- The suspect in a shooting that killed three Michigan State University students and injured five others had a note in his pocket threatening two New Jersey schools, police say.
According to the Ewing Township Police Department, 43-year-old Anthony McRae had a history of mental health issues and local ties to Ewing Township, which is near Trenton, New Jersey.

That's not a viable solution, and not even a good bandaid for the problem. These campuses are gigantic, like mini towns, you can't "secure" something like this, and even if you could, no where would be able to afford the amount of man power to do this, and it would essentially turn schools and colleges into prisons. What we actually need to have is some reasonable gun policy reform... but that's not going to happen, because Republican politicians fear losing campaign donations from the gun lobby, and losing support from their elector base. It all comes down to putting money and personal political gain over the good of the people.

The is beyond sad. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. Fortunately the perpetrator gave himself the death penalty so at least he didn’t cause the families years of dealing with this tragedy for a trial. Hopefully, those affected will get some closure and find peace again. We have to find a way of ending these types of incidents.
The system failed all of them, including him, who was suffering from schizophrenia I'm guessing you don't know what that is or have dealt with anyone who has it. He should've been released to a mental health facility where they could monitor him and give him the medicine he needs along with counseling.
@@Shemiteprince I worked in a locked psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane for a year and a half, I have a nephew that has schizophrenia and I’m a RN so yes, I know a lot about mental illness. Maybe he should have been in treatment but you can’t force someone into treatment that doesn’t want help or denies they have a problem or decides they don’t like the way they feel on their medication except by court order which means they have already committed a crime. The “system” cannot control people and it’s a cliche to say the system failed him. I think maybe we shouldn’t let people with serious mental health issues have guns.

They gave accurate descriptions of them. Why does that upset you? The dude was Fraternity President and was studying business so, yes, being the head of a school organization does give him leadership qualities. The white girl was studying Biology and Anthropology and excelled as a student so describing her as top notch is accurate. The black girl wanted to be a Pediatrician which is admirable but was she studying to be that and was she a high achieving student? I haven't found anything to indicate that.
