idol's eyes were dark. :/ I forgot that they glowed at all and I was like "They should have the eyes glow..." lol. For being one of the most popular rides I'd think they would try a little harder to make sure everything worked properly. I know there's only so much they can do and they can't predict most malfunctions but...just sayin'.
It really depends on what time of day you get on the ride, I suggest you go right when the park opens, and get on it first things, this is when they have less problems and there isn't so many problems. This is a popular ride, and at the end of the night when the line is an hour to two hours long the try to push as many people though as possible. The glowing eyes tend to get over looked towards the end of the night and the boulder because they don't have enough time to reset at the rate the ride is moving. For a better experiences go first thing in the morning when you can walk right on. Any time past 2 pm will most likely have these problems.

There are three different versions depending on which 'door' you go through: Observatory of the Future, Chamber of Earthly Riches, and Fountain of Eternal Youth.
Oh, OK...yeah, that makes sense. I thought you were quoting the over all subtitle.
Now that I think about it, it does ring a bell. It's not something you hear very often but I do believe I've heard or read the 3 separate path's subtitles before....once anyway. (It usually takes more than that for something to stick in my mind, haha!)
Wow u answered my question that I had for the longest time ever. Every time I would go, the ride would be the same. But one time I went on it and at the beginning, after we go though, there were a lot of really cool gems or something all over the walls. And then another time I went though the one from this video.
@@1javixD The ride is actually the same - Disney actually has rotating archway overlays that sit over the entry so that you appear to be going through a different door each time although you're actually entering via the same spot. Once you're inside, the ride's computers "scramble" the effects e.g. which jewels are illuminated, which bird flaps it's wings, so that you get a different ride experience each time. I hope I've explained it clearly enough, I'm not good at describing stuff :-)

No, the gates to the ride: earthly Pleasures, Eternal Youth, and Sight into the Future are the only parts different from each other. The track is the same but those gates change at random making you think you're on a different track when you're not. But depending on which theme you get the dialogue will be changed slightly throughout the ride. The gates are on a revolving track that move between each vehicle making you think there are 3 different tracks.

They had a live thing in disney world where they reenacted scenes from Indiana jones and showed the audience how they pulled off stuff, (like being behind scenes, there where also a bunch of Star Wars characters used lol)
