Small problem is that he has flowers in his left hand and his mother in his right hand where was he supposed to do with both hands full he had to leave his cover on

Required outside irrespective of the uniform worn - exception in hazard areas like flight lines where could be FOD (foreign object damage) if sucked up into a jet engine, but off when inside, with the possible exception of ceremonial duty assignment.

Very touching and a great surprise for the mother but the soldier forgot one thing his cover not to wear his cover indoors correct me if Im wrong but military regs state one shall not wear ones cover indoors unless under arms

Marines have one sharp uniform. Actually, all the service uniforms are great, I just like this one.
If you bring roses, are in uniform and you suprise your mother on Mother's day you are always good. Welcome home Marine have a great time.
