Got a Bowman story for you Brett... 2000 Olympic Trials... I was on the deck with my coach Lou Petrozziello (Jersey Gators) and Bob was standing next to us. Final of the men's 200 fly was about to start. Michael was only 15 and Lou and I obviously thought it was an amazing accomplishment that he had made it to the final. Lou asked Bob, 'So how is the kid going to do?' Bob looked over to Lou and said in a very serious voice, "Just wait for the last 50." At the 150 Michael was only in fourth or fifth place as I remember it. His last 50 meters was phenomenal and he finished second earning a place on the Olympic Team. Bob knew exactly how that race would play out. 🎯💯🇺🇲
