Oh my GOD!!!! I didn't realize what you were doing until I started singing along. Man, I wish God gave me your ear for harmony. Scary.. a total gift. You honor us. Thanks for being here.
there are a LOT of non musicians commenting on the vocal performance. They not only don't understand what you have done here by singling the harmony part, they actually have zero clue what you are doing. All they know is it doesn't sound like the song. my point, is who cares? Thank you so much for doing your harmony version for those of us who understand. It is fun to play along with this and sing melody to your harmony. Great job on the playing and great job on the harmony as well. I wouldn't worry trying to explain what you are doing to those that don't hear it. If they don't hear it they don't hear it. Explaining it probably isn't going to help much. Don't worry to much about it. What you have actually done is a very good job and cool video.
dude this is awesome. i played your version and the studio one at the same time and it is dead on. I don't know what everyone is talking about, you're tuned perfectly. Thanks for this, i'm totally gonna go and record my own version and double track my voice with the harmonies you used. Thanka again, great job!
Thanks so very much for your time putting this up - my daughter is starting to show an interest in harmony singing, and this way I can sing along to show her how they go together!
I have just uploaded my own version of this song, and found yours as a related video. I have sung the other part along with you and I think it sounds great together. I personally play it in A but that is just to suit my voice. You have put your own personal stamp on it and I think that is what folk music is all about anyway. The guitar accompaniment is awesome. Well done and please keep it up. Tony
Awesome work! I'l sing to this when I get the chance. It's very kind of you to give this piece of charity to the youtube community. Also great guitar play!
I love your style! thanks to your other video I learned how to play "April come she will" and now Im hoping to learn this one. Thank you so much again!
I think he's done a fantastic job, he hits the notes quite well considering they're so high and they are being "hit", not out of tune or anything so an admirable job.
class...ignore these clowns..i sang the paul simon harmony along with it,it blended brilliantly and i am fantastic.the guitaring was spot on as well..top job
+heelfan1234 it is not accurate. The first verse and choruses are accurate to Garfunkel's part, but after that he kind of blends Paul Simon's part in with Garfunkel's.
I just thought that i would clarify something here as people seem to be having trouble getting there heads around what is taking place. This man is singing the VOCAL HARMONY.......NOT Paul Simons lead vocals but Art Garfunkles HARMONY......hence the word HARMONY in the title. This is in the same key as the original and it is not out of tune. I repeat this is the SECOND vocal line sung by Art Garfunkle in HARMONY with Paul Simons lead vocal.......Does everybody understand now?
Great job! Ignore the detractors, and rave on, man! Beautiful Tacoma, by the way. have a JM16 myself; maple is a bit too bright for my tastes, but you do it justice here. Thanks for the posting; I'm gonna copy a couple of your licks, if you don't mind.
hey this is really good and i had loads of fun singing along with it! just one slight suggestion, i thought it was a bit fast. but otherwise excellent work my friend keep it up! :D
Man, this is really awesome. Gave myself chills several times singing to it. Only thing is it can be a bit confusing at first, would've only been better if youd've stuck with Garfunkel's part throughout - but it's only for the first verse so I can't really even complain about that. Gives me time to come in.
Good job, i can understand people's confusion though, first verse is pauls part ending with arts part. I believe verse 2 is then arts part switching back to pauls part halfway through. I certainly couldn't do better, especially as i now know both parts i get even more confused 😂
Thank you for this… I DO have to perform it in C, which is a slight stretch for me. You're playing C positions, but you're tuned down to B aren't you? like S & G, It makes it easier. Good solid picking, thanks, Clarence.
its very good, I can't believe that people get so uperty about the key, Paul Simon plyaed this on a show a few months back and had a capo on his guitar so I think its a case of play it in anu key that suits you. Do you have the sheet music for this rather than tabs,, I don't read tabs and find reading the actual music a lot easier and faster.
When I'm listening to the song, it's easy for me to pick out and sing the melody and the harmony parts (separately, obviously), but when I'm just listening to the harmony line, I can't remember the melody hahaha
I find for me to do successful harmony singing, I only know my part so when I hear those chords that's where my throat goes (with confidence hopefully). I'm not solid enough to change positions too often.
The song was originally written and performed in the key of B Major, but due to tape-speed variation, sounds about a quarter of a semitone closer to C Major. If you can sing the harmony better, paxpaul, I invite you to post a video.
You do realize that he’s singing the harmony part, different notes from the main melody? He’s spot on, very difficult to do while playing at the same time. If you were to sing the main melody to his video and record yourself, you’ll be surprised how good you sound together.
Pointing out, in a good performance/cover, that it's in the wrong key is very nit picky and snobbish. A cover is a cover for a reason. It's NOT the original. Leave it be.
I disagree with Azdv he is clearly sharp on the high notes, like he is straining to reach them. If he had transposed to a lower key he could have done a better job of singing. Baritones should never try to hit a Tenor's high notes. At a lower key his voice would be so much better.
I don't get how people can say this is bad. You did a terrific job. Anyone who actually knows the song knows would know that.
Oh my GOD!!!! I didn't realize what you were doing until I started singing along. Man, I wish God gave me your ear for harmony. Scary.. a total gift. You honor us.
Thanks for being here.
You went where most people won't dare go, and you did it so damn well. I too enjoyed singing the melody line along with you. It was awesome. Thanks.

Absolutely beautiful singing and guitar playing. Thank you
Just great. Love harmonizing to this song while listening, and now I have the notes that I couldn't make out. Thanks.
You Go Man......love the harmony and no-capo. Gives good base and flatter notes to your sharper voice singing. ...Great job.
Beautify harmony I can croon with. Thanks for sharing your talent. I'm learning how to pick along with the video.
Beautiful job guy, I really enjoyed singing along. Very nice Garfunkel.
Another great job; keep em coming. It's fun to sing along with your harmony! Thanks.
Thank you for this! I can finally see the chords and finger style and strum used and also get the harmonies perfect! ❤
Great idea Kevin, to do the harmony like that. Very different approach. Bravo.
Fantastic! So much fun to sing along with!! Thanks!
Buena interpretación... muy nítida la vocalizacion y la acústica de su guitarra... felicitaciones.

Great video!!! I just can't help singing along in the standard voice, with you laying the harmony. It sounds awsome!!! And nice playing too.
Awesome work! I'l sing to this when I get the chance. It's very kind of you to give this piece of charity to the youtube community. Also great guitar play!

How the hell does this even have dislikes? It’s exactly what the title states it is, and it’s played like the record to a tee!
Great Work. Thanks one million.
Looking forward for the tutorials
Fantastic. Your legend lives on.
Thank you for teaching me the harmonies.
John.
Gotta love singing along with this one!
I enjoyed singing along to this...great job man.
Excellent in every way.
Nice rendition of one of my fav S&G songs!
class...ignore these clowns..i sang the paul simon harmony along with it,it blended brilliantly and i am fantastic.the guitaring was spot on as well..top job
+Anita Barran I sang the Paul Simon part below this, it is totally accurate so far as I can tell.
+heelfan1234 it is not accurate. The first verse and choruses are accurate to Garfunkel's part, but after that he kind of blends Paul Simon's part in with Garfunkel's.
Great job! Thanks for putting this out there.

I love your harmony !!! Many thanks !!!
Great stuff. Great picking .

Few there be that get the finger picking pattern correct on this tune, but you got it!
Congrats!
Great!!More Simon & Garfunkel songs. Thanks.
Thanks so much for this!! I love to sing this song so much!!
This video is fantastic! I wish there were more harmony versions of songs out there. You couldn't be convinced to do a few more could you?
A pleasure to sing with you!!
You are incredible.
you sing very well, great and good job
wow this is amazing
fantastic job!
Excellent harmony!
I never realized how hard it is to sing with harmony until I tried singing along with this. :$
I learned The Sound of Silence in no time singing-wise, but this one is more difficult...I've got some parts, though. Another great vid, thanks!
Could you do a tutorial on the intro please? I think its the best version out there !! Great playing. Cheers
Excellent thank you.
Nice picking...I'd like to learn this one too (I'm working on "Kathy's Song" now).
Awsome job, You've inspired me to learn this, Thanks
Very Nice. No big ego, just a little help to aspiring guitarists. Thanks!
Thank you so much. Great guitar play.
clap clap clap BRAVO ! clap clap clap ENCORE ! you are a pro !
that is top shelf very good job

Great job!
I think you are awesome!!
Awesome!!!!
Thank you for this… I DO have to perform it in C, which is a slight stretch for me. You're playing C positions, but you're tuned down to B aren't you? like S & G, It makes it easier. Good solid picking, thanks, Clarence.
So groovy !
you do a good job on a good, tough song.
awesome
Sweet mate !!!!
well done

great video

I think it's because it's like singing lower harmony, which I am terrible at.
I find for me to do successful harmony singing, I only know my part so when I hear those chords that's where my throat goes (with confidence hopefully). I'm not solid enough to change positions too often.
i want to know whats going on when you play G chord
btw great cover man :3
yes thanks for that,
but there are so many different tabs out there i just wanted to know the tab u used
Thanks so much!
Right on brotha'
Hi, you play it almost perfectly, where did you find the tabs?
The song was originally written and performed in the key of B Major, but due to tape-speed variation, sounds about a quarter of a semitone closer to C Major. If you can sing the harmony better, paxpaul, I invite you to post a video.
great stuff
but for us who would like to learn to play it the question is -----where can we get the tabs?
that's a nice tacoma there, i have one like that...
how much did you buy that tacoma for?
did a great job,,not a very easy song to sing and play,,,esp arts part
i can´t find that firsts tones...damm
oh wow.........
I just want to ask. The orginal song is in Eb. What key is the harmony being sung? Thanks
He did it in D# which is the same thing.
good ear!!
he's singing the harmony.
is that a tacoma pk30 model?
Hi, are you singing the Paul' s part ??
the best thing about youtube is it would of taken me a long lomg time to sus this one out ,we can look at that and learn a acre a day more,5 star
Singing is a little of key at times but your playing is stellar. Good job!
You do realize that he’s singing the harmony part, different notes from the main melody? He’s spot on, very difficult to do while playing at the same time. If you were to sing the main melody to his video and record yourself, you’ll be surprised how good you sound together.
what is the picking pattern?!?!?!?
U mean this is a key "B" ?
This is Clarence from Hong Kong
dont say o my god bigbear its against the 2nd comandment
thats nice guitar play man
try to sing it lower it will sound better but very nice man
Not bad
sometimes u were too high.. that's not good for the harmony but guitar playing is good
he's doin d second voice of d song..try to sing it you'll blend with him.
Hes just a child who thinks cursing makes you cool. He has yet to learn that it really does the opposite
are u recordinfg in the bathroom?
Pointing out, in a good performance/cover, that it's in the wrong key is very nit picky and snobbish. A cover is a cover for a reason. It's NOT the original. Leave it be.
You are right at accords, but you don't right on tunes,sorry..
+Apostolia1968 In English please.......
he is singing at least an octave higher than he shoulld be.
I disagree with Azdv he is clearly sharp on the high notes, like he is straining to reach them. If he had transposed to a lower key he could have done a better job of singing. Baritones should never try to hit a Tenor's high notes. At a lower key his voice would be so much better.
