First off, I'm GLAD the rider is OK and can walk/ride away from the crash. Secondly, he did (rightfully) get an earful for crossing over the line. It's not about belittling anyone. Work on your skills, don't get in over your head and stay in your lane, even if it means having to go slower then you wish to.
Yes...he wasn't cornering hard enough to low side on the asphalt. When he realized how far he was into the other lane he tried to drift back without standing it up a little to go over the stripe...no traction there.
Disagree. Wrong pody position, braking hard, loading the front end and simultaneously leaning in and giving throttle. There is no back tyre and suspension set up that could grip in this scenario.

@@tabithiajones2511 It loads up the front, unloads the back, and stands the bike up. All this moves the weight off the rear. Just before the crash he slowly apply gas ,that the rule he didn't break, wither say same rpm or slowly apply gas. If you have better tire apply more. I think i have the same tore as his. But mine is over 4 years old, showing cracks, stiff, currently my shop taking over a business day to change my tires. In the video he wasn't leaning to the edge, more like leaning to the point the tore can't handle the lean and the acceleration. This happemed to me a few times: I was leaning pretty far, then I start felling the treads, because they aren't slicks, right after that I felt tiny bit of slip, then I quickly pick up my bike. The rear tire sucks even my front shinko grips more: after a long ride you can see the sides wall showing orange skin/or rough sand paper texture, not smooth looking when was cold.
@@suparosc02 what are you even arguing here? I never said anything about sicily. Im just saying cool your ego when flamming someone whos literally only pointing out observations about the crash.
Just before he crashed he got off the throttle as well, you can see it in the slow motion, with the weight getting off the rear tyre he instantly lost grip on it.
his rear isn't yet on the paint and his body position (while bad) isn't so extreme that it is 100% to blame. look at the divots in the pavement. you see one go under the wheel just as it steps out. if you've ridden on those thing things, you know it's a pretty major drop.
The second most important reason not to cross the yellow line is......It is slippery. When you are on the edge of traction, with a few percentage points left, crossing over that line at full-tilt will slam you down every time.

I was lucky enough to ride up to Little Talladega one day about 8 years ago. Ducati was there giving test rides ON THE TRACK! I rode that 848 and parked my 996. The bike was fantastic, would do everything for you. The leaps and bounds being made constantly are stuff we dreamed about in the 70's. Guy should have done a riders school on track with school's 650SV for a long day before buying that!
it actually get's tighter at the end, so that throws people's judgement off. We have a road where I live with a turn like that. It eats a lot of cars and bikes. My friend flipped his truck three times going around it.
I think it's just a young guy who doesn't rides to good. You see it how he rides the corners...he is glad to corner them and then he hit the slippery line ...
@@MK-sk2mi It really just depends. If you are serious about riding and have past experience i would reccomend getting a Ninja 300cc or 500cc. Those can still lean at 30-60mph and reach 90mph with ease. 500cc can easily hit 120. I started off on a 200cc, then after about 5 days I went on my dads BMW 1200cc cruiser. Then 2 years later I upgraded to a Ducati.
When you ride you get passed a lot, especially on an harley boat so if he passed them cleanly i don't see why you would be happy to see another rider down...
+Denis Gavrilov He tucked the front end in. The contact patch wasn't on the line. That's poor riding skill on his part. If you're on any turn you have to have to allow for the trailing edge of the tire to make contact.
ib spoolin The line is slippery enough to cause traction loss even when its dry especially at a lean angle like that...you can clearly see that once he hit the line the bike completely let go.
As is so often the case, his riding skill is inversely proportional to the cost of his bike. A near new Ducati trashed by a fool who doesn't know what he's doing. Hilarious to see, considering that his incompetence didn't hurt anyone else.

I completely agree with the guy being cross. If you cross lanes you are putting others in danger aswell not just yourself. If you have a legendary piece of road you dont want motorcyclist cause a bad name for doing stupid shit like this! Just because he did a stupid thing does not mean everyone should have pity for him..
Everybody, I mean everybody who rides a motorcycle on the public roads has crossed the centre line at some time. He didn't do it on purpose, he just got it wrong, he didn't do a 'stupid thing', just made a mess of it. You only saw him take one corner on that whole road and you judge him from that? Also the fact it's well known that camera guys hang out at that corner will put people off, they might not want to be videoed but they don't really have any say in that.
The guy with the camera needs to shut up and go back to taking pictures. The guy cut over because he was losing control of his bike. I'm sure the fact his new bike is ruined is enough to make him feel bad about what happened.
warren davis You don't have to go "fast" on a bike to lose control. When it comes to motorcycles a mistake at any speed can result in you to losing control of it. This goes double on turns. His mistake was approaching the corner at the wrong angle which caused him to go over the double yellow. Then when the road/bike started straightening out he went back over the double yellow and lost rear traction on the painted lines.
JamandTheHolograms then the idiot rider needs to go back to a scooter and relearn how to ride. one rule to riding is that if you cant control a bike DONT RIDE. also the guy lost the bike AFTER he was on the wrong side of the road. what would you have said if a car took him head on? this rider is an idiot and he shouldnt be riding if he cant keep it on the right side of the road.
Yeah yeah, everyone on youtube is an expert and absolutely no one on a bike has ever made a mistake ever and if they do than they need to go ride a scooter, even Motor GP racers that make simple riding errors and end up losing because of it.
JamandTheHolograms Sigh, arguing for the sake arguing? Please, review the vid again - the guy WAS in control of his bike through the turn; crossing the line IS a no-no at the best of times, and if you can't stay in your lane (at speed or otherwise) you are going TOO fast, or an idiot, or both. He went through the turn in the wrong lane, through a turn that looks like it is partially blind, found oncoming traffic, grabbed some front brake (also a no-no when you are leaned over; you STRAIGHTEN the bike up under emergency situations THEN apply brakes), and just happened to cross the line at the same time, which ARE slippery. And using GP racers as a comparator is, well, not. My only guess is you are either the guy in the vid, or know him. And yes, I've made mistakes, but they were considerably faster, and on a track ONLY. Though without asshats like this, and insurance companies that write bikes off without a tick, where would be find such sweet track day bikes?
Bill Killernic To be fair he shouldn't have been crossing the lanes in a turn like that, but I agree cat eyes are lethal to bikes. I can't wait till they switch to fluorescent road paint and don't need them anymore.
he's like Im gonna buy a great bike, buy all the matching gears, take off the side stand, go to mulholland and show them how its done motogp style...FAIL.
Combination of accelerating and hitting the reflector. Is it certain that the reflector isn't there? Regular video speed you can hear that he's accelerating. Really surprised that he lost the front like that. Didn't look that far leaned over and expecting Ducatis to have somewhat sticky rubber.
***** Probably am an old curmudgeon. .......never dumb tho...perhaps callow. Riding stupidly on public roads may affect other innocent road users ? Prefer this kind of shit on racetracks.
Point I think hes trying to say is look where hes at a street not the track you guys get what you deserve I don't feel bad for someone who does canyon runs.. Keep in in the track or this will happen hes lucky someone car didn't hit him in the face!
Josh Smith I enjoy my bike as much as anyone else does the difference I dont drag anyone into my decision to speed everyone at the track knows the dangers and are willing to take them. You think the family who some ass whole slames his bike and kills a daughter or son knew???
I think he lost the front before touching the yellow line, He was leaning the bike way too far over, should be hanging off to create more contact on the tyres
Watching the slow mo of it, the rear starts to slip out a little, then as soon as it gets to the yellow strip he loses it. At least that is how I am seeing it... Doesn't matter. Either way, shit happens, and the hate for this guy in the comments are ridiculous.
The cat-eye road reflector broke the front loose, the slow motion tells the tale. I agree the road paint did not help either and contributed to his crash and not being able to recover.
It shitty that things like that have to happen before people listen. I've nearly low sided on more than one occasion on stripes here in Texas. Shit can be scary.
Get bitten by the snake once, shame on you, get bitten by the snake twice...You bit me once, you can't bite me again. Famous Quote slightly modified =-)
You can see in the slo-mo that the reason he crashes is because his wheels lost grip on the double yellow line (paint is less grippy than asphalt). He should not have crossed the middle line, and when he did, with lots of lean, wheels slipped.
wasn't touching the line or missing reflector at all when he slid out. watch it again. think he braked or something. look at 1:54 he bobbled, then 1:55 his rear was already in a slide 4-6" away from the line.

@@TheUrbanEpicure I could play that part. I don't have a bike but I've seen enough rnickeymouse videos and red the comments so that pretty much makes me an expert.
When you see there's no one in the opposite direction I don't care if you cross the line.
serves him right... hard braking into the corner, bad body positioning and then tries to force it on the paint... this novice scrub was doomed from the beginning... the heartbreaking thing is that a poor Ducati had to pay the price of an inexperienced rider
Lol I don't think anyone else pointed just how absolutely horrible that body positioning was, absolutely awful...
2ofEverything Yeah i don't know anything about riding on tracks and proper leaning and stuff like that but it even looked a bit off to me, growing up on dirt bikes just going over to road bikes now. I better look at some tutorials or something.
Bit harsh, but accurate. Going flat in corners is something you do on racetracks exactly for this reason: they are tailored and maintained for it, mountain roads are not. Sand, oil, and even the damn road lines are things you don't want when going flat....
Victor Kyrg true maybe a little harsh I hate wishing ill or injury upon any rider but when a guy is riding cocky but has no clue how to ride you almost wish there is something to tone back his ego with minor scuffs and scrapes rather than killing him... Some time learning at the track would serve this novice well
Moneybagzsz lol I'm the exact opposite I have raced track and rode street bikes since I was able to, and just moved to Utah and got a dirt bike for the first time almost a year ago and have been having a hard time with the completely different riding style... Although jumping is coming easier now, scared the shit outta me for awhile
When you see the body position from exiting the previous corner you already know he's gonna f*ck up
Im new to biking here, could you teach me how he could improve his body positioning? Thanks mate
@@6thmason646 he was stiff as a board for one, weight the foot pegs so your arms are free to steer the bike, and look where you want to go, I’d say he cut the corner cause he was going too fast judging by how stiff he was when he went down, remember to always stay loose on a bike man that’s where I’d start, if you wanna go fast go to the race track, stay upright homie 😊
@@TheTwoStrokePower nice! Thanks! Stiff riding is actually my biggest problem I’ve been told. Gonna work on it
The stiffness through his arms was steaming fuck up. I actually thought he was gonna throw the front end before he hit the line.
@@6thmason646 I found the best place to start is just doing the basic figures 8’s in a car park until it become so easy you can start playing around in the saddle. Then move on to perfect cornering. Not at speed, just smooth and flowing. The stuff everyone passes in their test and then forgets about. “If you can’t get the small things right, how are you supposed to go with the big stuff?”. Two things happen, you build confidence and you build skill. Repetition wis every time.

Yeah but everyone does Will, you get a bunch of guys doing pub crawls on bikes in North Queensland on a Sunday and splitting lanes don’t matter, if there’s a gap you go for it.
Yes.. The lines are slippery...
WezleyB in slomo you can see his back slipping hard b4 the line. He leaned it hard
eternyman Yes, at 1:55 he start to slipping.
WezleyB He was chopping the throttle on and off. When he realised he was running out of talent he rolled off which unloaded the rear. He them rolled on on the back started to slide.
More money than skills.
+Cheradanine Dude... watch the replay closely. Focus on the black reflectors making the front wheel pop up a little bit... that's causing the slide... and not anything else.
+Darude Sandstorm He fell off because he was a cockwomble with more money than sense or skills. The dude had no right to be on that bike or that road. He's going to get himself, or someone else killed.
The slide was caused by him not being able to corner or control his machine.
Least he's wearing full gear.
GrimmXD full gear??? lmmfao says the hole in his black ass pants😃😃😃😃
The cat-eye reflector was his downfall. Lane paint is slippery enough, but the cat-eye got his ass for sure.
Yes...he wasn't cornering hard enough to low side on the asphalt. When he realized how far he was into the other lane he tried to drift back without standing it up a little to go over the stripe...no traction there.
Agreed you see the bike become unstuck the second he passes over the cats eye. He deserves it for crossing lanes like that though
Well really, there is no RPM there (per description) so it would have to be the bituminous that got him
Disagree. Wrong pody position, braking hard, loading the front end and simultaneously leaning in and giving throttle. There is no back tyre and suspension set up that could grip in this scenario.
@@thanosferrarichanel He wasn't even toughing the brake. Rear wheel just lost traction. End of story.
Smashed the front brake right at the start of the corner and was chopping the shit outta the throttle through that corner, love the part where guy says "is that ur gear shifter?, well that's gone". Thanks for pointing that out mate hahah
Is that your, KICK stand?? 😁😂🤣
what did hitting the front brake do? Mess up his line?
@@tabithiajones2511 It loads up the front, unloads the back, and stands the bike up. All this moves the weight off the rear. At the same time he's blipping the throttle and trying to lean it harder to keep his line, the back end's already borderline sliding as he hits the cateye and centre line paint, that's enough to break traction and there's your gear shifter broken off.
@@tabithiajones2511 I don’t think it’s so much that he was using his front brake in so much as he was very choppy and ham-fisted. Like Jackie Stewart says, “You need to have finesse”...
Hmm he is making so many mistakes he could be an example in the twist of the wrist! But all jokes aside, I hope he learned from his mistake, and doesnt ride above his skill level again.
Skill level? Because the snake requires skills? Come over Sicily, let's do a bit of offroad together and then we can speak about skills.

I feel like he lost traction as soon as he went over the double yellow line
wasn't the painted lines that took him off but the piss poor body position and running out of skill and tyre.
Yeah you can see the rear of the bike is already stepping out before the line, probably relying totally on the DTC
Yeah I agree that throttle drop was his undoing, the paint sure as shit would have caused issue with that much lean tho if he stayed in it.
I think it's the road condition maybe more than just his skill.

Seems like that curve eats a lot of bikes.
it actually get's tighter at the end, so that throws people's judgement off. We have a road where I live with a turn like that. It eats a lot of cars and bikes. My friend flipped his truck three times going around it.
"mang, shit mang i lost it mang"
“Are you from Australia or Hong Kong?” Lmao. 😂😂
Like dropping a Ducati isn’t enough, he has to be lectured about his mistake as well.
He probably won't think going over the line was to blame for him lowsiding. A good lecture never hurt anyone
Don’t cut lanes
Don’t switch lanes on a blind turn
Don’t ride the paint on a corner
Three very rookie mistakes
He doesn’t deserve to be on a bike

@@MK-sk2mi It really just depends. If you are serious about riding and have past experience i would reccomend getting a Ninja 300cc or 500cc. Those can still lean at 30-60mph and reach 90mph with ease. 500cc can easily hit 120.
I started off on a 200cc, then after about 5 days I went on my dads BMW 1200cc cruiser. Then 2 years later I upgraded to a Ducati.

Some people just shouldn't own Ducatis....
Which is why you don't?
And a lot should only be allowed to ride with training wheels and a cage.
Love it when Ducati riders learn the hard way how to ride. The bike you ride doesn't give you entitlement over other riders.
0:40 That moment he wanted a new paint job. YELLOW it is!
His tire slipped out when he hit the yellow line. I never lean on those, they just feel slippery
+Denis Gavrilov slipped just before the line, was too timid with the throttle not consistent
Brandon Scales absolutely incorrect
Denis Gavrilov
From what I watched he slipped between 39 and 40 seconds, just before he hit the line.
+Brandon Scales slipped right on the line. No question about that
+Denis Gavrilov He tucked the front end in. The contact patch wasn't on the line. That's poor riding skill on his part. If you're on any turn you have to have to allow for the trailing edge of the tire to make contact.
When you see the camera guys slow the hell down 🤣 they aren't there to take cool photos of you to show your friends.
''You can't cross lanes like that, this is The Snake telling you'' LOL
Painted center line = slippery.
negative ghost rider! it's only slippery when its damp...this is just clearly rider error!
Damp or cold but I agree to a certain extent.
ib spoolin The line is slippery enough to cause traction loss even when its dry especially at a lean angle like that...you can clearly see that once he hit the line the bike completely let go.
For sure. It's paint. It's going to always be more slick.
Ethanmeister
Well imo, this is still rider error..you can clearly see him turning the clip ons left when your clearly suppose to counter steer
How cool his back protector is OUTSIDE the suit hehe
As is so often the case, his riding skill is inversely proportional to the cost of his bike. A near new Ducati trashed by a fool who doesn't know what he's doing. Hilarious to see, considering that his incompetence didn't hurt anyone else.
man ... i've heard that line from posers trying to sound cool so many times that it's getting old. saidas108 the rider is an idiot......even a 14 yo boy with a fucking mopped knows that you can't accelerate on paint lanes while turning...
We have different definitions of "idiot".
"legendary piece or road" lol. you tools take that area a little too serious. get over yourself the snake is pretty boring honestly
those painted lines are slick for sure
did that happen because of the late braking and the front end diving late into the corner?
Rookie mistake. He introduced more throttle and lean at the same time before even hitting his apex.
He also hit the paint, lost traction on the front from that as well
No he gabe a little gas mid corner. Wich lifted the front wheel
monatoetje pretty sure I just said that
@@VermothiaX said it to john
The guy with the camera needs to shut up and go back to taking pictures. The guy cut over because he was losing control of his bike. I'm sure the fact his new bike is ruined is enough to make him feel bad about what happened.
He wasn't going fast enough to lose control amigo; check out RUclips, that corner is famous for dropping bikes.
warren davis
You don't have to go "fast" on a bike to lose control.
Because some lessons are more expensive then others.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
he doesn't know how to ride, look how he brakes and acelerates
maybe but he slipped because of the metalic things between the lanes if the road didnt had those he would probably slip

Those yellow stripes can be slick as fuck. I've had my tail slide out a few times just passing traffic on back roads.
Either way, shit happens, and the hate for this guy in the comments are ridiculous.
yeh you are right, i didn't watch the slow mo before. He certainly has the balls for fast riding but he's doing it all wrong.

No shit, paint is slick! I love watching these videos..
What was the main reason for fall though? Choppy throttle?
was it the slick yellow line or did he slide before then
