Good people deserve good friends; and I’m so so glad Tavarish, Jared, and Jack found each other! Made for some amazing content, but I’m so happy these highly skilled good people found each other!
I would add a roll bar to this. There's barely any structure left in that rear (of the cabin). This would also serve to tie everything together with the right amount of tabs added to it. Can be retrofitted even if the car's done.
Rather than sawing big holes into their freshly rived aluminum, in order to properly install a structural roll bar, I would probably go with some underbody stitch welding of the seams and subframe connectors. I might have also used some panel bond on the riveted parts, but that's water under the bridge...
The location between the cab and the wheel wells isn't all that usable anyway, and adding a roll bar there would certainly add some structure that is missing. One possible place to triangulate a roll bar would be to tie into the tops of the rear shock mounts. While you're in there, you could also upgrade the shocks and if you add airbags inside the springs, it would make the ute's bed much more usable for hauling stuff. This would also be a good time to add a receiver hitch. What's a truck that can't tow?
@@TheKiltedYaksman1 this kit looks great for looks, not so great structurally. Steel panels and reinforcements pieces welded together, would ensure it working as a proper pick-up. Not that great with rivets and glued panels.

The UTE or Coupe Utility came about in 1933 when an Australian farmers wife from Gippsland, Victoria wrote to Ford Australia and asked if they would design a vehicle that could take her to Church on Sunday and the pigs to market on Monday. Ford Australia liked the idea and handed the project to designer Lew Bandt. He removed the back of a coupe and formed a well back tray in its place. The new Ford UTE went into production in 1934 and the legend of the great Aussie UTE began. Your pronunciation of UTE is correct.
starts life as a "movie car" and a police car, the best parts of both get merged to make a working car, but said car becomes a road block for a tree and safes several other cars, it then becomes a police car, movie car, ute.

My mate in America, got his 3 months ago, and his neighbours can't stop pawing over it.. they can't understand why it handles so well, and does 0 to 60 in 4 seconds.. on street legal tyres..
It's not really an original idea. I love how Jarrod is just like a kid on Christmas, and in the previous videos you can really see how much he truly cares about this vehicle, I felt so bad for him. I'm glad y'all were able to bring it back and make into something even more special :-)
What a cool conversion to rehab your damaged Charger! I do wonder about structural strength after you chopped out so much sheet metal. Can you weld in subframe connectors?
The aluminum bed that's put back in brings the strength back. Best to install it with 3m panelbond though , it'll be really solid. I'd wager my Mk4 chassis is stiffer now than when it had a roof. You can jack up a front wheel ,go to the back and teeter it back and forth on the jack.
A guy in our town has one of these conversions on an SRT8. Because of the power he has a role cage like structure that is the back wall of the cabin and the “box” of the rear end. When I first saw his I’ve wanted to build one. I’ve always loved El Caminos, Rancheros and Utes.
I love how one of the Australian commenters said on the first video "Turn it into a Ute!" So Kool that you're doing just that. Big thumbs up to our brothers down under.
Add a roll cage with a bar exposed slightly above roof line for lights and extends to rear frame for rigidity. Maybe hide partly behind panels? Build seems dangerous if crashed from rear end?
I have seen one of these conversions at a big car show in Plain City Ohio.. i was stunned by this conversion.. it took me a while to get my head around what it was and how it became the Mopar version of a Ranchero.
Now to finish off the Ute build, fix it up for Wasteland Weekend! (post-apocalyptic madness / mayhem in Mojave Desert in September). I want to see this crew dressed up as road warriors!
I just hope the wasteland weekend doesn't get to be like to commercialized. But I always enjoyed about that event I was kind of a bunch of people who like to build or into weird crazy vehicles mad Max style all very unique and done by backyard mechanics and hacks. But would suck to see you start seeing somebody's bigger companies build cars just for that where they go out and spend Gaga amount of money and that's not the whole point of it it sucks some things become popular and it gets ruined because of that and I hope that never happens to this. Can name bunch of things that turned into a shit show after people with money get involved Coachella burning Man to the biggest crap shows to go to now but back in the day for fun it's
Good luck getting access to the rear turrets when it comes time to change the rear suspension. Apart from that it looks awesome, and I'm glad Jared was so happy with it.
This is one of the coolest things I've seen (automotively speaking) in a long time! It's the automotive equivalent of a mullet... Can't wait for the completion and the test drive! One question: Do they supply the back window?
What an awesome build. Love the MCM shirt. Payload calculations the south African way. Carry on adding weight until the tyres are smoking on the inside of the wheel wells or the rear end is dragging on the road that's max load 😂
Everyone, the bed floor is removable so you can access the battery, and the struts bolt in from the bottom up so nothing is covered!
Is it made from stainless? You guy didn't prime any of the panels. Thanks, car looks 'Heeps better' as someone w/ a Ute would say.
Its great Aussie slang a ute
Aren't you going to end up with a pool of water in the spare tire well just hanging out with those electrical cables and the battery?

When you make a new design for roadblock it should say "Technically a Truck is the best kind of Truck"
I love how Jarrod is just like a kid on Christmas, and in the previous videos you can really see how much he truly cares about this vehicle, I felt so bad for him.
I'm glad y'all were able to bring it back and make into something even more special :-)
Building a Ute without making any reference to Australia is indeed a questionable choice. X)
The unobservant making comments about references is a questionable choice. Check out Jack's shirt in the closing scene.
Jack building a ute in a MightyCarMods t-shirt. Completely appropiate 👌
Literally to the 1% who's reading this, God bless you, and may your dreams come true, stay safe and have a wonderful day
God bless you
@@Uptown8ighty8ight thank you
Hell yea!! Jack repping a MightyCarMods shirt!!!
just re-brand the shirt as a road block memorial shirt
What a cool conversion to rehab your damaged Charger! I do wonder about structural strength after you chopped out so much sheet metal. Can you weld in subframe connectors?
The aluminum bed that's put back in brings the strength back.
Best to install it with 3m panelbond though , it'll be really solid.
I'd wager my Mk4 chassis is stiffer now than when it had a roof.
You can jack up a front wheel ,go to the back and teeter it back and forth on the jack.
Tavarish: "WE turn the charger into a Ute".
Jake and Jared: Doing all the work while Tavarish is mostly "supervising".....
Full points for the MightyCarMods shirt Jack! And yes its UTE, this is a common term from the same place MightyCarMods is made.
The mightycarmods shirt is awesome 😎. This "ute" is cool and the fact y'all did it so quickly is awesome too.
Really enjoyed this one Jared. The perfect fix for roadblock. Might handle like a unicycle under power though!
Cheers 🇨🇦
I’ve had 1000LBS in the bed of my Charger Ute. They are so versatile and draws a ton of attention. So glad you joined the family Jared
We are just getting started!
@@TheQuestionableGarage awesome!
I love how happy Jared is! Such a cool project.
Awesome Build glad you guy's saved the car.
@24:27 I had no idea that you can use heat to re-shape glass fibre! You learn/forget something every day :)
Ooooh Jared, you absolute happy son of a gun.
Roadblock is a Phoenix now, what a Be-UTE!
11:27 the black fender/quarterpanel/whatever and the wheels with hubcaps -> AWESOME!
Come to think of it, she ̶n̶e̶e̶d̶s̶ ̶ deserves white wall tires for full blown utter sexyness!
Not the charger we wanted but definitely the one we need and it looks awesome!!! Great work guys!!! Keep it up and I can't wait to see it finished!!!
The "Vinny" pieces you threw on cracked me up. Great movie. Loving this new direction roadblock has gone.
