The first one lol, add being voluntarily humiliated by teachers to "work on my stutter" or being told to keep running cause "it's not really asthma, I know my kids had it"

@ 6:36 I was today years old when I realized it was a game and not people being mean. I too was the person that always handed the hat back. That game always ended with me. I graduated 10 years ago. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid and I have a few autistic cousins so this sort of stuff runs in the family.

I still use ADD to describe myself because if I say ADHD ppl will assume hyperactive type and 'ADHD inattentive type' takes too fucking long to say in casual conversation

5:06 for the end of the person talking about hearing aids and autism and dating or whatever, I couldn't concentrate. The background noise is horrible my whole body hurts and I wanted to leave a time stamp so other people can skip it if it bothers them too :)

Yes but I've been diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. How am I supposed to say that then?! You can't say: oh this is insulting so don't use it. But I have it! How do I even refer myself to others?!
Edit: apparently it's an outdated term, and it should be referred as ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) but still it doesn't make any sense. Because I see ASD as a much broader term. It can mean so many things. Because it includes all sorts of disorders in it. Now if people start saying that the word disorder is offensive and shouldn't be used. Y'all are too sensitive. Because my tiny ass brain can't be forced to find other more complicated ways to express myself other than use literal interpretation of words.

ASD can present differently in different individuals (that's why the "Spectrum" is in the name), but it's all still just autism, and it doesn't include other disorders in it. Aspergers is now just called autism (bc yes, Aspergers is outdated)
I hope this helped! if you have any other questions/concerns and I know the answer to them I'd be happy to answer :)

@@tobio_kageyama yes but after reading a bit about it asperger and autism are similar but not the same thing! It's just so confusing to me.

@@nikitatavernitilitvynova I mean typically Aspergers was given as a diagnosis to people who were more "high-functioning" and didn't have as many speech difficulties (I guess this also includes people who could mask well?). And also Aspergers was considered a subcategory/type of autism
I put the functioning label into quotes bc high- and low-functioning labels are harmful, and it's better to use high/low support needs (and support needs can even vary depending on the day)
frankly a lot of research done on autistic people was done on middle-class, white, young boys, and because that has caused so many biases, there's a LOT that we've yet to learn.
If you prefer using Aspergers or functioning labels for yourself though, then do what feels comfortable. Yeah sure maybe the labels are outdated, but if you feel more comfortable with those terms, then you can do what you want .
I would just suggest looking into other autistic ppl's experiences as well though, but not looking into some websites bc a lot of "help" for autistic people is just hate groups in disguise (like Autism $peak$) who treat autistic people terribly.
An autistic person who I really like is Chloe Hayden, she has a channel here on YT.
      Good luck!

@@nikitatavernitilitvynova Aspergers is and always has been the exact same thing as Autism. Always. The only reason the Aspergers diagnosis came into being was because Hans Asperger played God and sent "unvaluable" autistics to die in the holocaust and kept the "valuable" (aspies) to be indoctrinated into the reich. It is the same thing.

    • @XSR_RUGGER

As an autistic person with ADHD I find none of these offensive. There are many studies done on people in the past that were immoral but we don't throw away the research because of it. I don't think it's glorifying Hans' name to have it attached to a certain set of characteristics within a group of neurodivergent peoples. Presenting the change in terms to people because it better qualifies and describes the disorder is great but saying it's offensive is silly in my opinion. They're just words. Now if people treat you different because of it, that's different and could absolutely be offensive.
