I definitely didn't wake up today thinking Gavin would win at jeopardy by answering a native american history question
That's the first thing I thought 😂
"When in doubt, pick genocide" -Gavin Free
ThatKidBehindYou, except Columbus didn't commit any genocide...
Matt Wells www.americanheritage.com/content/columbus-and-genocide killed 2 3rds the population. Sounds like genocide to me. Not counting all the other bullshit he did.
Edit. Also bullshit person above me. His actions where constantly complained about and he was punished by the queen
books.google.com.au/books?id=jzaruh-z1RoC&lpg=PA386&dq=columbus+bobadilla&pg=PA387&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=columbus%20bobadilla&f=false
He acted in accordance to the zeitgeist of the era. He saw a rich people with no military ability and reported that they could easily be conquered by the Spanish crown. He was appointed as governor of the island and implemented a feudal system like the one in Europe. The Caribbean was home to around 300,000 Taíno people at the time of the first landing. 90% of them died due to the European pandemics, the rest due to wars and bad work conditions leaving only around 500 . So how exactly did he kill 2 thirds? Was he or the Spaniards responsible for the diseases they didn't even know they carried nor understood? If we start judging historical figures by their misdeeds and not by their achievements we would never stop. If seen by modern standards, everyone in the past was an asshole. Alexander the Great wasn't so great to the Persians and Egyptians he conquered. Catherine the Great was hated by the Khanates of the Russian Steppes whose land she took. Point is, any human at the time would have acted the same, even the ones that criticized him. Wars and conquest were a part of normal life to them, they didn't even question it. Until the threat of nuclear annihilation put a stop to most of it.
He is British
8:41 Fun fact, that Nokia message tone Gavin mentions is actually the Morse code for "SMS": · · · - - · · ·
The difference between it and SOS is that M is 2 dashes, while O is 3.
oh yeah I remember that :D
thanks, that was fun
Nerd
Thanks TI-84 Silver Edition Guy :D
Ohhhhhh
"Doesn't sound Italian...."
Because they spoke so much Italian in Ancient Rome. They didn't speak Latin or anything like that.
Abigail Archer-Addams thank you...I was screaming at the screen when that came up
The names also did sound a little Italian.
fun fact Italian is an anagram for Latina
Another fun fact: Latin wasn't actually the lingua franca in most of the Roman empire, that would be Koinè (common) Greek
Its AFakeMun Yeah but they named everything in Latin.
The Lady who murdered with an axe was lizzie borden and the Rhyme goes like this:
Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother 40 whacks
When she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41.
Creepy, but thank you for the knowledge.~
Was looking to see if anyone commented about the rhyme... glad I found this...
I feel Gavin's jingle so much. Most of these trivia games are so loaded with American questions. I still enjoy them though.
eh as a Canadian the question about which province borders Montana made me cringe inside watching their guesses
+Patrick Brides and as a Hungarian I know next to nothing about Montana aside from roughly where it is on the map, and US colleges, and like 90% of the categories that are about US specific stuff like that :D
edit: I mean it's alright that I learn about these stuff, but I do like to play along with trivia games like this.
Well it's a game based on an American gameshow, did you expect questions about Slovakia?
Patrick Bridges As someone that lives in Alberta, two hours away from the border, I almost broke my phone in two from gripping it so tight.
Márk Nagy why not? testing people trivia knowledge from outside of america would make it much more interesting and you know... make it more like actual trivia
I don't know why everyone is hating on the editing. I think it's nice that they are trying to make something that is visually boring a little more appealing
Tyler Beals it is extremely visually boring. Like I guess in a living room setting you can make it more exciting with the people around, but the screen is so bare bones I'd honestly be surprised if anyone would pay more than $10 for this. I know I certainly wouldn't.
Who is hating on it? They're like Funhaus edits, they're great!
It could be that they saw this video earlier on when comments at the top were being mean toward the video edits but now that other comments have risen that are praising things, mentioning jokes and facts, the hateful comments have sunk to the bottom where people can't see them since they have barely any likes.
"Who got thrown into a den of lions?"
Jack: "It's Jonah and the whale." *Still picks Jonah.*
I'm loving the editing in these since the game has been stripped down so much
Yep, the editing certainly makes up for the game's shortcomings
"In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue"
Jack still picks Marco Polo...?
Because Polo went to the place he intended?
It's even worse considering Marco Polo died like 200 years before that happened
Matt Wells Off by about 160 years, pal.
“You can’t hear an accent, it’s a robot!” XD
I laughed so hard... am i a bad person?
“It’s nicknamed ‘Old Eli’”
...Ryan?
generic lets play watcher Ryan’s son is named Eli so he’s technically the old Eli
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought of that
it's probably Eli's middle name
Thought Ryan's kid was Pubert.
take a shot every time jack says he knew the answer but it turned out it was wrong
Still sober...
I absolutely love the amount of small edits in a visually boring game like this, much appreciated
GAVIN OR GOOGLE
GOOGLE OR GAVIN
WHICH ONE SAID IT
oh wait wrong show
Sofiayayayey - WHICH ONE DONE IT
LET'S FIND OUT
I'M FEELING LUCKY!
HEY
17:05 “Hell bent on the Bible.”
I started to roll my eyes when lil J went "Fallout: New Vegas" but then stopped because the reason i knew the seven hills of Rome was the correct answer was because of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
same
thank god for you saying this i was trying to figure out what he said to make jack and gavin laugh
So. I knew Corsica because of a Cheech & Chong movie
I love when you can tell Jeremy has pushed back from his desk away from the mic but you can still hear him shouting in rage
People Like Grapes
Gavin Hates Raisins
"when in doubt, choose genocide" what a very british answer
Afghan Hound. It's an Afghan Hound.
as the owner of an actual Afghan Hound, this moment made me scream at my screen
As the owner of zero dogs I was like, "In what world does that dog look more like a terrier breed than a hound?"
that would be a huge ass terrier at least
Is their fur used to make afghans?
Yes. Very astute.
This video has some excellent gag edits. I'm surprised at their frequency and appreciate the extra effort. You go editor(s)!
They would throw me in to a pit of lions
Apparently if i went it would be boring
I kind of hate/love both of you
TheScoobMaster finally someone loves me
I'd make them fire-breathing robot lions. Would that make the stories less boring?
Apparently none of them (I wouldn't expect Gavin to have) have been to Glacier National Park, also known as the only National Park that is entirely in Montana...
Paul Jewson are you from Montana?...
Paul Jewson What's a Montana?
To be fair. Not too many people care about states they don't live in or are not bordering.
"I don't think its glaciers" I'm dying
No one wants to go to Montana
Y'all ain't never heard of Daniel in the lion's den?
hawkteflon they'll burn in hell for being disbelievers.
I’m always amazed by how dumb these guys really are
"Jonah was the whale right?"
Jesus please educate these people
It’s almost as if not everyone reads the bible every day
I'm not religious at all but somehow I remember it from a coloring book 😂
I really cannot believe they didn’t know the square root of 1/9 omfffg
jeties they're a long way from high school kid
Maybe my perspective as a computer engineer has me skewed but it seems like such basic math
jeties yea that stuff becomes less relevant in adult life.
I thought the same thing.
best Jeremy quote "He was big in the bible" yes Jeremy he was
At least his favorite LP singer is gone.
I feel shit on.
At least they wouldn't want to throw you to lions.
Jeremy is Boston, all he knows is fish.
small fish
I'm legitimately surprised they missed 8:50. And not only did Gavin get it wrong, but Jack was 100% sure that he was right before it said so. A lot of their mistakes you can chalk up to them just not knowing various facts, but fractions and square roots are just basic high school maths
So Jack knew Columbus sailed in 1492 and still picked Marco Polo? wtf
2:20 - That dog is an *Afghan Hound*
That depressing display of math
What have you used that kind of math for outside of school? Just curious.
@@Theepieguy
Yes
Especially as an astronautical engineer
Though I think I'd be an outlier as opposed to the rule
+Fyredrake0470
Yeah, and the likelihood of many people using something for probability deviation is pretty low, much less quadratics. I mean I think math is awesome, and want to study it when I get more free time~ However... for the most part it's useless for most things and really basic algebra barely makes itself known in daily life, unfortunately. D;
9:46 "this game is loaded with American stuff" *editor shows Australian brand packaging for Marmite*
somewhere in Austin Geoff is in a lot of pain
Was he playing more golf?
Of course, he hit himself during this vid.
I love you guys
The editor did very good in making a visually formal game into something entertaining to complement the boys
"When in doubt, pick genocide." -Gavin Free
For a brief moment in history, I felt confident knowing all the "On the Bookshelf" questions. Today was a good day.
Good job editor, seems like you have fun with this one.
I hate how confident jack always is. like with that math problem...slow down boi
"I'm much dumber than I think I am" yes, yes you are.
Shout out to the editor! Editing was on point this episode. If it wasn't for the editor, I would have 100% tabbed out and ignored what was going on on the screen.
Title says it all
You honestly have to be a very big fan of them to be able to sit through these which of course I am
Whoever edited this, good job. I appreciate you.
The editing for this video is phenomenal.
Did Jack sing "Clifford the bid reg dog" at 11:50?
the editing definitely helps keep this Let's Play entertaining
Man do I love these jeopardy videos the moments that come out of this are golden
jack facts, ryan recalls, dooley knowledge drop / dooley dont know, gavin googled. cant wait for geoffs and michaels.
maybe geoff giggles and michael messed up?
Jack is very confident he knows answers to things he’s wrong about
I’m from Christchurch, New Zealand. It was nice to get a mention in an Achievement Hunter video
Do they have specific schedule? I only know there's GTA Monday and Minecraft Friday. I've been subbed for years and I still can't figure it out lol
don't forget trivia tuesdays
James Adams well when I think I have it figured out the change the format on me lol. We had GMOD Sundays then Mario Kart Sundays and now I don't know what it is
Trivia Tuesdays
I knew years ago it was on the website they had what they do. Now it is kinda random stuff that just comes out daily except for GTA and Minecraft.
They outline what videos are coming out in ahwu
whoever edited this video did a top notch job
I died of laughter when they started answering the Bible questions, I’m studying to be a youth minister so I knew those easily but when they chose Ezekiel as the person who got thrown into the lions den I lost it
Haha seriously. I also loved the idea of Zacchaeus climbing up a tree to see Matthew, another tax collector haha.
barbaro267 tax collectors gotta stick together you know?
I always think the host is going to say, " You have unlocked a new master race."
"Mana is always blue" apparently not when spelled with 2 Ns
well with their gif of Jack's head stating that it as a fact, the joke is the preconceived notion that "mana is always blue" while obviously being wrong/misinformed specifically noting the difference in spelling, or to put it more simply the meme "NOPE"
Jack: "You must've known that one"
Jeremy + me: "Fallout: New Vegas, buddy"
LMAO
Love the new editing
Take a shot everytime Jack thinks hes got the right answer and fails miserably
Jeremy is my spirit animal - I knew those answers because of New Vegas and Epic Rap Battles too.
No longer is it Gavin or Google. Lo and behold, the entity Gavin AND Google
Ah, another episode of Jack's Ego is showing.
Isn't that basically any video that Jack is in.
19:54 After Jack read the description, I looked to the right of my computer and just stared at the tube of Pringles I had sitting there
I am a Sarah and not offended. My names boring AF.
It's always funny to hear how pissed Gavin gets when he misses the buzz in.
That would be an Afghan Hound for those wondering
Ahhh, that warm and fuzzy feeling you get when you remember HRC lost.
I’m with Lil J. The only reason I knew the Mojave question was because of New Vegas.
I knew it by studying American History. But I knew that I learned much more from New Vegas about them. Great game. 10/10 would play it again if I still owned it
Hahaha liked what the editors did! Little fact bubbles popping up 😂
11:03 what was the image? i couldn’t see it
Gavin won my heart by mentioning colmans mustard.
"These are all very modern sounding names." Uh, they're normal names because tons of people named their kids after Bible characters and now they're just omnipresent.
Accurate LOL
25:52 “so walk softly over here and give my big stick a suckles” i get you jeremy
Gavin or Google, Google or Gavin, which one said it, let's find out.
Aaron I’m feeling lucky!
Burnie: "We used the phrase 'When in doubt', and the responses we got from Google and from Gavin were 'When in doubt, pick genocide' and 'When in doubt, pinky out.' " Which one was Gavin, and which one was Google?"
14:05 Jack hits the nail right on the head.
I love how Jack thinks he's so smart and knows all the answers and is wrong like 80% of the time lmao.
yes 80% cause u do math goo
Tommy Kung Jack did not win. He came in last.
Yeah, Jack is pretty stupid.
lets see, jack got 22 out of 27 buzzes correct. which is 81% accurate. jeremy: 64% and gavin: 85%
To be fair most of the ones Gavin got right were last option questions, and Jeremy just picks which ever he found intetesting sooooo your point?
"Stephen Hawking's British??? How do you know??? He doesn't have an accent...he's a robot"
Jeremy Dooley 2018
RIP me cuz I died laughing
boring name well im sure theyll be happy to know the other three with daniel that were sent to the oven have rare names
don't know who edited these, but please edit all of them from now, it was awesome
jack: im much dumber than i think i am
truer words have never been spoken
8:28 my marching band did a show entitled SoS. during the last song they played the message 4 times in a row. it has been engraved into my mind for 7 years straight.
i see gavin, i click
i love that jeremy's knowledge comes from games.
Algebra II in college? Do they do things differently over there? I did algebra II freshman year of high school, dude.
Yeah it's probably something to do with school system in Australia and doing a non-traditional college path (ie not going to university directly after high-school). If you were doing a community college in your mid 20s for example.
Highschool in the us is basically just prep for college and schools trying to pass standardized tests to get money. It pretty much fucks over most people.
It doesn’t matter if you take anything in high school unless it’s a class that counts for a college credit. Depending on your major, you may have to take classes you took in high school again because you didn’t get credits for it.
DoppelDragon - Butters Me too
Also, as everyone else already mentioned how messed up the US school system is, when i took college algebra it was a hell of a lot harder (and interesting) than when i saw it in highschool =V
You can tell the editor got bored. I love it
9:16
Jeremy: I'm an idiot!
Game: Yes, correct!
Wait wait wait... You guys did the square roots of fractions in algebra 2... In college?! Wow times have changed. We did that in pre algebra in 8th grade
Jeremy said that they didn't have 2 daily doubles in the second round in the last video, but they did.
Jack talks SUCH a big game when he doesn't get the first pick of answers and he nearly ALWAYS have it wrong...
because he honestly believes that he has the right answer. Everyone does it, the difference is that Jack has more confidence in his answer compared to Gavin or Jeremy, as they don't believe they have the right answer.
Jack just needs to let the other members of AH to play... he needs to learn to stfu
Callan Herberger I disagree
My god, even Jack's avatar is making the soyboy face. The transformation is complete.
WOOO PENN STATE!
hey i like that you're starting to be more supportive and less competitive
These edits make up for the disappointing lack of Trebek.
lmao can jack stop being like "OHHHH MY GOD.........." when someone answers like theyre wrong when theyre actually not
8:50 technically it would be either positive 1/3 or negative 1/3 since it’s a square root
since they were given positive numbers it can be assumed it was the positive root of 1/9
Allow me to rephrase: x=±1/3. You can’t prove it to be positive or negative since both 1/3*1/3 and -1/3*-1/3 equal 1/9. They are both possible roots of 1/9.
But seeing as -1/3 wasn't an answer choice we can assume the answer they are looking for is 1/3
The root symbol implies the positive root. If equation was x^2 = 1/9, then the answers would indeed be x =
+root(1/9) = +1/3 and x = -root(1/9) = -1/3, but convention dictates that the x = root(1/9) implies x = +root(1/9) = +1/3.
nerd
Jeremy's lack of basic knowledge never fails to astound and impress me. Godpseed, Monster Truck.
Classic trivia Jack, acting like he knows the answer and then guessing and getting it wrong.
With utter disbelief when he's wrong
The editing is glorious
I absolutely agree with Jeremy. It's impossible to tell Stephen Hawking is British XD
You've never watched The Theory of Everything?
In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue to give everyone a day of skewl
