I wonder how many of our grandfathers or fathers received this award. When I served I got the Marksmen pin. Which meant I was at least able to hit the target somewhere. I became a cook...
Great video and location as always! As a former scoutmaster the simple answer to the rock stacking question is "leave no trace". There are other reasons too, but I don't want to post an encyclopedia of hiking etiquette, lol...
Two things, Jason: First, thanks for clearing up the relationship between Rich and Lynn. I'm so embarrassed. Second, cairns are piles of rock that are carefully and deliberately placed to mark a trail or a boundary. Arbitrarily placing piles of rocks confuses that and can get people lost in places that don't have enough vegetation to show the trail. Third, Hi Rich's mom! And lastly, I love it when Jessica is on!
Jason you ask the ? Why hikers don’t like people stacking rocks on trail. Because it could lead hikers off course. Stacked rocks call Cairns are used as trail markers and is Blazes which is paint used to mark trees so as to stay on course during your hike.
Some great finds this week..congratulations Lynn on your first coins, and Jessica on the gorgeous old half reale! Awesome hunt, see you on the next one!
Epic finds everyone, what a site! I think I saw a date of 1890 on Lynne's Indian, so the first 2 coins of her career were in that field and both in the 1800's- insane! Your silver button/cuff link was incredible as well! Congrats all!
Congratulations on all of the great finds especially one of my favorite finds, the half reale. As to the stacking of rocks, I was told that people have been hurt by the rocks falling over, especially when they are higher
Wow Gang, what a great episode! You all scored big time out there in that field. Doug, congrats on the sterling badge. What a cool looking piece. Jason, Beautiful old cufflink. 👍 Lynn, High-5 on your first two coins. You don’t mess around! Jess, Way to go on that 300 year old real. Holy smokes! You all had a fantastic day. Thanks for that tidbit of info on the “sterling” marking vs. “.925”.
Great Find Lynn, well done on your first copper. Jason your first Jess coin, I thought I saw the Indian head dress on the right top 2:13, but I know nothing about old US coins. I agree with initials JK on the cufflink. A cufflink has two of those with 2 links of jewelry chain. I have a gold one very similar that was my first wife's grandfather so period correct. Well done Jolly Jess on the fabulous Reale. In England we describe that sticky clay as 'Claggy', a great descriptor word! That was a good Hunt.
I kind of have a crush on Lynn. Her smile is beautiful. I am single 67, and to poor to attract even stray cats, but Lynn is cute. Jessica is cute as well, but I can't say that because I am to old. Damn it.
The guy that designed the badge lived in my area had many other items that he sculpted. info can be found here www.u-46.org/cms/lib/IL01804616/Centricity/Domain/3280/Trygve%20A.%20Rovelstad%20A.%20Bio%201922.pdf
That first coin could be a KG2. Saw the line, and a cruddy bust looking to the left on the other side. Jessica Impressica did good! Lynndiana Jones getting an IHC... Happy days! 😃Coppers for Charlie, and Jess raising the stakes with a half reale!!! Doug seeing her with that AWESOME silver pin. Copper for Rich VanWinkle... Jason, you need to get everyone a GoPro so you can dig more holes! (nice cuff-link though)
A stack of rocks is a Tarn used to mark changes in a trail etc. so if people stack for no reason it can cause confusion which can be dangerous on trails. Well that's how it is in New Zealand anyway. Great finds team as well.
Everyone got great finds, it’s seems Jessica made a great addition to the team.
Combat Infantry Badge.
Exactly right. I earned mine in Iraq.
The Purple Heart would hang right below the wreath. Or Jump Wings.
When did the makers start stamping the word “Sterling” on their pieces?
Introduced in 1943, CIB
@@ChrisDohogne Mine is from WWII, stamped Sterling.

I wonder how many of our grandfathers or fathers received this award. When I served I got the Marksmen pin. Which meant I was at least able to hit the target somewhere. I became a cook...
What a great episode! The ladies showed up and showed out!
Great video and location as always! As a former scoutmaster the simple answer to the rock stacking question is "leave no trace". There are other reasons too, but I don't want to post an encyclopedia of hiking etiquette, lol...

Everyone had great things but I really love that badge Doug found. Awesome hunt.
I like to think of stacked rocks like Boy Scout graffiti! Punk rocks!

Hello Quarter Hoarder,Dog Tag Doug.charlie,Rich and Lynn and Jessica
Agreed it’s a combat infantry badge or CIB
A stack of rocks is a Tarn used to mark changes in a trail etc. so if people stack for no reason it can cause confusion which can be dangerous on trails. Well that's how it is in New Zealand anyway. Great finds team as well.
Well done. Great hunt
Have fun guys, let's find cool relics
Hi guys,❤
I love Lynnes bag what brand is it...also I love a good rock stack
You rock Turd!
Rock on 🤘🏻
Hey Turd! The bag is from “Bare Bones” & is called a foraging bag.
Rock stacks or “cairns” are significant to hikers. I learned about them years ago. They denote directions or information specific to the trail.
Congratulations Lynn Deanna Jones
Great hunt! Congrats Lynn! Saw one on facebook. Im Trying to think of a good name for Jessica! 😊
Jessica Dandy, starring in Diggin' Miss Daisy! Sorry, but it's perfect... it just is.
Jess the copper popper
Go Lynn!
I have WWII Army badges marked Sterling. They switch to a bronze type sometime around the 1950's to early 60's
Jess keeping it Reals
As quick as Jessica is at finding things, Jessica Rabbit is only fitting!
Combat infantryman’s badge!! 13:07
Way to go Lynn and Jess!
