I tend to get really experimental when making sandwiches (fun fact: I actually work in a sandwich shop!) I've really been loving turkish bread, and I'll usually spread some chunky pesto on top of it. Followed by spinach leaves, goats cheese, fresh chicken breast, avocado, spanish onion and sundered tomatoes - talk about drool! Plus I'm actually about to tuck into it right now! I ALSO LOVE BARRY XXX
Has anyone ever wondered if Ben has dropped the board right at the end and then gone, "oh, bollocks" and had to start the whole thing over again? I always am worried he's going to dump it each time
My favorite sandwich is a fried egg, over easy so it's still got a gorgeous runny centre, on buttered toast with slices of tomato, salt, and pepper. So simple, but the yolk and butter make a kind of sauce of it's own. Delicious :)
My fav sandwich is actually a very recent discovery, its sourdough bread with tuna, very thinly sliced preserved lemons (you will like that ben!) butter lettuce and sometimes mayo. It is delicious!!!
Here in the good ol' Midwestern United States, we've got a great sandwich called a hot beef. It's beautifully slow roasted beef, thinly sliced, served on white bread and smothered in a thick, rich beef gravy. Served with a side of mash it's perfect (at least during the harsh winter months!).
Scampi is brilliant! I work in a fishery, and I can absolutely say that you should always go for quality langoustinw tails (In the video) - The difference between a bit more money is incredible. Usually fisheries will sell two grades, A-grade and B-grade. Always buy the good stuff, and you can't go wrong. I recommend Icelandic scampi tails, because I'm a terribly biased Icelander!
BLAST my favorite sammich! Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, (alfalfa) Sprouts, and Tomato... On crisp toast with homemade mayonnaise. In the US, it is really the best in summer made with homegrown heirloom tomatoes- so tasty!
I love a good BLT, I was raised in Minnesota farm country so we raised our own pigs. We used to feed them walnuts from our walnut tree. We always joked that we could taste the walnut in the bacon or whatever pork we were eating.
Favourite sandwich is what I call sandwich a la Beatriz. It consists of a fresh French baguette with a little butter, then salami Milano slices all across the baguette, then some lettuce, no general preference then some really good crisps, either some kettle chips or Tyrells but I'll settle for walkers if I have to. Then I close the baguette and squish it a little until I hear the crisps smash and I like to enjoy it with a nice glass of fresh oj.
My favourite sandwich has to be a BLT - preferably a 1:1-ratio of B to L+T. For a really decadent one, fry off an egg in the bacon fat and add that as well. Absolutely delicious!
Dear SortedFoodies, I was at work, and of all the weird things to be musing over in my mind, I wondered if it's possible to make a seafood pot pie (?). I figured if anyone can do it, it's Ben and his red shorts, and if anyone can eat it, it's Mike, Barry, and Jamie.
My favourite sandwich is chicken brie from a place called baguette & co. Thin slices of actual chicken (not sliced deli meat!), thick, generous slices of brie, dried cranberries sandwiched between their house made baguette. Toast it for a few minutes and it is SO GOOD.
My favorite sandwich is really plain: White bread, some butter, tomato slices, iceberg salad and sea salt. I just love the simple but great taste of tomato and salad :)
as a vegetarian i sometimes find it hard to have really tasty and easy sandwiches, but my favourite sammich has to be, mozzarella, tomato and pesto with a few olives and toasted so all the yummy flavours combine haha, soooo goood!
Favorite sandwich is a reuben -- thick stack of thinly sliced corned beef (salt beef to you Brits), sourkraut, Thousand Island salad dressing, on rye bread, assembled and then grilled and served hot. Yum.
Have you chaps tried crisps and chips on other sandwiches and burgers? There is a fairly well known sandwich place in western Pennsylvania called Primanti Brothers, and they serve all of their sandwiches with cole slaw and french fries on the sandwich.
Hearing Ben and Jamie say you can use ‘lemonade’ instead of beer, and I have to remind myself they mean a fizzy soda-type drink, not a still juice based drink. I always forget Lemonade doesn’t mean the same thing around the world.
I like roast chicken with onion gravy sandwiches and sometimes I add some sage and onion stuffing. Served with home cooked British chips in beef dripping.
Those chip/crisps look amazing and a healthier version vs normal fried chips/crisps! I think a SORTED Food Video on how to flavor chips/crisps before they go in the oven would be awesome!
A local business makes a veggie sub to die for, 3 cheeses, onion, tomato, peppers, black olives, mayo. Bread is made fresh in the store. I've been addicted to them for over 40 years.
Those potato chips look delicious. Just a heads up for those who are curious: a doorstep sandwich is one with thick bread. In America, we don't use that term, we would probably just call it a sandwich with thick bread.
My all time favorite is a Vietnamese style sandwich because I grew up on it :))))))))), eating every day year in year out and never got bored. Of course I'd like to try new things, too, so I've been making reuben sandwich and it's so so good.
This looks so delicious even though I just had a massive salmon pita wrap and I'm stuffed. Never considered the thought of a battered seafood sandwich with shellfish instead of plain old white fish. I'll definitely try this with some massive prawns.
I like Calimari (always as fresh as you can get, luckily I live near a fish mongers), Mayo, and a bed of slice Gherkins in a sandwich. simple tasty, tangy and cheap enough to make
Thin sliced rare steak (cold), avocado slices, tomato, crispy bacon (cold) iceberg lettuce, slice gherkin, inside a hollowed ciabatta bun, each slice spread with a mixture of 2 parts mayo and 1 part Sriracha For surf and turf, add scampi and tartare sauce.
Oooh tough ask favourite sub style sandwich has to be a hot chicken, hot bacon, melted Brie and red currant jelly with watercress BUT a close second is seeded Ryvita with Brussels pate, mango chutney and sliced gherkins... Yum
Hands down best sandwich of me is the one you make the day after thanksgiving or Christmas, with stuffing, turkey, cranberry, veg, gravy... Mouth explosion
Tip I found really helpful; instead of using kitchen towel or paper towel to drain off excess oil, a brown paper bag absorbs oil more, leaving the food to be more crisp.
BLT with romaine & rocket, yellow tomatoes and real bacon. (Un emparedado con lechuga romana, tomates amarillos, y tocino de verdad. Buenísimo emparedado para el verano. ¡Tomates directamente desde nuestro jardín!)
My local sandwich vendor has a sandwich with chicken, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, mayo and ACTUAL WARM CHEESY NACHOS. Heaven between two slices of bread I dare say..
My favorite has to be a chicken cutlet, cold with mayo and mustard mixed. Toasted bread of course. Oh, but leftover meatloaf with ketchup is also really good!
OMG I love crisps with white bread!! They just taste yummy for some reason haha. My favourite sandwich would have to be Ham and Sun Dried tomatoes with cheese/assorted veggies and a honey mustard sauce ^.^ Quite a healthy option if you ignore the ham or substitute it with smoked chicken breast. Also love potato salad sandwich.
My fav sandwich is a torta de lengua! It is made with cow tongue, sour cream, avocado, iceberg lettuce, and pinto beans all on a toasted bolillo. It is a common Mexican sandwich! YUM!! I dare you to make it and give it a try! AMAZINGNESS IN YOUR MOUTH! P.S Congrats on the new baby Jamie!
As I'm watching this video, I'm tucking in to a chicken salad sandwich. Roast chicken, tomato, rocket, some *very* thinly sliced white onion and a bit of mayo. Simple. Lovely.
i absolutely love lobster roll. one time i went to a fancy restaurant and it was the sweetest lobster roll ive ever had, it even had grapes in them to make them sweeter
Fresh rye bread with garlic aioli, roasted chicken, red onion, cos lettuce, cherry tomato, a thin slice of swiss cheese, and a slice of beetroot. Add a light drizzle of Sriracha for some bite.
Americans should note that when they say "lemonade" its not what we think of. Think of a Sprite thats all lemon and not as sweet. A bubbly lemon beverage, not squeezed lemons, sugar and water. -My favorite American Sandwich is a toss-up between the Cheesesteak (no fake cheese sauce, thanks) and the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich...
I think I can do sprite and lemonade conversion stuff- America- sprite Australia- lemonade (and/or sprite) Australia- lemonade (like sprite) America- lemonade (lemon juice with sugar and water)
i do enjoy an Italian sandwich with pepperoni, Genoa salami, black olives, italian vinaigrette, and fresh spinach leaves on Italian or sourdough bread :)
My favorite sandwiche is roast beef with home made coleslaw in rye bread. My second favorite is chicken with avacado in whole meal bread and third is a tasty cheese toasty. 🍞
Jamie mentioned a crisp sandwich. In the states a potato chip sandwich is a hidden guilty pleasure, You have to make them and tell no one, white bread lots of mayo and salt and vinegar chips, oh yeah it's great but it is considered so low class like a velveeta and mayo sandwich or spagettios so tell no one.
How about making a sandwich series? For example with tuna sandwiches, vegetarian sandwiches, easy and quick sandwiches and complicated sandwiches which you can use instead of a whole meal. I would love to see you guys doing that *-*
A thick panko fried whitefish fillet, toasted bread, american cheese slices (dont laugh, the combo works!) sriracha srizzled on the hot fish, cheese over and under that. You NEED juicy, flavorful, sweet tomatoes on this, it is key. a bunch of crisp lettuce and more sriracha on that. That sandwich goes str8 to my heart
I love, love, love you guys! I've always thought that sandwiches were quite boring, but this looks delicious! Maybe you could do a segment on sandwiches? ♡
When I saw the loaf, I thought you guys were gonna slice the whole thing in half and use that for the sandwich. Now THAT would've been the ultimate manwich.
i'd say a pizza sandwich, or a breakfast sunny-side-up sandwich where you layer feta or salty cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, an oozy sunny side up egg and serve it with fries.
My husband thinks I am weird when I put potato chips in my sandwiches - but my Dad, brother and I all do it and its delish! Good to know he's the weirdo LOL

This may sound very odd but I love French bread with cheese, ham, mustard, mayo, and pickles. Always a winner.
Looks delish! I love pulled pork, turkey, and meat sandwiches with potato chips for crunch. My hands are in the air!
I like ciabatta with basil pesto, tomato and mozzarella. It is so good!
Sarah Diercksen omg perfection! everything in the world is better with basil or pesto!
So, what is scampi known as where you guys are from? I'm from Louisiana and scampi is known as shrimp pasta with a lemon butter garlic sauce over here
My fav sandwich is actually a very recent discovery, its sourdough bread with tuna, very thinly sliced preserved lemons (you will like that ben!) butter lettuce and sometimes mayo. It is delicious!!!

Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays are my favorite days of the week.

I like Bens term "spoony consistency".
I'd gladly spoon consistent with him any day.
Spoony consistency means spooning a chef all day long right? ;)
Oh my God, haha XD
BLAST my favorite sammich! Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, (alfalfa) Sprouts, and Tomato... On crisp toast with homemade mayonnaise. In the US, it is really the best in summer made with homegrown heirloom tomatoes- so tasty!

Cuban sandwiches are definitely the best sandwiches ever. Whenever I'm down in southern Florida I have to get one.
Dear SortedFoodies,
I was at work, and of all the weird things to be musing over in my mind, I wondered if it's possible to make a seafood pot pie (?). I figured if anyone can do it, it's Ben and his red shorts, and if anyone can eat it, it's Mike, Barry, and Jamie.
Cara Wilhelm Check out these two - sortedfood.com/#!/fishgratin/ and sortedfood.com/#!/skinnyfishpie/! Not quite the same, but close! :)
Oh my gosh, thanks! :D
My favourite sandwich is probably hot chicken (breadcrumbed) garlic mayo and a bit of lettuce 👌 can you do fried chicken recipe please 😃
Looks great lads! Yeehaw for scampi! :)
Pimento cheese and bacon on wheat with lettuce, and tomato! Such a good summer sandwich!
as a vegetarian i sometimes find it hard to have really tasty and easy sandwiches, but my favourite sammich has to be, mozzarella, tomato and pesto with a few olives and toasted so all the yummy flavours combine haha, soooo goood!
Cheese doritos or smoky bacon crisps with brown sauce make amazing sandwiches
YUM YUM
I think, this is my favourite Jamie vid of the old ones.
And did you see what he did after he pressed the lemon? 😁 lemon scented hands for the win!
Favorite sandwich is a reuben -- thick stack of thinly sliced corned beef (salt beef to you Brits), sourkraut, Thousand Island salad dressing, on rye bread, assembled and then grilled and served hot. Yum.
I always had peanut butter and wotsits! It is a surprisingly nice combination!
A nice medium rare steak sandwich with mustard mayo is gorgeous! So simple and so good!

I'm Greek-American, but oh yes, the Greeks do love their fresh caught fish! Especially in Chania! Another great video guys! c:
But not fish and chips!
Would you guys be kind enough to humour the colonies and make a nanaimo bar?
It's on the request list!
@@SortedFood Where is this?
My favorite sandwich is a grilled chipotle chicken with provolone, tomatoes, and red onions over a cheese crusted loaf. YUM!
In New Zealand we do chips (crisps) and (Kiwi) marmite sandwiches. They're pretty fabulous.
My all time favorite is a Vietnamese style sandwich because I grew up on it :))))))))), eating every day year in year out and never got bored.
Of course I'd like to try new things, too, so I've been making reuben sandwich and it's so so good.
Sounds amazing! My favourite sandwich has to be a Tayto crisp sandwich on Brennans white sliced pan bread!
Yes! And loads of butter! With a glass of coke or a cup of tea! Lovely!
The only way to have a crisp sandwich! ;)
Fave sanga as a kid was cheese, beetroot & salad cream or mayo. Now would be turkey, stuffing, cheese with either gravy or mustard or mayo.
Prawn cocktail crisps and cream cheese is genuinely beautiful in a sandwich.
This looks so delicious even though I just had a massive salmon pita wrap and I'm stuffed. Never considered the thought of a battered seafood sandwich with shellfish instead of plain old white fish. I'll definitely try this with some massive prawns.
A good reuben is easily one of the best sandwiches in existence. Thank you for getting to that in a future episode.
I like Calimari (always as fresh as you can get, luckily I live near a fish mongers), Mayo, and a bed of slice Gherkins in a sandwich. simple tasty, tangy and cheap enough to make

I always tend to go for chicken or tuna sandwiches, they are just so delish!
Jamie!!!! You're back! Congratulations for the new Baby!!!! 😘👶
When Ben said "tonic water", I thought he said "toilette water", and I was like, Ben has finally got some humor inside of him!
Hands down best sandwich of me is the one you make the day after thanksgiving or Christmas, with stuffing, turkey, cranberry, veg, gravy... Mouth explosion
My favorite sandwich is the Muffaletta sandwich. Great, great sandwich from New Orleans. It'd be nice to see you guys throw one together.
I had a bacon tar tar open faced sandwich last month and its officially my favourite now
Tip I found really helpful; instead of using kitchen towel or paper towel to drain off excess oil, a brown paper bag absorbs oil more, leaving the food to be more crisp.
SarsaparillaBabe Thanks, nice tip!
+SORTED Food Apparently people put eggs in their beer batter. Is that something you'd recommend?
Prosciutto and Salami, on pumpernickel, mozzarella cheese, jalepeno chips and horse radish.
Love scampi! Never thought about putting it in a sandwich though… what a brilliant idea :)
BLT with romaine & rocket, yellow tomatoes and real bacon.
(Un emparedado con lechuga romana, tomates amarillos, y tocino de verdad.
Buenísimo emparedado para el verano. ¡Tomates directamente desde nuestro jardín!)

I think we(US) use the term 'scampi' to describe a type of preparation for shrimp. (Butter, garlic....)
Yeah we've heard that from other people too!
Salt and vinegar chips with Vegemite/marmite in a white bread sandwich=AMAZING
This looks so good, it makes me want to go back to the UK! I'll definitely be trying this very soon:)
i'd say a pizza sandwich, or a breakfast sunny-side-up sandwich where you layer feta or salty cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, an oozy sunny side up egg and serve it with fries.
I love a good BLT. A close second is something with breaded fried chicken. Mmmmmm lovely.
A good battered Flathead or King George Whiting, with lettuce, tarte sauce on toasted bun or sliced bread with fried chips and a pinch of vegeta

I'm not too picky about fillings but I LOVE croissant-wiches.
