I got my Chapman Ghost Fret from Riff City too. They were great on the phone and shipped it out very quickly. As for the guitar, I am beyond thrilled with it. I got their last west coast tour Ghost Fret so I saved a bit on it. Absolutely stellar instrument, it plays like a dream. With the coil tapped Duncans, it can do so many different tones too. Anyone in the market for a high quality guitar at a reasonable price, give Chapman and Riff City a look.

How do you order one of Chapman's guitars?? I'm having trouble finding them online to purchase and ship to me! They look amazing!

You should also be able to find them at andertons.co.uk. I think they ship all over the world, and last I checked their shipping costs were pretty tame (at least from the UK to Norway).

The three I know are Riff City Guitar (US), Andertons (UK) and Thomann (Germany) and at least one of these will probably ship to your location.

Thanks everyone! I checked the Riff City site, so i'll definitely be saving up for the Ghost Fret. The Explorer was always my favorite guitar body so having that natural wood finish looks amazing.

Damn that's sexy. I find this funny because I put in an order from a great luthier for a custom 7 string explorer with swamp ash, 24 frets, reverse headstock, and loaded with bkp's 6 months ago. Shortly after that I saw this guitar and had a wet dream and realized you can never have too many explorers.
Today's mt birthday AND I got a Ghost Fret last week. Loving the guitar and this video Glenn.

Excellent unboxing, Glenn. You should have come to The Whisky on the Sunset Strip, when Rob Chapman, Rabea Massaad, and the guy from Riff City Guitars was there. You could have played a wide variety of Chapman guitars. It was cool to meet "Chappers."
This video gives me confidence to buy a Chapman via mail. For decades, I've always needed to buy a guitar in-person. I've played Gibson Les Paul Customs that sucked, and others that are really awesome.
I had no idea [and didn't think to ask anyone] that Chapman does a complete setup before they send it to you. I am not so confident that anyone else does that, so this is the icing on the cake.

The fidelity in the recording has to be spot on, I've seen this very guitar on a couple other reputable channels, and they sound really close to each other. That being said, I'm not really blown away, to me sounds like cheaper Ltd with emgs, but maybe the playability factors in here, as I understand the axe is well set up. Would love to try in person, reviews are so hard to go off of.
Guitarworks in calgary is also a chapman dealer in the canada.
I dont have any specific comment or question, just a general request for some more coverage of stoner/doom specific gear/tones/etc.

There's one thing i hate about the ghost fret... the reverse headstock, flip it, and it would be my dream guitar! :P
Your left hand is already under the headstock. When it's not reversed you have to lift your arm up and rotate your wrist down to tune.
+Tobias TK aesthetics? otherwise, tuners on a reverse headstock are usually more comfortable to tune with, so I can understand the decision why they use reverse headstocks.
Well, opinions are everywhere, i think that normal headstocks look better too

Part of me was secretly hoping you'd open the case and find an ML-3RC to keep the 'Unboxing a signature guitar but finding a different signature by the same artist but a dramatically different body shape' trend going.

very very minor gripe, but would have preferred to see the Opening side be on the length side and the side with the handle of the case be marked so you could cut there and pull the case free by the handle, again if that is the biggest gripe there is about it, then riff city is doing something right

I had to set up a brand new one in my workshop ! It did not have a list of 'ticked off' checks.
The guitars are okay - not brilliant - they are as good as most other guitars of that value on the market.
I was shocked to see no import duty levied on this - If I have something shipped to me from USA/Canada - I get stung about 23% when it hits the UK shores.
Import duty is something you need to consider when ordering out of your own country.
I know a few people who like Chapman guitars, they are very like Cort guitars or some schecters. I believe the same factory makes them.
As a PLUS to them - they put in genuine Seymour Duncans and not crappy 'Duncan Designed'.
+Phil Docker World guitar in Korea. Also make ltd, prs, schecter etc. Chapman sigs are on par or nicer than some ltd deluxe models but more affordable unless you buy clearance deluxe models. Chapman also uses hipshot hardware and 18/1 grovers which are decent

Rob comes across as a really humble person and loads of people who have met him say the same. He may have other flaws but narcissism isn't one of them.

Wow tiff city seems like a great place to buy guitars :) they set up and check it works for you, that's really neat if they actually do that :) I bought a hellraiser extreme c1 fr from guitar center and had to pay 120$ more to set it up and stuff. Onto pig the 1200$ it was worth ;~; I don't buy from guitar center no more or any U.S store anymore. I just buy cheap guitar from China ;~; China is really cool and sells good stuff sometimes :)

Hi there Glenn. I've got a question for you about recording heavy (and not only heavy, let's say just driven) guitars on amps with no master volume control. What would You do if, for example, I came to your studio with a vintage Marshall Plexi willing to record some 70ties stuff using the warm and gritty overdrive comming outta this massive el34 quartett? As far as I've seen You rather don't use maximal or submaximal volume levels on your 5150 for example.
