Anyone here from unhhhh?
Drawfee
@@samdal420 Literally wanted to know how the ride is because of them hahahah
My best friend went to disneyland in 94 when he was a little kid. They saw Michael Jackson while waiting in line for a ride.... Only Michael got to skip ahead of everyone in the line hahaha
That's awesome 😂

U know who I wanna see at Disney
SHAWN MENDES AND CAMILA = shawnmila
Yeah mhm i don't believe you liar
I got to admit I'm not much of a fan of roller coasters but this is one I could go on more than one occasion lol
He new yeti sounds like he's hacking up hair balls! I miss Harold the old yeti. He was scary!
they should have kept the yetis old roar
So there are no really big drops?
Is the monster real or a dressed up man
its an animatronic
it's scary just watching it and rideing it
So there is no big drop?
Man, they should have atleast kept the old one in one of the scenes :/
I been on that ride before
Heuer eye jewelry
Could you guys chill about the roar?? We have these awesome new effects and AA's and all you can focus on is how the roar is different?
Anthony Fins Agreed. It's like watching Batman 89 and only thinking about how stupid it is he can't move his neck in the costume.
I mean, if one roar is better, it is easy enough to change the audio.
@@grantkelly8696 Not really because Batman '89 gets a pass for being older, whereas this Yeti is new.
To people complaining about the new roar, I will admit, I miss the old roar. It was more iconic. But trust me, for those who haven't been on it yet, the yeti itself is 10x scarier. The old one looked like a stationary prop just standing in his little corner, which it was. His body just twisted a little bit at the waist. The new one, the whole body moves, waist, chest, arms, hands, neck, face, lips, eyes. And he looks like he is climbing out of a hole and is about to jump out onto the track and start chasing you.
It was a change to adapt to the new times. Disney does this all the time, the yeti was iconic but aged on this ride so the target is for the new generation, not the old that will miss the classic feel of this ride.
Zac Lynch it's better when you actually go on it
I went on the Matterhorn and it is true. Harold is scary
I felt the old Yeti was scary in the 1990s when I was a kid, but the new effect makes it really feel like he is coming after you. It's more intense.
Nicole Jarel I
Who’s here because of Trixie
I miss the iconic roar of the original yetis. Rather than the weird guttural sound.
You can still hear the original under the new one
Agree! This one sounds more like Springtrap from FNAF 3 than anything else!
Colorado NerdHerd go away. We don't need people like you here
At least the new animatronic more than makes up for it.
Gadget Freehan What's wrong with what Colorado NerdHerd said? The yeti does sound like Springtrap now. You can indeed hear the original roar underneath the new sound effects, but overall it doesn't sound quite as good.
To everyone complaining about the new changes... It could be Frozen!
iMélange Entertainment don't even mention it, the Disney execs might hear you!
I'll stop complaining now 😂
iMélange Entertainment Right?? That could be a giant Olaf instead of a giant Yeti....
***** Ugh. There's already too much Frozen in the parks. It's time for Frozen to thaw out.
*****
Oh, I misread your comment. hahaha. My bad.
This ride looks like it beats the living hell out of you...
+Kyoko Kosplay! This ride beats the crap out of you! I really wish they would add some padding to the bobsleds.
+Kyoko Kosplay! It dose. This is like a ride i went on once and only once lol!
+cutielamerr they have added padding i just went this passed monday
By the time I got off the ride my back was hurting by hitting it on the bumps 😒
bo deflop I just rode it with the new padding, its so much better now!
Lol I can't believe I used to think this was fast
CuriouslyAshley The trains seemed to be mostly empty due to the limited previews it had today.
With train full of large adults, it actually does get some good speed behind it.
CuriouslyAshley Also this is the slower side, the other side is the faster one. So you have on the other one.
CuriouslyAshley Rides sometimes seem faster than they actually are when you're on them, because of all the external stimuli of physically being there and feeling everything. In the same way, motion may feel slower than it really is on video, especially in first-person perspective like this.
CuriouslyAshley True, but that makes it a great kiddie coaster.
They actually had to slower the ride when they made one person go in each seat due to the fact that young children can get hurt by going to fast without an adult to hold them. It use to be fast, but now it medium speed and very jerky.
"Remain seated please. Cinnamon Toast and tacos, pour some more. "
JeNeSaisQuoi Jones Please lay me seven tacos on the floor.

JeNeSaisQuoi Jones lol i feel like i'm laughing WAY to hard
JayDeeBeat 🙌
JeNeSaisQuoi Jones lmao this had me dying man
Man, I am NOT ok with that roar.
Expedition Everest is a way better ride!!!
Austin Smith And to be honest, that new roar wasn't quite so scary.
Austin Smith I miss the old one! It was so haunting

FYI: the original Audio Animatronic of the Abominable Snowman is on display at the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout attraction at Disney’s California Adventure at Disneyland Resort in California.
I really like how in the first scene (after the hill) you see crashed bobsleds (and what looks like an old gondola from the Skyway)! It adds a whole other level within the ride!
BCBoy98 Wish they could bring that old ride back. Oh well.
That actually is gondola from skyway Disney tends to recycle such items
BCBoy98 Yes! I love when Disney does little things like that :D
I've been on the Matterhorn quite a few times, but the last time I went to Disneyland (a few weeks ago) I went on the Matterhorn at night time. As usual I got in the front seat and waited for the ride to start right before the cave. So the ride starts, but for some reason it was going really fast. Like at least 2x its normal speed. It was obvious that something was wrong with the ride because it was going so fast that it actually hurt the way it jerked and slammed on every turn. Once it got to the water part it splashed really hard and I got soaked lol. After the ride I could barely walk and I lost my voice from screaming. Needless to say it was crazy, but also really fun and I kind've wish that the ride was like that every time. I went on again right after that but the ride was back to its normal speed?
Same for me too! We went last week and I knew something was off because it was literally jerking me around to the point where I thought I might hit my head on something. I recorded it and plan to upload it soon but have to put music over all of the screaming I was doing!
oh... so it wasn't supposed to do that...
I don't think so, check out the video i put up when i was there.... i thought i was going to bump my head or get whip flash lol
I think some of the rides speed up at night time. Because space mountain and big thunder mountain are a lot faster too.
HannahPanda36 agreed!
I remember years ago, when riding this ride, if you so much as blinked, you missed the abominable snowman. Now, they've made it impossible to miss him. They almost browbeat you with him, in fact.
Bogmire42 Because he looks freaking amazing.
I feel that this roar might go away like the voice of Mara did in Indiana Jones after people complained that the voice wasn't the original they remembered when they updated the effects and changed the voice to a new recording...disney soon brought back the old Mara
Thomas Hayes Completely forgot about the Mara voice change!
Kyra Frantz Probably because it wasn't present for so long since quite a few people complained about it haha. The only reason I see as to why they maybe wouldn't change it back is because if you listen closely the original roar is laid under the new roar, so in a sense its "technically" still there.
The old one was more like a howl to me, like a werewolf.
Tesstessztgtgzh
Bonjour à vous. Il est en vacances . g
I hate the new roar. Sounds like he's constipated. Plus I can't believe they removed the Frank Wells memorial!!! For those that don't know, he was the past President of Disney that died in a helicopter crash. He was an avid mountain climber and the Disney Imagineers displayed a camp site where the crystals used to be with a box marked "Wells Expediation" as a memorial.
It's actually much louder and scarier in person. I screamed lol
Elizabeth Schiada I agree. I'd recorded the ride, along with a lot of other stuff, and when I was editing the videos, I actually scared myself because it was so loud!
To me it sounds more like he's vomitting
+Christopher Tang LOL
+Jennifer Garcia Supposedly the crate was simply being restored and will return somewhere in the ride.
I sure do miss the old roomy two seat Bobsled. I wish Disney would have both and let the guest choose. The three seats is just too cramped.
...oh schnitzel...
i wish they did not change it, I liked the original 1959 version. Why would they change it?
Ugg Lee I think you mean 1978, because that's when all the caverns and animatronics were added. In 1959, the ride looked like this inside: www.yesterland.com/images-background/insidematterhorn_3.jpg
I wouldn’t go on this ride for years because I was terrified of fast rides, but after I finally worked up the courage to go on it, I couldn’t get enough of it! 😄 This ride is so much fun! I’m bummed out they got ride of the big crystals in the cave, but the mangled bobsleds and gondolas was a really cool idea for a replacement. Love the yeti animatronics, too! They’re much more lifelike than the original stationary prop looking yeti they had in there (who I believe has been moved to The Collector’s vault in Mission Breakout). Very fun ride, absolutely love it! 😄
Is the ride still really rough or have they smoothed it out?
***** The Tomorrowland side is a bit smoother. The Fantasyland side is 3 seconds longer though.
Left side is rougher and more intense, right side is faster towards the end and smoother throughout
***** Left and right side? You mean Tomorrowland and Fantasyland side, right?
Ben Waldburger no he or she means the two entrances to the matterhorn
So then if I want to do a smooth ride through, the right/Fantasyland side is the best choice?
I remember riding this in the very front at 5 years old... now that i'm 18 I feel like I was probably just scared of everything..
Did anyone else notice the destroyed skyway buckets?
ye
aw man, was just at Disneyland, didn't go on this ride mainly since I'm terrified of huge drops. Looks like it would've been fun.
Same. I HATE drops.
The drop isn't even that bad..Now, if we're talking Splash Mountain, yeah stay away.
Yeahh the first time I went on splash mountain, I was only 5 and I almost shit myself after the first drop bc just that one was steep. LOL
Matterhorn doesn't have too many drops, it's just bumpy and makes your butt sore. 😂
+TheLunarLegend It's not scary. It goes by really quickly and there's not many drops, and the drops aren't that huge.
Hello! If you would like a nostalgic ride through the Matterhorn Mountain, then just remember you are riding the very first tubular steel rollercoaster! Harold's new look and sound is ferocious and mature. With age comes change and that should be no different than for our beloved Harold the Abominable Snowman!
Runaway mine train is the first tubular track coaster at sixflags
Matterhorn is first in tubular steel rollercoasters
joshua boggs Runaway mine train is six flags first tubular track coaster, but Matterhorn is the first tubular track coaster ever. Mine Train opened in 1966, Matterhorn opened in 1959.
Scariest yeti since the one in Rudolph
Expedition Matterhorn: Revenge of the Yeti
... Why do the Yeti growls sound so much like pirates?
This looks absurd. I cant believe theyre trying to retrofit expedition everest into the 1959 Walt Disney classic. I'm a lifelong passholder and im just anout fed up with Disney
Michael Schmidt I'd say it's no more a retrofit than the 1978 update that brought the figures in originally.
I know that this is Matterhorn and that Everest is in Florida, I'm saying that they're trying to make the mystical Abominable Snowman into the lunging/ frightening yeti like they have in Florida at Expedition Everest.
Michael Schmidt I think "frightening" was what they've always been going for, but the technology never really stood up to what they can do now. The new Yeti is classic, yet also with modern technology.
They should have made the roar louder and scarier, especially in the last tunnel to make you jump
It is loud and it is scarier.
Not really, its just a couple of grunts. The original actually screamed.
It can be heard all the way from Mickey's Toontown and being on the actual attraction is way scarier than watching it through a RUclips video :)
Audio has upgraded it was so loud. The snow wind was really scary and relaxing at the same time.
iMélange Entertainment That's good to hear, because it sounds awful in this video
I'm such a wimp, I won't go on it because someone died on it... No thank you! It was her fault, because she stood up or something, but still. Gives me the creeps.
Kaira Michelle wait... what?! Definitely skipping this one now.
"3 January 1984: Dolly Regene Young, a 48-year-old Fremont, CA, resident, was killed on the Matterhorn in an incident remarkably similar to the first Disneyland guest death nearly twenty years earlier. About two-thirds of the way down the mountain Young was thrown from her seat into the path of an oncoming bobsled, her head and chest becoming pinned beneath its wheels. An examination of Young's sled revealed that her seatbelt was not fastened at the time of the accident, but because she was riding alone in the rear car of a sled no one could determine whether or not she had deliberately unfastened her belt."
Kaira Michelle many people died in many rides at the park
Expedition Everest
seriously one of my fav Disney rides, it does break down a lot but it was one of the original rides at Disneyland, you gotta give it props
dude the new Yeti looks so danm Sick going there next month
Dylan A the new one doesn't look scary at all to me.
+Carrol Collins It does in real life!
+Carrol Collins In real life, it's creepy.
At Least Kristen
In
I wish they had this at Disney World cuz I'd love to ride this!
You guys have Expedition Everest, which is as good if not better :P
N05L31 Too bad they're stuck in disco yeti mode for who knows how long
N05L31 Disco Yeti isn't working.
***** fair point, but the ride itself is AT LEAST as good
I go like last year (when they have the old one) and my cousin told me that the yeti kill a woman for taking pictures. and now I see this new yeti I don't wanna gonna go again... help!
The figures are bolted to the mountain's infrastructure and are programmed solely for the movements you see on the video.
Animatronics in the real world do not abide by FNAF logic, and are not out to kill you.
+AdrenalineAddict610 lmao
ive been begging to go to disneyland for this ride, last time we went the line was PACKED!! i do hope ill be able to go back once this virus is all over. It looks AMAZING aside from a few jumpscares! i can not wait to go on that ride!!
I got on the ride last week, and i was a little scared hehe
i went on this as a child i hhave not recovered since
How the heck did you get on this ride with NO line?!
mexiaznann Limited preview prior to official reopening.
I would be afraid to ride this ride, considering 2 people died on it.
However, it looks really cool and I probably would ride it.
The people who died violated park safety rules. I was actually there when the woman was killed back in 1984 (I was 9). The story I heard was that she dropped her sunglasses and unbuckled her seat belt so she could retrieve them, resulting in her falling out. Rather than staying put, she tried to climb down and was struck by another bobsled. The kid who died in the 60s stood up while the ride was moving (dumb).
Meg G Ohhh okay! did you really see her get struck?
Thanks for reminding me, now I'm going to have nightmares tonight.
Christopher Tang No problem.
+Meg G Yeah, most deaths at the parks were caused by stupidity! If you lose an item, wait til you're off the right and tell a CM. I had an old friend who was the same and likely still is. She's afraid to ride most rides at Disneyland because she is afraid she will die. I never let those incidents get to me. I know another person also died after getting off the Matterhorn from I guess a concussion. And someone died on BTMRR too when the locomotive struck the guy on the head and chest.
The new yetis suck they shouldn't of changed them
Lucas Clark yeah.
Lucas Clark The new Yeti's looks better if they would of just left the roar alone and not have changed it.
Brian C I have been on the ride, and this is the correct answer.
The yeti in expedition Everest is more scary
Is it wrong that the new Yeti roar makes me crack up every time? I mean, it's really silly now. They could replace it with a sound tape of a man saying "roar" and you wouldn't tell the difference XD That also cracks me up about the new roar... lol
The new enhancements look amazing! Can't wait to ride it when we go (this fall). Yeah, it looks really jerky, which will play havoc on this old guy's neck and back. But that's what the chiropractor is for! lol It will be worth it to see the updates. Thanks very much for posting this!
When did yall go? it's empty!
Seriously! Probably Late September or Early May.
i want to go in this ride but im kinda afraid, are there any big drops??
No, it just takes you around the mountain
It is a high speed a turbulent rollecoaster but no major drops
+Bobby Alarcon oh okay good, are all of them the same like does it make a difference from the one in California and the one in orlando Florida??
+Michael Garcia thank u soo much
+Bobby Alarcon i like it fast but i just dont like drops, thank u so much 😊
Why so many changes?? No glowing eyes, no crystals, the iconic and eerie roar is gone. :(
And I'm hearing so many complaints about the new cars. I miss the old Matterhorn!
For those complaining about the roar....it's actually better when you're on the ride. Actually, the ride is REALLY scary now
where is the roar original sound? where are the diamonds? meh i dont like those changes. original was more better than this. cheaply done.
rextony22 They replace the diamonds with the wreck scene.
rextony22 I wouldn't really say "cheaply" done. Sure, they put in a new roar, sure they changed the "crystals" scene, but it wasn't cheap in any sense. When you're riding the ride, you can really see how amazing the stuff is, and it's truly incredible! It isn't a "cheap" fix or anything, it's all high quality stuff!
rextony22 having been on both, I have to agree
The true original never had any of that. It was hollow and empty. The crystals were only added in 1994 after Skyway went extinct (partially due to structural damage to Matterhorn). It's only fitting wrecked Skyway gondolas replaced them. As for the Yeti, it sounds more realistic and looks more menacing. They really knocked it out of the park.
What I luv about POV is that I feel like I'm actually there
I feel like disney should make the matterhorn taller since its not so very high
looks much better than the original version! This one looks scarier
The. Abdominal. Snowman. Great.
Everyone be complaining about the roar and I have never even been in Disneyland :(
I’m from Australia and just got back from my trip to America. It’s such a fun ride!!! Honestly now I’m just binging on these sorts of videos on all my favourite rides. It’s bumming isn’t it? Seeing all these people complaining about something you would KILL for!
I rode this in first in 1975 before the snowman BS and it was faster and scarier because you actually went inside the mountain and it was like a real rollercoaster.
Why isn’t this ride at Busch gardens Williamsburg
I went on this ride a couple years ago it’s scary actually
I never been on Matterhorn before, because either I was too short, or it was down when I was there. Hopefully, I get to ride it when I go there again! :D
My back broke just from watching
Disney fucked up my favorite ride of all time!
In my opinion, I think this is better than Expidition Everest.
I wish I could ride this, but it still looks too jerky for my poor back 😰
SallyDollx13x yeah I was wondering too if it is still as jerky since the last ride vehicle upgrade.
Right side is less jerky
+Kyle Richardson. Rosie. Olensky.

***** i totally agree
Well they added padding recently so woo!

If only the yeti on the Matterhorn moved like this...
Pov angry snow monke chases you around his house
I do not remember this episode of Finding Bigfoot
Matter horns my favorite ride in Disney land 😂
i remember last year i was getting on this ride for the first time and i waited in line for about 20 mins and i barely sat down and we moved like an inch and they said the ride broke down and i was kinda disappointed 😂
The new yeti sounds like a nasally bowser .
This ride still remains one of my favorites!
Expedition Everest is scary because of the roller coaster. The Matterhorn is scary because of the yeti.
Actually, the Matterhorn is scary for the chance your waist might rip off from the sharp turns and 60 year old tracks 😂
@@Lemoncoder103 Good point.
When the guy was riding and vloging I was like "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!"
Well I’m a idiot and my brother (who is 5) didn’t even scream once throughout the ride while my butt was screaming it’s head off
Me: *on the ride enjoying myself*
Also me: *sees the yeti*
Me again: ITS THE ABDABMOMINABLE SLOWMAN
There's something I find deeply fascinating about a terrifying white furred monster attacking you in a frozen mountain.
The new Yeti's are awesome, but they sound like The Hulk now
I am going for the Diamond Celebration in a few weeks. This is going to be,awesome ^-^
.......😑😑😑😑
***** its today
It was the 22
Same going in 2 weeks
Jasmine Is Me are you talking about July 17?
I was so bitter when i got off this ride. I hated the yeti. The thing i don't like is when you fall down if the weight is heavy water will splash on you and i was unfortunate
I remember doing this as a kid and my mom telling me this would be a peaceful ride.. this was the #1 ride I was scared of as a kid
whre are the diamonds? i like those better.
rextony22 the diamonds where replaced by the wreckage scene of the yeti wrecking the cars.
They could have had both!
Sounds like Bowser!
how big are the drops?
So cool❤️😍😘🤗💞👍😂💋
NICK JONAS NOT MY FRIEND
WATCH OUT FOR THE YETI!!!!!!!!
I like the new roar! It sounds more like a human type creature which is kinda what the yeti is supposed to resemble. Makes the myth feel a bit more realistic than it did with just a loud rooooar and some arm waving
gotta love the matterhorny bobsleds!
why are the lines sooo empty??
Angelo's creations This was shot during limited previews. Matterhorn wouldn't open to the public until a day later.
