Awesome info bro! Subbed. Looking forward to your SOTE coverage
Thank you! 🙏 🤘
Great builds and also tue guide is very helpful 👍. Love the work you put on these videos continue the great work. I hope one day to see your channel grow going more than 100 thousand subscribers, you really deserve it👏
Thank you, appreciate it! 🙏 🤘
Great video as always!
I'm probably going into DLC with the Blasphemous Blade build from ur Top 6 builds video :D
Thank you! 🙏 and faith is always a good choice 🤘
Blasphemous blade is probably the best weapon in entire game, but keep in mind that whole DLC theme will be around blasphemy and sin, probably a lot of enemies using fire and resistant to it. Fire was the best elemental damage in mine game, and now probably holy damage will shine :)
Great video as usual! I would love to see you do PvP videos along with their builds.
Thank you! I’ll look into it. May do some PvP on my alt. 🤘
@@TheKingofRedLightningI'm not the biggest PvPer, mainly just coop and defend my wife in invasions. But I would be interested in this too!
Great video Matt! I hope holy weapons become more relevant in the DLC. I have been thinking about trying out the Gargoyles Black blade again.
Thank you! And me too. It would give us a lot of fun options to use. 🤘
I dont understand how no one’s talking about Magma Wyrm Greatsword, I was playing around with different SL150 builds, and tried to kill Malenia without cheesing her using OP weapons. And I just tried this weapon for fun on a STR/FAI build and I got her down in the 2nd attempt! Try it!
It is good too for sure 👍 prob just outside my top 20.
All of these top weapon lists are subjective. I completely agree that the Magma Wyrm Scalesword is better than some on this list, i.e. moonveil, black knife. Always fun to see how people rate these weapons
That was my main weapon in my 2nd playthrough. I wanted the magma blades but couldn't get them to drop. Went straight to the precipice for upgrade mats and used the mwsc for the rest of the game.
It's so much better than the attention it gets. I would put it somewhere in top 15. Probably top 5 str/faith weapons.
It's so much better than the magma blades, which I eventually got and did t like
@@Unknowngnostic haha, the magma blades look pretty cool and pretty decent. but I think it's the Aesthetic factor and their insanely rare drop rate that have people all over them. Nice to hear from a fellow Scalesword user!
@@oi_ocelot_io7864 yea I think the magma blades look cool but I prefer using bandits with fire better.
As far as the scale sword, lol, that thing defies physics. Enemies can move if they want and you will shift mid air and follow them. It was also the 1st weapon I learned had a follow up attack
Since then I've used almost every weapon in the game, atleast probably 250 of them. And the magma wyrm scale sword is one of my favorite top 10 weapons. Along with great stars, death ritual spear, mohgs spear, bolt of gransax and som others. I do think bloodhounds fang is one of the best weapons in the game, but I don't ever use it.
I love the better starting class options like i wouldn't have picked some of these before. makes it easier for when i just have to start a whole new game because i saw a cool build on yt lol
Awesome! 🤘 maybe I’ll do that for more future videos too.
Great video! Very informative as always. Definitely will help me. Definitely easier to upgrade somber than smithing.
Agreed, and thank you! 🤘
You’re welcome
How are you going to build it? And what daggers do you intend to use?
@@louisgunther2107 I think the ash is situational so I want enough int for good damage there. And enough str. And dex. For good damage there as well. Maybe the mercicorde
Your determination is unreal !!!! Respect Matt
Thank you! 🤘
Great Vid as usual, personally i will be bringing a mage build (as main char)to dlc at 200 lvl with moonveil for trash cleaning and comets/ranni's fullmoon/ adula moonblade etc for boss fights and probaby an arcane build with dragon incantations and raduvia as an alt. i also prefer 200 lvl over 150 for stat flexibility reasons. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! And solid choice. You can’t go wrong with magic. 🤘
These are good! More somber weapons builds!
Excellent, well-balanced info and vid!
Thank you, happy it was helpful 🤘
Great video as always pal.
I have multiple builds for DLC
Got a dex & arc with the scavenger curved swords
Got a strength & arc with the beastman curved & the gargoyle twin blade as well
Then got the night comet build
Wing of Astel build
Mog spear build
And to finish the blasphemous build
A lot of hours but worth it for me.
Thank you & nice! Those are all good options for DLC 🤘
I plan on trying a Dex/faith build for the dlc running a keen nagakiba with the lighting armament and all the ancient dragon incantations. The builds been fun so far currently switching to the black knife for some range when needed. Started messing around with the bolt of gransax as well
Nice! That’s a great choice. Dexterity & faith is good/fun/versatile. 🤘
Another W video I’m taking my INT/FTH build into the DLC
Thanks & nice choice! 🤘
For DLC I’m bringing 2 builds, my favourite ones that I just remade in anticipation!
First up Faith/Strength hybrid build. Main weapon Blas Blade. But other set ups with maxed Garg Black Blade, prayer strike rusted anchor and main spells black flame and the buffs.
Second build is pure mage
Main spells: Carian Slicer and any bolt - night comet, glintstone anything. Throw in comet for some fun.
Other setups to support moonblade or scholar arm katana/hookclaws are an easy transition but better with respec.
Nice! Solid options! 🤘
Judging by the trailer for the DLC, I believe that fire-resistant enemies will be the nerf for Blasphemous Blade. Speaking of which, the one build I have ready to enter the DLC is one that uses the Blasphemous Blade as its main weapon. I also do have the Envoy's Long Horn that I used against fire resistant bosses like Mohg, and it may also carry my build through the DLC. It's been a while since I played, but once I go back to the game, the first thing I will do is duplicate the Elden Remembrance to get both Marika's Hammer and Sacred Relic Sword. I am also debating using a larval tear to respec. as I only have my vigor at 50 and I am tempted to take it to 60 without rune farming for more levels. I capped faith at 50 and have both strength and dexterity in the mid-20's. It's a tough call as redistributing points from strength or dexterity to get 60 vigor could put me in a position where I might need to level up to be able to start experimenting with Marika's Hammer and/or Sacred Relic Sword, and last I knew both those weapons scale better with strength or dexterity and not as much with faith.
That’s a solid setup. Strength & faith are both great, and could be really good for DLC. 🤘
Your guides come in clutch bro I made a strength/arc build 70/80 with 30 endurance I hold both mowgs spear and executioner sword most overpowerd thing to ever exist every boss just disappears regardless of what weapon i use.
Thank you & awesome! 🤘
Another great video!
Thank you! 🤘
Crazy that I thought I was "upgrading" from Eleonora's Poleblade to RoB but the Poleblade is better. I could poise break and deal fast bleed buildup.
Yep it’s deff better than the ROB now. The ROB was nerfed 5 times between PvE & PvP lol
I agree with taking a break. After nonstop Elden Ring since October I finished Sekiro then Dark Souls Remastered, then Dark Souls 2. Work forced me to be somewhere without an Internet connection and I can't bring my pc so it's Breath of the Wild on Yuzu Android and other older FromSoft titles like Kuon on PS2 Android for now.
Dark Souls 3 by May, Elden DLC by June, interspersed with Bloodborne, Demon's Souls for completing my Souls arc. Then its the Armored Core series.
Then to King's Field where it all began by the 'Ber months.
Nice! And yep I was back to playing 5+ days a week after DLC was announced. Probably play like 2 nights a week for now, and play some dark souls & helldivers 2. Also I started fallout 4 again after the show got me back into it lol
Blasphemous blade truly is phenomenal. Leagues above all other builds. The crazy hyper armor poise, the staggering even big enemies, the insane heals, meaning you don't even need crimson flasks when clearing areas except boss fights. What's even crazier is it is great for aoe (hitting multiple targets) and S tier for single target dps on bosses. You can focus more on maximizing hp/defense too as you show and are clearly doing in your build for it. This means you can semi tank on high ng+. It's just hilarious to me how much better it is than literally everything else PVE wise. Nothing comes close that close realistically speaking, however night comet kinda does if you use mimic for bosses. Mimic with blasphemous blade build is elden ring baby mode lol!
Haha yeah it’s easy mode. DLC could have fire resistant bosses, but even so for the base game & mobs it’s virtually unbeatable. 🤘
Are we sure we can take a full build into the dlc? Talk of new leveling/ power system has me wondering if we can bring anything but Torrent and our own diapered Tarnished butt.
Haha we can it’ll prob just do less damage at the beginning of DLC for all builds.
I know you consistently use faith tear to get to golden vow, if you could in future videos mention which tear you'd use if you had 25 faith (I am happy to level to 160) that would be great. Unless I'm misunderstanding something as to why you use faith tear so much.
It’s really only for buffs. I like the stamina and health regen tear if you have enough faith.
Why not ash with golden vow?@@TheKingofRedLightning
@@AntonKlermon 5% less attack & defense plus it lasts less than half the time of the incantation.
im bringing an int and dex build with daggers. Good close range good far range and good poise break.
Solid choice! 🤘
Is Moonveil a good weapon for endgame?? Together with Carian Regal Scepter?? I'm thinking of switching to katana but with intelligence as well.
Yeah it’s good. But if you do NG+ it tends to fall off a bit.
I stopped playing elden ring because I got platinum but getting back into it to prepare for DLC. Is Rivers of blood no longer op? 😭 I loved that weapon
Nice! Yeah it got nerfed 5 times between PvE & PvP lol I can barely recommend it anymore.
Also great video! Holy detail
@@Greed-IQ thank you! 🤘
The top 6 is definitely accurate. I'd maybe put Hand of Malenia a bit higher.
Thanks! I actually moved hand of Malenia up more than I normally do. I agree it’s very good. The ash is fun too. 🤘
Have you ever made a build using the Sword of Milos?
Not yet. It’s alright but mainly a nice debuff for bosses.
Could you do a video on Black flame Katana?
I can look into it, but the black flame blade incantation isn’t too good. It barely lasts 10 seconds.
@@TheKingofRedLightning Oh ok
I'm assuming a Rivers build would be basically identical to a Poleblade build? How does it compare?
They’re close but I’d give Eleonora’s the edge now. The problem with the ROB is it didn’t survive the 3-5 nerfs it had. You can also use the same stats & build for both. 🤘
The Bandit's Curved Swords with the flame art infusion is just way better thah the magma blades tho. Let's assume that 70 points are available to allocate in damage stats and the starting class is the wretch. With 80 points in faith and just meeting the minimum strength and dexterity requirements, the Bandit's Curved Sword achieves an Attack Rating (AR) of 654.
When investing optimally in the Magma blades, with 50 points in strength and 40 in faith, the Magma Blades yield an AR of only 611, which is quite underwhelming. Even more so when you consider that with the same stat investment, the Bandit's Curved Sword infused with Flame Art attains a superior AR of 623. This is particularly disappointing given that 50 of those points invested in strength are essentially wasted on the Bandit's Curved Sword with Flame Art infusion, yet it still performs better than the Magma blades. Furthermore, with 80 points in both strength and faith, the Magma Blades STILL PERFORM WORSE (692 AR vs 688 AR). It's important to note that those 80 points in strength are virtually useless on the Bandit's Curved Sword.
Overall, the only advantages the Magma Blades have over the Bandit's Curved Swords are the Ash of War (which is subject to debate) and their performance at excessively high levels, which are not practical for a standard playthrough. (Yk and it's infusable which is amazing when fighting fire resistant bosses)
I comment this on basically any video involving the magma blades so don't take it personally 😅
I know I use that build often. The magma blades have a cool ash though. But yeah they’re not as good and you’re splitting stats.
I’d really like to give the death poker a try mostly because I like how it looks lol
I’m using it right now and it’s been really fun
I recommend it for sure. The damage ceiling is great! 🤘
@@grahamsoldner9057 I may give it a try but I want to try equal dex and int. That way I can try to get good damage from the ash and physical
@@TheKingofRedLightning thanks Matt
It is so much fun and melts bosses.
Nice video
Thank you! 🤘
How do you feel bout malikeths black blade?
It’s good, just has a very long animation & requires split stats for damage.
How bad is the falloff damage for radhans weapon in ng+ and beyond
Decent but tbh it’s not bad. The Ruins’ Greatsword falls off way more.
Could you make a build for RL250+?
I’m going to do another video for high level builds before DLC. 🤘
I wonder if there will be new physick tears🤔🤔🤔
I hope so! 🤘 we need an arcane one.
How did you wield BB with 20 str? Isn’t the requirement 22?
When you 2 hand you get 1.5x your strength stat. 🤘
I was expecting elenora's poleblade to be top 5 at least
It’s good but it’s not top imo. Low AR and seppuku on any smithing twinblade is better.
Thanks to your blasphemous blade build, i could defeat Malenia by myself!!! subs!!!
Awesome! 🤘
Can somebody explains me when and why use howls of shabiri and golden vow with the dark moon? It's not a critic, i'm just noob and genuinely don't know😂
They’re damage buffs. They add a total of 40% more damage. 🤘
no Godslayer's Greatsword? it's a pretty good Somber weapon
It is but after the poise nerf it’s hard to pull off the ash.
What do you think about bloody helice
Good for PvP, meh for PvE.
@@TheKingofRedLightning looks fun that's why i thought to play dlc with it. What's ur top 5 most fun weapons?
@@Anthony20722 top 5 would probably be..Eleonora’s Poleblade, Death’s Poker, Reduvia/blood blade, Envoy’s Longhorn & Ordovis’s Greatsword. At least for the somber ones. 🤘
@@TheKingofRedLightning and non somber ice spear based on your videos 😂
Why would you want to reset frost? Where did this idea come from? Its literally like suggesting to cast golden vow then law of regression. Buff yourself then get rid of the buff
Frostbite makes the enemy take 20% more damage. The initial proc is only like 5% hp. It would only be worth it if you had low level weapons while fighting a high HP boss and could proc frostbite and remove it with each jump attack.
I think the idea of this came from when it was discovered fire reset frost, and shared in a video from rusty. I think ppl missed the point. If you are frostbitten, the small fire damage you take from fires deadly sin will reset frost ..or clear the status effect so you dont take extra damage
If you plan to do this, try your damage. Then try again on something after taking fire off. You will likely find you do more damage leaving frost on for the duration.
It depends on the boss type a bit too though. Certain bosses have low frost resistance, and you may get 3-4 procs in a fight - which may beat the debuff damage. The debuff also isn’t calculated as a specific amount. Even though it’s 20%, it factors in boss resistances. So it isn’t necessarily a direct 20% increase in your own damage. Also frost is 7-10% + 30 damage on enemies & bosses. It’s also fun to do lol so there’s that too.
Best 41:14 of April
🤘
Don't post another vid with the exact duration hahaha
Don't forget your faith tear. Lol
I know I use it for pretty much all builds, but it’s very helpful. Adding buffs makes everything a bit easier, and keeping everything at RL 150 with 60 vigor & 51 poise it ends up being very useful in saving 10 levels.
