"Some people look for a beautiful place...and others make it Beautiful".... you nailed it Will
I trying to exercise my editing skills a little more so i played around with it on this series. The uploads may take a little longer because of it but im pushing for quality, let me know what u guys think!
Wil Dasovich I think it’s awesome.
ayos n ayos 🤙🤙
U have d kobe bryant kinda style of tellin stories bro.. Great job.
Wil Dasovich awesome vlog already like a docu..alam mo yung feel na very real na tao..
Ayus tyong.. Thats my boy!!😁😁😄😄
I agree with you. Life is not about finding a beautiful place but making a place beautiful. It is the heart that separates good from the great.
I found myself crying in the end. I wanna go home. Even if we had to deal with poverty back in the Philippines, I've spent 22 years of my life happy. I miss you Lola!! (Grandma)
Here in North America we have something called a "High standard of life" but it is only related to material things. All streets are empty, you see only 100's of cars, people is always so crabby and cold, seems like nobody is happy here, what good is a fancy house, car of the year, money in the bank (which is not real, everyone pays with credit card), nice clothing, fancy restaurants etc, if happiness is not here? These Filipino people always don't have much, but the are way richer than us, because they are always happy and make it good with what they have. I worked with Filipinos here in Alberta and they are awesome, they become your friends and that's for life.
I agree sir, they might lack of material things but at the end of the day they are happy and intact with their love ones. unlike us here in the US, canada, you barely cant see people and no sense of neighborhood. i miss philippines, i miss my love ones back home.
Breinging on that's just what they look cu they stollen
Milton Ruiz I have lived all over the world and America is the saddest place I’ve lived..the Americans have no idea how miserable they are with their pathetically empty consumerism!!
beacuse i think most americans are brain washed that US is the best country in the world
I totaly agree with you, in your place it may be even better than Sweden where i live.
I live in Manila and been lost two times. Met nothing but nice people helping me out and finding me a bus home.
Jan Kenneth Hansen me too
Yeah its common for us Filipinos to help others
Is good in phillipines
That's not an issue. As a foreigner, I don't think you want to hang around there at night.

SO DANGEROUS
NOT!!!!!! I can't say this enough. Anyone that is coming to visit from abroad for the first time treat it like anywhere else you would go in the world! Dont go to places you're not supposed to go, be street smart, be respectful and the city will love you back. Manila is full of beautiful people and places that not many people seem to believe.
I love this city to bits
Bret Maverick well said, thats a generous compliment !! Our Warmest appreciation !

you're right Bitbit!!
Been to Phils many times & never felt threatened.... respect goes a long way & having family there helps too... some of the friendliest people I've ever met... I get homesick every time I leave there... cheers from Australia 😁
I was so guilty complaining about life but seeing these people makes me realized i do not have reasons to complain because these people were happy enough of what they have day by day. Naiyak ako! As in... 😭 Thanks Will for inspiring us! God bless you moreee... 🙏🏻
the comments from other countries are so Overwhelmed. me as a Filipino really appreciate all the positive comments, love lots
Nice people and nice country, from a Mauritanian who works with Filipinos since 2007.....You're pretty too.
The best people on the planet! love from the USA
Been there several times. I never felt threatened. I rarely have to even pay for my own drinks. The Borungay patrol knows me by name hahaha. I set up a table on the road with the Kuyas and drink Red Horse till dawn. Love it there!
Being a Malaysian, who used to be with foreign workforce, i can say that Pinoy are the most bubbly n hpy go lucky people
how dangerous manila is??
its just depending on how you treat them.. we Filipino are proudly to say that we respect those people who also know how to respect...😉😉
joefrey licop yeah i agrre
Also agree here...

It's been said, "it's all in your state of mind". Someones trash can be somebody else's treasure. That dirty Pasig river was their water park and had so much fun swimming in it. So if your thinking is positive your experience will be too and you can handle any real hardship you actually are going through. Filipinos in general have this positive attitude and are able to smile even in the most worst of times.
Sam Iam i hope that positive attitude includes having tight discipline for all individuals to be responsible of what is untrusted to us by God. A clean environment is one wy of showing that we really love our country.
From someone who lived in Manila for 6 months, The Philippines is safe. You still need to take precautions but this is no different to any other major city around the world.
well said
Thanks Wil 😊
That's right!
I'm staying here more than 6years I never had bad experience.. I love to live here
U frikin lying
Probably one of the best videos you ever made. It is truly about the people. No tourist spots just the life of our fellow Filipinos.
Why is your Tagalog so good? I’ve been married to a Swedish-Philippine for 17 years and I really try to learn the language and try my skills each time we go back to the Philippines, but I never speak as good as you.
My advice to you my friend is subscribe to Filipino Channel and pick only with tagalog dialect.or watch a movie with fernando poe jr.
The best way to learn Tagalog or other dialect is to go to the Philippines and drink with the locals. You'll learn a lot faster that way than taking classes because it's a fun learning process. Our brain tends to hold on to fun memories and the things that come with it.

You will learn better when you’re around them. When I’m in the Philippines my Tagalog significantly increases more every time I go because I’m surrounded by people who know it.
Tagalog is much easier to learn than the tongue twisting Chinese, Japanese or Indian languages.
Filipinos tend to smile even though they are in their lowest point of their lives. Thats just how Filipinos are. Even though they are feeling pain inside, they still wanna radiate positive vibes. Proud to be a Pinoy

PERSPECTIVE is a good word to use, I love when you say it could be sewage for others but it's a water park for some...(samtin' like dat) it is for the audience to feel and think the way they want to, the beauty is always what you see on it- di ba? Good job anak! excited with all your "sosyal/burgis" vlogs but somehow these grounded experience are what I am equally happy as well.
congrats mudra for raising a well grounded son

A lot of people, myself included, are much nicer and friendlier when drunk

Drinking liqour is the favorite pasttime in Manila, people are generous and very accomodating.

Every country, every city, every town, every village, every house has its share of good people and bad people. Majority of the people everywhere are good to each other, guests or strangers but if you are not lucky (anywhere in the world) you can get a taste of badness among people you meet or face. Well done.
Eto ang tunay na QUALITY video/vlog. Great cinematography, great content with great learnings. As a person with depression, nakakahanga yung laman nung video. Been to Manila several times, never had a problem! Had lots of fun....the traffic sucks!!
The conquest corrupted the money to build the highway
Haha so true! Specially when it count down for 100 and then u got 100 seconds to go
im a filipino and i really really hate the traffic too
🤣 yes...the traffic sucks big time...funny thing happened in Malate, my fiannce and I was in a cab, heavy traffic, and the cabbie was complaing and cursin in Tagalog...I'm thinking to myself, " is this his first time driving in Manila ?"

A closer look at the beauty of MANILA.
Just like that certain line in a song: "I KEEP COMING BACK TO MANILA"
As a provincial fellow growing up I often heard stories of how dangerous it is to live in the metro.
But once I got into college and went to Manila I was blown away.
Everyday just walking around and or taking a jeep/trike to get from place to place.
Eating lots of streetfoods from Quiapo, shopping in Divisoria, haggling medical stuff in the Bambang area.
Taking a stroll into the heart of Tondo and sharing experiences with good friends.
Going to QC to watch PBA games, window shopping in banaue where auto parts are priced fairly.
Lakwatsa into Makati and the beautiful infrastructures and bustling residential areas.
I will always treasure the time I spent there especially during my college years one of the very best times of my life.
Japan is my favourite country in the world but i spend a lot of time in The Philippines 5 months a year the people are great they may not have much but they are happy you can have a laugh with them looking forward to getting back.
Japan is the only country so far that i would like to visit again.been to dozens of countries already.but for retirement, ill choose the philippines for economic and health reasons!
Yeah its true, Philippine will also love you back when in good approach

Two words : Common Sense
As long as you have that, you'll have absolutely no problems in the Philippines

If your riding a jeepny and you’re sticking you hand out with jewelry, they can drive by then cut off you hand

Dear Wil, I was having a really tough morning today, then I watched this. Suffice to say I’m feeling SO MUCH BETTER!! Thank you, my young brother!
My wife is from Nueva Ecija and we’ve been trying really hard to bring some of her family to spend a few months with us here in Europe. It’s been a difficult process and so far unsuccessful. We watch your content all the time and have been so inspired it. We are truly grateful for all of the fantastic videos. Keep up the great work!
I always wonder how you do it tsong? Take something so heavy - like the issue of poverty in the Philippines - and put such a lighthearted touch to it. Ginawa mong hindi mabigat dalhin ang isang napaka bigat na issue. You made us smile & laugh through it. Through your camera (and your eyes) we saw beauty in a place that most people consider as an “eyesore” and I’m sure that your perspective made some people realize some truths that were unacceptable to them before.
You have a unique style and approach in your story-telling, unlike any other in the vlogging world. And how can we expect anything less from our award-winning, Shorty awards vlogger of the year, and vlogger ng bayan. Labyu po ❤️
this is what you call a Legit Content Bro.
Thanks for the heart. Makes me want to get back on making videos. Keep it up bro your such an inspiration
watching this after 2020, I hope people in this vid are still alive, well, and striving.
I love these types of vlogs, you showcase the good/ positive side to things like the Filipino attitude, hospitality and culture. I like how you inserted your insight/ perspective. Keep doing vids like these! It’s refreshing to see amidst all the negativity these days.
The only things you need to worry about in the streets of the philippines are stray dogs chasing you
But of course just like any other country be street smart and dont be stupid.
as I biker , I agree with this lol
True especially at night ride..the stray dogs wil chase at you...sometimes you thought it was an Aswang😂😂😂
when i was a kid from manila i always had this fear lmao
I tried that once, but then some strangers helped me out. Haha
I got chased by 2 dogs
Smiles at every corner of the street, what can you expect? Even on these less fortunate areas you'll find Filipinos look for a way to be happy and celebrate the smallest things. This warms our hearts Wil - good job guys !!

Manny Mislang all those words are millions of dollars worth...
This video made me actually want to go back to Manila. Manila can be an exhausting place if you are not use to dirty air. Which would explain why these guys were wearing bandanas over their noses and mouths. Also, if you don't stay at the more fancier hotels in town, you have to deal with blackouts. Those aren't cool (literally) when it's hot and humid. I found myself running to the nearest place that had A/C for shelter. Despite all the cons I have mentioned, the Filipino locals are one of the friendliest in the world. And there is a local saying (mostly for tourist): "More fun in the Philippines." If you maintain your sense of adventure, you'll have an amazing time in The Philippines.
I haven't spent much time in Manila but never experienced blackout. Blackout in the province.
@@michaelmallal9101 - Maybe it's better out there because it's not as populated. But when I was in Manila about 5 years ago, blackouts were pretty much daily. If were in a fancier place to stay, then most has generators as back up.
But its 5 years ago , in my city blackouts only occur when there is a strong storm or some flooding in the area
@@islandbee when was that. I am here in manila for years . and can count the times where there has been blackout. mostly because there is a typhoon. . maybe you rented some slum apartment with stolen electricity 😅
@@nat0106951 - It was in 2013. It wasn't in the slums at all. It was half a block away from the SM market on Makati Blvd. It wasn't a fancy hotel. But, it wasn't a slum building either. The more modern hotels had their generators kick in.
I like Filipinos... that's why I keep coming back to this country, but the pandemic stopped me now. I hope things will get better and the gov't of the Philippines will open the border again. Greeting from Indonesia.

Hi Kuya Wil! I absolutely LOVE this style of your vlogs and just getting to see more of the daily life in the barangay! I’ve only been to Philippines once (because I was inspired to go from you) and experienced this amazing welcome and made so many great memories! I am definitely coming back and bringing my family. Since we lost contact with all our family in The Philippines back in the 1950’s, my family has always wanted to go back and try to go through records/documents to try to find anyone. Though I didn’t get to do any of that, I really did make life long friends and get “adopted” into families I met along my travels. It’s this kind of content that really inspires me to keep coming back to my roots and travel more! 💕
And this is the real concept of vlogging..
This is the reason why I feel so homesick every single day. This is what I miss so much about the Philippines. It’s not that a rich of a country in terms of economy but rich in happiness, that even people have no money, but they’re still happy. I love that!
Some people look for a beautiful place, and others make a place beautiful

Well Thousands of Filipinos desperately try to escape from Philippines every day so I dont think they are so happy.
Faanēngaaw Narruhn Nika 😅😅😄😄🤣🤣😂😁😀... IMPERIALISM.. EUROPEAN
Its about appreciation. People tend to be more grateful if they have less. Its probably incremental. If you have a million dollars and get $100,000 more it doesn't impact your life much. But if you have just $100 and get $100,000 it does impact your life. I think its often called diminishing returns. Also westernized people measure most things by their monetary value. In poorer regions they use other means of valuing things and this has more depth. What is money except for man's attempt at putting a monetary value on something? Its fickle and can change with a change in mood. Witness the stock market.
@@firstnamelastname1219 A lot of these people are drawn away by the lure of apparent riches in 1st world countries. But then they get here and as we all know most Filipinos have rather poor financial management skills. They tend to think in the moment and don't plan well for the future. Most, not all. In my city in North America there are many Filipinos. I have seen maybe 1 family in several years drive a nice car (newer MB, BMW, Audi, etc). The Chinese and educated whites control the entire economy. The Filipinos don't even make a dent. Its a different mindset. In the Philippines it works well. In North America, not so well. The 2nd generation is very acclimatized and does much better. But here's the real problem: Their diet. Note all the fried street food consumed in the Philippines. The traditional Filipino diet is laden in fat, salt and sugar. One of the most unhealthy diets on the planet. Look at most Filipinos over 30. 99% are really overweight. Its the diet. They have excellent athletic genetics (have you ever seen a bad Filipino dancer?) but the diet ages them fast. When Filipinos stay fit they have tremendous results, much like Hispanics. Their athletic genetics are far above most Caucasians. The end result of this emigration is that they tend to live a much shorter lifespan in westernized countries than they would have back home with all that fresh food available (if they ate fresh food of course). Here they never eat anything raw pretty much except fruit. A "salad" is a foreign concept. They almost never eat raw vegetables which are the cornerstone of any healthy diet. If they knew they would probably die 20 years sooner in their modern house in California I wonder if they would leave. A lot of it also is hope for their children. Filipinos sacrifice everything for their children which is very admirable. Their family relationships tend to be very respectful and tight. So if they think emigrating will grant the next generation a better life (whatever that is) they jump at it. If they would read more they might make a different decision. Nowadays with so much info online one doesn't need to necessarily go to an expensive school in a 1st world country to get an education. Of course convincing an employer of this is more challenging. Work for free for a few days probably will do it though. But Filipinos are not big readers generally. This is something the government needs to encourage, especially as so many people are comfortable reading English where most info is available. What percentage of financial and scientific info is in Filipino online? Almost nothing. So speaking English bridges them to the world and is invaluable. But instead most will use that linguistic ability to watch RUclips videos. An incredible waste.
Derek Bright we don,t escape, we are just trying to find livelihood to provide for our families because there are not enough in my country. One of the reasons is the big population that the government cannot control.
It’s safe but you need to take precautions one time naligaw kami driver asawa ko nasuot kami sa isang eskenita marami nag iinuman nag ask kami ng directions may isang sumagot puro tattoo buong katawan doubt pa nga ako yung kaba ko hangang langit pero nung nasa dulo na kami ng kanto bigla siya lumabas at siya nag traffic para maka labas kami.. sabi nga e don’t judge kaagad... kudos to that guy..

I'll translate it for you man. She said there was one time that she and her husband got lost and ended up on a narrow dead end road with sketchy looking people drinking alcohol on the street. Then she asked for directions and this one guy with full body tattoo approached them and lead them to the right way. On their way out of the street, the guy even stopped the traffic so they could proceed. Like what she said, don't judge people by their looks. :)

The fact that your feet are still firmly on the ground despite your sudden popularity boost to great heights is straight Bomb Digitty Bro. You are an example that people need to aspire to. W/ all that said, Daniel’s getting lit over there
The first few seconds of the intro fooled me into thinking that I clicked on the wrong video.. kala ko hindi Wil Dasovich vlog yung nabuksan ko 😆
Your travel vlogs have always featured the beauty of the Philippines, and you’ve been to every local tourist destination I can think of, plus some more that are off the beaten track. But this time, you’re showing just another side of this country. And like I said before - you’re just showing truth - and truth is beauty.
Our latest market studies reveal that the Philippines still suffer from an image problem. Those of us in the tourism industry know how frustrating & annoying it is every time we encounter that seemingly endless question: “Is it safe to visit the Philippines?” because after all these years with all the tourism promo slogans, safety remains an issue to tourists when thinking of traveling to the Philippines.
I like how you meet many people yet you never judge them or say anything bad about them or the situation they are in. I admire you bro! ❤️
There's no place like home.
Miss you Pinas.

I'm a Filipino too and I love your vlogs po. It's nice to have these kinds of fellow filipinos but just always be protective . Don't let your guard down because in every country there is always a snake that is waiting to bite you. And also don't wander in streets at night because it can be dangerous to some places. Don't leave your wallet or personal belongings. Just don't act rich or boastful then you are good .A friendly advice from a fellow filipino po. Hmmm I'm a Filipino but I get treated very differently. I guess being a foreigner or just being good looking depends on what people treat you as a person.

Wil, I watched all 3 episodes and my overall assessment is outstanding! You probably are the most articulate and possess the deepest wisdom of all Philippine based bloggers today. You seem to find all the silver linings wherever you go in the Philippines...and for that I applaud you. Although you might present somewhat the extreme opposite of what the media paints of the country, your blog shows what can happen if nothing goes array, or when things are normal. Not that I expect you to show the opposite side of the spectrum, but I've been in situations where people are not so friendly, perhaps because I look and I am a Filipino. Nevertheless, this blog definitely met your goal which is to show the side of the streets of Manila which is not seen or presented in other media outlet. For that I thank you very much. I wish you more power and success and please continue the work you are doing :)
Huwag ka lang pumormang mayaman at mayabang sa Manila kahit saang streets, and you're ginna be okay!
Jie Jaso korek ka dyan!!
Korek! Low profile ka lang dapat para tuloyX2 ang living mo der?
That it seems to be the problem of our country right now that's why sobrang baba ng tourism saatin kasi sa ibang bansa even do you are sa capital city sobrang daming tourist especially backpackers pero saatin wala
So paano pag may nakita kang nagpormang mayaman? Ano bubug-bugin mo? Nanakawan mo?
This might just be my favourite video of yours, Wil. Surely there are lots of things that the Filipino society lack, pero finding happiness in the smallest things & sharing it with others is surely not one of those. Sana marami pang mga tao sa mundo ang magiging interesado sa Pilipinas at sa mga Pilipino. Thank you for showing this perspective. 👍
I was kinda depressed for a while now then i saw this and wow i just love u for ur creations sml more of this pls!! And i missed the irish lad! Hahha i hope will see you in person
I love Philippinos!! They are the friendliest people on the planet!
Hell no theyre not!!!
but they are badliest people on philippines
that two americans dont know actually the whole story of the philippines they are only visiting them
LOL. They both live in the Philippines and have been living in the Philippines long enough than you.
And Wil Dasovich is himself half-filipino. Just so you know.
Not all filipino are kind and nice some are just too annoying, some people just want to be involved in a fight
They love being there and interacting with the Philipinos as long as they don't have to live like them, as long as they can escape back to their home countries whenever they want, as long as they don't have to survive on a Philipinos wage, and as long as they can still have all their Western conveniences. Then yeah, it's like totally awesome dude!
More series like this please!!! ❤️
Hi Will, I really appreciate the fact that you are showing perspective, instead of giving out your opinion. Nice vids btw! Peace
Yo who’s choppin’ onions? Best vlog everrrr!!
Based on my encounter with filipinos in Singapore, hongkong and dubai as i travel these places very often coz of my work ,i can say with 100% confidence that 99% filipinos are friendly and happy people, may be 1% or less would be snooty or snobbish when you talk to them, i meet a group of girls in bali back in 2018 omg they were really talented girls , we all were sitting in a bar lounge and after the live performance was over, these girls went to the stage and they killed it with their performance that day i realised the saying that all filipinos can sing, well sure they can , its not a myth for me anymore.
One of the best videos you made. I like your new style. You're back!
THIS MINI SERIES IS SO COOL. YOU COULD EASILY BE A PRODUCER. THIS IS TOTALLY A SHOWCASE OF YOUR EDITING SKILLS. 💯
Seriously, I am in awe. Such a perfect example on how to make a vlog. All the emotions, realness, and wit are so awesome. 💯
BEST VLOGGER OF THE YEAR GOES TO WIL DASOVICH👍🏻
News memes TV bakla haha
I have been in Manila a couple of times. My friend brought me to a slum in Quezon City and the people there are so friendly. I miss the drinking spree and the pulutan. I will be back next year and visit the peeps there.
@Trisha mendoza I don't think they are as bad as you are describing right now.

Fernando Ramirez support ☺
Mexicans and Filipinos are long distance cousins.
@Danny Washington you're wrong. Spain ruled the Philippines via Mexico for over 330 years. As a result, many Mexicans were transplanted in the Philippines and vice versa with Filipinos in Mexico. I've been to Mexico a few times and had the same sentiment as Self Made Vlog about our two cultures. Hay muchas similares con nuestras culturas. Viva Las Filipinas y Mexico!
This series is turning into an incredible documentary. Amazing storytelling kuya Wil!
Beautiful messages to take home throughout this vlog...make the most of people around you and be always grateful. Very moved by the sheer joyful content and especially the generosity and spirit of the Filipinos even those who have so little. Shake those hips and life feels better!! Love from the UK ;)
