I just got one in 7.62 NATO. Mossberg is known for their rugged-no polished features...think 12 gauge 590-a1. The action needs to be worked to smoothen out. I've spent the last 4 days feeding dummy rounds into it to hone and work-harden the mating surfaces and the improvement is about 75%. I chose the Mossberg over a Winchester Model 70 Ultra-light Compact because it takes both STANAG AR-10 and M1A/M-14 mags and MDT has two chassis options for it. The MDT LSS is for the range and the factory stock will be for crawling through the bush. Couldn't find any upgrades for the Winchester at all, at least not here in Soviet Kanada.
Don’t be fooled these rifles are trash. That bolt hanging up like that is a fatal flaw in them. Not to mention if your a reloader the tab that allows the bolt to pick up the rounds off the ar mag. Tears the hell out of the case if the pos extractor doesn’t pull the case out you better drop the mag. Because it going to induce the worst double feed of your life. What will happen is you will plow the next cartridge into the back of the stuck case. How do i know all this well because I own one of these pos. Yeah I thought the idea of this rifle was cool myself. But i didn’t do enough research before I got mine
You are so correct about that bolt. It is basically an AR bolt adapted for a bolt gun. And like an AR it runs best when wet.

That bolt is the bolt you dream of when you have nightmares about a bear charging at you...
But would not stop a bear charging .
Great video
Sweet Video! Gotta get 1
Does that rifle come with a metal magazine from your store?
Seeing a completely legal 10 round LAR pistol mag crimped to a 5 round capacity limit sold with a bolt gun embarrasses me as a Canadian.
Coyote got nothing to fear! Haha!
mine takes out wolves and deer .
Would have been nice to have had a look at the groupings on the target. I'm not impressed with bolt operation, way too notchy .
There won’t be a bench rest when you are fighting against the Chinese troops Justina Castreau is training in your country.
What response are you looking for with this comment?
