I just got a 2018 MT07 March 10Th and I got to say as my first bike it is amazing. It is a bike that you can learn on and continue to enjoy for many years to come.
Speaking of sound, the only room you have for meaningful improvement is audio recording. I was thinking after your videos the mt-07 doesn’t sound as good as I remember but I watched another video today of a guy that used a dedicated recorder for the audio and I was like ohhhhh there’s that beautiful sound

I had a K&N in my FZ-07 and removed it somewhat soon after learning some thigs. I dont recommend them. K&N filters have marginally larger holes in the filter material. Yes, it allows for more airflow, thus more performance, but that also means you get larger particles of debris in your engine. This can be the difference in how out of tolerance your valves will be at their check interval.
I also watch the guy you mentioned who just does pure sound videos with his Akra system. His channel is called RidePOV. It is true ASMR in that format. But you gotta do what he does and put a mic under the passenger seat or a mic with a fur wind cover attached to the passenger peg hanger.

I ordered a K&N air filter for my 2022 mt07 and shipped my ecm to 2wdw. Nells at 2wdw told me straight up to keep the factory air filter because the K&N shows zero improvement on their dyno. So there’s that.
Hey Iam thinking about removing the snorkel for more air intake, but some people saying that the snorkel is there so the air that goes in is colder . My question is is it better to leave it in or take it out ?
I added the middle size wind screen on mine (Puig I think is name brand) for looks and to keep debris out of the key opening. It doesn't do much but looks pretty good and will stop anyone from grabbing your keys and running off while stopped
Depends on the circumstances but for the most part it’s very very very safe to say 99% of people will FEEL a total of ZERO difference. Only when you’re dealing with turbo motors or motors that have been massively detuned can you really expect to have a tangible difference from this type of mod and very often the air intake mode will give you a bit more high end power but lose you torque down low. Regardless in the vast majority of cases you wouldn’t even notice a difference back to back riding each “version” & even if you do feel a difference you will instantly become accustomed to it & it won’t feel like some big difference compared to your memories of riding it before. You won’t ride it any different or be saying “wow I’m so glad I did that air filter now every time I beg on the bike it’s make I have a new motor that’s so much better than the original. This was a huge thing in the old days before forced induction was common & it was always funny to see the controlled tests done on car shows and in magazines where placebo was reliably FAR more of a power added than any type of AFS/AFR related mod short of one’s done on high performance engines that have been deliberately dialed back to a lesser state of tune for whatever reason.
Having said that, doing all of these mods together along with say a sprocket mod and a ECU flash will add up to a meaningful upgrade that’s absolutely worth doing. And the CP2 in the MT07 is a peach of a motor that absolutely deserves to be opened up
i have a stock 2015 mt 07 and up till 130 i keep up with my friends ducatie monster 1100cc and a naked honda 1000cc bike only when going higer speeds you see the difference but on the road i am not driving that fast max 180kmh
Wondering if you could help me out. Have a 2021 xsr. Same motor as you bike. Have the same exhaust as you but have the DNA stage 2 air filter . Was looking for a map for the power Commander 5 that would work for my setup. I don't have access to a dyno in my area. Thanks. Stay safe.
@@CycleCruza small overall gain in power 3-4 hp. What you really get out of it is top end. The bike will pull past 10k instead of falling on its face at 9k.
@@CycleCruza I had the Hordpower intake. There are dyno charts on Hordpowers site. Destroys a simple filter replacement. No power lost down low, nice gains in the mid range, and massive gains in the upper pms. I wouldn't recommend it for you though unless you get it dyno tuned. Your PV3 won't have that map and you don't like sending your ECU out.
are you planning to mod/add a windscreen and if yes what is the best for a MT-07? are you comfortable with the air punching you without it and at what speeds?
I think I'm setup my mt07 the same way as yours performance wise,I wanted a toce or SC for that sound of course but I think they might let out too much air... Awesome videos btw this has been really good for me as this will be my next bike!
how's BMC ? ... better than K&N or DNA air filters ? BMC for my Triumph Trident is coming tomorrow, also getting the AKRA full system Titanium installed, along with BMC
And yet almost every vehicle entered in the Baja 500 and 1000 since the early seventies is equipped with k&n air filters. David Vizard has a video that explains why these filters work so well on a running engine and yet they don’t on a flow bench.
Hey man I like your content. Just a safety to you and anyone else who does this. You cannot add throttle and lean angle they do not go together . If ur going into a turn, steady on the throttle hand (= smooth.). While goin into and maintaining ur lean angle. Adding throttle while you're adding your lean angle will have a bad outcome..

Honestly love your content but I think whoever said that comment about you can make videos of you just riding for the noise experience was definitely a good compliment but I could be wrong but I think you will lose people with that idea. Over saturated market and i never actually find the videos worth watching. I think your original content is better. Do you have a British patent by any chance? Or did you spend time in the UK as a kid? Or have a problem pronouncing T’s that requires speech therapy? I only ask because im picking up on something particularly when you say LeeTTTTTurr bikes and I’m a struggling to what I’m hearing. I am a speech therapist so it’s a topic of interest to me and mean nothing by it.
Better airflow will always give a horsepower gain. On a dyno with the MT07 you usually see anywhere from 2hp to 5hp gains. Not alot but definitely felt while out riding. As for other manufacturers dethroning the MT07. That sounds suspiciously made up as it's IMPOSSIBLE. Their all playing Among Us with the MT07 and their ALL the Impostor. The MT07 will forever be King of the Hill for hooligan middleweight naked bikes.
I'm going to try and get it on the dyno. The other bike brand can't duplicate the greatness of the MT-07. This bike is just special. People have to ride it to understand. You can't go by stats on paper with the MT-07.
K&N is garbage. Cotton plus oil is a big nono. Get yourself a Sprint P08 filter. Dry polyester fabric easily cleaned by blasting air on the inside of the pleats.

Yeah I removed mine and put the original back in as well. I bought it with the k&n already installed.

I ordered a K&N air filter for my 2022 mt07 and shipped my ecm to 2wdw. Nells at 2wdw told me straight up to keep the factory air filter because the K&N shows zero improvement on their dyno. So there’s that.

Hey Iam thinking about removing the snorkel for more air intake, but some people saying that the snorkel is there so the air that goes in is colder .
My question is is it better to leave it in or take it out ?

I added the middle size wind screen on mine (Puig I think is name brand) for looks and to keep debris out of the key opening. It doesn't do much but looks pretty good and will stop anyone from grabbing your keys and running off while stopped
Depends on the circumstances but for the most part it’s very very very safe to say 99% of people will FEEL a total of ZERO difference. Only when you’re dealing with turbo motors or motors that have been massively detuned can you really expect to have a tangible difference from this type of mod and very often the air intake mode will give you a bit more high end power but lose you torque down low.
Regardless in the vast majority of cases you wouldn’t even notice a difference back to back riding each “version” & even if you do feel a difference you will instantly become accustomed to it & it won’t feel like some big difference compared to your memories of riding it before. You won’t ride it any different or be saying “wow I’m so glad I did that air filter now every time I beg on the bike it’s make I have a new motor that’s so much better than the original.
This was a huge thing in the old days before forced induction was common & it was always funny to see the controlled tests done on car shows and in magazines where placebo was reliably FAR more of a power added than any type of AFS/AFR related mod short of one’s done on high performance engines that have been deliberately dialed back to a lesser state of tune for whatever reason.
Having said that, doing all of these mods together along with say a sprocket mod and a ECU flash will add up to a meaningful upgrade that’s absolutely worth doing. And the CP2 in the MT07 is a peach of a motor that absolutely deserves to be opened up
i have a stock 2015 mt 07 and up till 130 i keep up with my friends ducatie monster 1100cc and a naked honda 1000cc bike only when going higer speeds you see the difference but on the road i am not driving that fast max 180kmh
Does that tuner adjust timing and the throttle? Just af isn't enough, nearly ever bike for emissions with wide open throttle it's actually at best 50%

Check into the healtech quick shifter for the cp2 engine it works on the mt07 and the t7

Eh do you really think you gain with that? Has anyone dyno tested before and after with that mod?
@@CycleCruza small overall gain in power 3-4 hp. What you really get out of it is top end. The bike will pull past 10k instead of falling on its face at 9k.
@@CycleCruza I had the Hordpower intake. There are dyno charts on Hordpowers site. Destroys a simple filter replacement. No power lost down low, nice gains in the mid range, and massive gains in the upper pms. I wouldn't recommend it for you though unless you get it dyno tuned. Your PV3 won't have that map and you don't like sending your ECU out.

are you planning to mod/add a windscreen and if yes what is the best for a MT-07? are you comfortable with the air punching you without it and at what speeds?
The air is unavoidable without a ridiculously sized touring screen. You just get used to it

I think I'm setup my mt07 the same way as yours performance wise,I wanted a toce or SC for that sound of course but I think they might let out too much air...

@@XRAYX 2WDW should be able to flash your ECU for you. I thought TOCE had their own fuel maps for FTECU or Power Commander.

Actually, the new 2021+ MT-07 has an ECU that will automatically adjust the a/f ratio, so no worries!

You will naturally sand your cylinder down using hi flo k &n filters they don't filter 99% of particles

And yet almost every vehicle entered in the Baja 500 and 1000 since the early seventies is equipped with k&n air filters. David Vizard has a video that explains why these filters work so well on a running engine and yet they don’t on a flow bench.

Hey man I like your content. Just a safety to you and anyone else who does this. You cannot add throttle and lean angle they do not go together . If ur going into a turn, steady on the throttle hand (= smooth.). While goin into and maintaining ur lean angle.
Adding throttle while you're adding your lean angle will have a bad outcome..

there is a bike only its a bmw it will ride good f900 r its like the mt 07 just 900cc and bmw so all the options on it(i live in eu so there not so exspencive)
K & N filters let dust through so the engine won’t last as long. You’re better off with an oiled sponge filter like Unifilter or Twinair.

Do you have a British patent by any chance? Or did you spend time in the UK as a kid? Or have a problem pronouncing T’s that requires speech therapy? I only ask because im picking up on something particularly when you say LeeTTTTTurr bikes and I’m a struggling to what I’m hearing. I am a speech therapist so it’s a topic of interest to me and mean nothing by it.
Better airflow will always give a horsepower gain. On a dyno with the MT07 you usually see anywhere from 2hp to 5hp gains. Not alot but definitely felt while out riding. As for other manufacturers dethroning the MT07. That sounds suspiciously made up as it's IMPOSSIBLE. Their all playing Among Us with the MT07 and their ALL the Impostor. The MT07 will forever be King of the Hill for hooligan middleweight naked bikes.
I'm going to try and get it on the dyno. The other bike brand can't duplicate the greatness of the MT-07. This bike is just special. People have to ride it to understand. You can't go by stats on paper with the MT-07.

K&N is garbage. Cotton plus oil is a big nono. Get yourself a Sprint P08 filter. Dry polyester fabric easily cleaned by blasting air on the inside of the pleats.
