Wow just seeing this out of the box ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.
Yes it will heal. Trout are very hardy fish/predators. I have ice fished for trout for over 30 years and have never caught one that size. Good on ya for putting him back, although I was firing up the grill lol.
They ain't good if you ask me!!!! They let the fish touch the ice which instantly freezes the skin!!!. The first fishes find were caked in ice!!!! And its eyes were in the wind for wayyyyyy to long. If your hands were freezing that trout wont stand a chance once shes back in the water!!!!
Really neat to watch the second one swim back down. Only way to fish superior with its crystal clear water is inside a hutt with the ice shovelled off. Congrats on some seriously beautiful lakers!
Even though its a fools game (been doing it for 48 years...lol) RESPECT GUYS!! Letting them go is very very cool! Those were all active breeders and one should only eat the small ones of the LT. Well done!!
Great editing man. I thought it was a professional add at first; by that I mean, it was very well done. Keep up the good work and I bet it will pay off. On the other hand, those were beautiful fish and you earned yourself a new subscriber.
Yes, we decided that was what would be in the best interest of the fish; with such an old fish, rather than ripping part of the jaw and not having regrowth, we decided to cut the line as close to the hook as possible, let the enzymes in the fishes jaw, water and Mother Nature deteriorate the hook. In a few weeks time this will much more beneficial to the fish. Thanks for your concern though.
TroyBob No one ever heard of 'side cutter' type pliers? I also read an article where hooks with the newer metals don't rust out like older hooks used to.
Thats some awesome lake trout! I respect anglers who use C&R but Im wondering, how cold is the air temperature? Notice that eyes gets ice/snow on them, that may cause permanent burns. And how well does the gills work after that cold air? Is there ice on them as well? I don't want put your video or fishing techniques down, I just want to know if you have addressed these questions your self?
Good job but how did you pull that monster in with your hands now that you can tell if they are a pro or not and I'm telling you, you must be a pro at this stuff that thing is insane
That thing is a monster I live in northern Wisconsin about 2 hour drive South of th UP and thought I had caught some monster lake trout! NOPE! NOT EVEN CLOSE!
Its ice fishing so the fish can only generate about 20% of their normal power. I went fishing in a cold front in FL and was dragging gator trout on top of the water they were so lathargic. Thats when I quit fishing from Jan and Feb, no sport.
@vibratingstring A gator trout is a speckled trout over 20 inches. If I recall correct you can keep 4 like 15-20 inches and 1 over 20 inches. When they are over 20 inches they are called gator trout.
Ah people why can’t appreciates such awesome guys catching big fish?

You guys are true fishermans you released that big monster ur awesome guys ☺
A hook that will disintegrate and fall out in a few days. Hooks are made to do that.
How about a ripped Gill? Look at its gill bleeding from being picked up by the gill? Will that heal too?
Yes it will heal. Trout are very hardy fish/predators. I have ice fished for trout for over 30 years and have never caught one that size. Good on ya for putting him back, although I was firing up the grill lol.

Great editing man. I thought it was a professional add at first; by that I mean, it was very well done. Keep up the good work and I bet it will pay off. On the other hand, those were beautiful fish and you earned yourself a new subscriber.
huge catches I really like the fact your catch and release thanks for the enjoyment
+Guardian Mn i agree if you keep the fish you better eat it
Huge nice fish!!!
cut the barb off the hook and pull the hook out prior to release.
At 1:26 if you pause and look closely you can see a fish that was frozen in the ice
+CrashTestFetus I wonder if you could eat it.
+Jaki あほ Good question. Would it be i dunno "freezer burned"?
CrashTestFetus iii
CrashTestFetus thats an air bubble in the ice u knob
For not having a large Chanel nice videos
5:00 Jarek Wujkowski from Poland master of masters !! xD
Nice fish guys
please tell me what you guys use
Sweet video!!
You released the 1st laker with the treble still in the outside of the jaw? Not cool at all.
That it what the DNR recommends anglers do. Pulling that treble out of the soft tissue will do too much damage.
TroyBob No one ever heard of 'side cutter' type pliers? I also read an article where hooks with the newer metals don't rust out like older hooks used to.
+SurfNTurf54482 they grow out
+RodsBent The dumbest thing I've ever read.
Great fish Monsters Great Job. New Sub
Gotta love Lake Superior
Beautiful fish you guys
Thats some awesome lake trout! I respect anglers who use C&R but Im wondering, how cold is the air temperature? Notice that eyes gets ice/snow on them, that may cause permanent burns. respect for releasing it
Lloyd, did you just fart?!
Maybe... Lol
3:45
that's awesome guys I need to go fish now haha
why are you not using a wet unhooking mat to protect the fish before release.
+MrHappygolucky99 yuck, you don't eat lake trout, and if you do, nothing over 20"..
+Dennis G Lake Trout taste really good.
Darkfire889 they're not very good and if you do eat them you would want a 16-20"er
+Dennis G "not very good" You must suck at cooking
+Dennis G They are awesome to eat at the right size. People are morons.
Congrats! X2!
Good job but how did you pull that monster in with your hands now that you can tell if they are a pro or not and I'm telling you, you must be a pro at this stuff that thing is insane
Nice! You guys handled fish so humanely!
Nice fish
good job that's huge!!!!!!!!!!!
That is some clear water
That thing is a monster I live in northern Wisconsin about 2 hour drive South of th UP and thought I had caught some monster lake trout! NOPE! NOT EVEN CLOSE!
I'm proud of you guys, preserve always the nature, beautiful fishes!
Nice video taking a huge risk with the single hole in big fish country
nice to see them go back alive but try barbless trebles at least
Why the fishes don't fight back?
@@wladyslawszpilman5869 almost instant unhooking and doesnt cause lasting damage

+NBK _PROWILL how
It's like he says it's a big fish but he pulls out a tiny blue gill😄
Nice to see they returned the Fish
question, can you keep them?
wow it is man fantasticcc VERY GOOD
Well done. Questions, are these fish siskowet strain (fat lake trout), or just really large lean lake trout?
The ones caught in this video are all siscowets
They are grossly fatty.
Where do you but the jigs and what depth of water were you fishing in
How do they catch these, the only thing I can catch is a goldfish 😰
Mason Shreeve WTF XD JK

At 3:27 when your pulling the fish up you were holding it by its gills does that hurt the fish?
Is the Rapala Jigging Rap good for Trout and Char?
