You’ll receive the thermal printer, a small roll of thermal paper, the AC adapter, a miniUSB cable Velcro strap, instruction manuals, and mini software CD. The thermal printer is made of plastic and is fairly lightweight. It measures 4.25”L x 3.25”W x 2”H. In the middle is the paper feed slot just below the logo. There is a mode button, power button, and feed key and the LED indicators lights are for power, paper capacity, and error. The button on the side releases the paper drawer, which flips open from the top. Along the front edge of the slot is a serrated blade to cut the paper.
When loading the 58mm, or 2” size paper roll, make sure the roll unfurls on the bottom towards the blade, and not from the top of the roll, otherwise it will not feed correctly. On the bottom of the unit is the battery bay with pre-installed rechargeable lithium ion battery. The first time you use the machine, be sure to remove the sticker covering the battery contacts. Along the front you’ll find a power port for charging, miniUSB charging port, and miniUSB communications port. Be sure to charge the unit for several hours before first use. The battery can last 5-6 days on standby before needing to be recharged.
After charging, press the power button to turn the unit on. Pressing the feed button will advance the paper from the tray. To pair the printer with your mobile phone, find and connect to the Bluetooth device called ‘BlueTooth Printer’ in your phone’s Bluetooth menu. If it asks for a passcode, use ‘1234’ as the default. Then to use the printer you’ll need an app. There’s an app on the CD that comes with the printer, but you can also use any available on the Google Play and Apple App store. I’m using an app called RawBT. Using any number of apps, you can print text, images, and barcodes that can then be scanned by a smart device or barcode scanner. The prints are in black and white of course and have a 384 dot/line resolution. Font size A is larger than font size B if you choose to change the default settings.
As for print quality, text seems to print fine and is very readable. The same goes for 1D and 2D barcodes. However, for images, I noticed that they have horizontal banding across the image at regular intervals. Even after cleaning the print head, I saw the streaking so just be aware that printed images may not look completely clear. Overall, the thermal printer works fine; you can use it in a POS or point of sale machine situation for printing receipts or tickets. Or just use it for fun and print out notes, reminders, recipes, and even pictures.

The app is called RawBT, though it's not really a POS specific app in that it's not optimized to store a list of inventory/prices that I can select and build a full receipt from. It's more of printing software that allows you to custom create individual prints.

Sorry, I'm not sure. I don't know much about app programming, but I guess if you could open the channel to the printer with a Bluetooth hook, it could work. But again, I don't really know the specifics of app to hardware integration.

Hm, unfortunately I haven't found a way to use it with a PC yet because the printer needs an app to pair with I don't know if there's a way to do that without running an emulator on the computer.
Can you print a full size page from say Microsoft word. Will it format to the smaller paper?
Hm, not from the app I'm using I'm afraid. Perhaps there is another app that can do that.

So, interestingly enough the software on the CD is for mobile devices. There isn't a software/driver package for use with a PC. I'm not really sure what is needed to make this work with a computer. Perhaps reaching out to the manufacturer for support may shed some light on this for you. Sorry I don't have a better answer for your question.

Can you print a scanned image on this printer. If I scan a receipt can I then print out a duplicate receipt using the scanned image
I suppose that is possible as long as the scanned image is saved as a JPG. However, I don't know that you would be able to get the proportions exactly right because I don't think that the printer does edge to edge printing. That is, when it prints photos, they are always somewhat shrunken. It might be possible using a different software/app than the one I am using in the video.

Unfortunately, I think the answer is no. I haven't seen a way for you to select Bluetooth printers from the printer menu in Google Sheets or Google Docs. You need to use third-party apps to transmit the data over to be printed to the Bluetooth printer.
How to make a receipt and calculation of prices with quantity
There are many apps that can do this. In the video I used an app called RawBT though it's not really optimized for printing itemized receipts. I'm sure that are better apps that can do this. Maybe try Square? I don't know if you have to use the square card reader to enable receipt printing though.

Sorry, I'm not sure. I've only connected to this phone with my mobile phone and haven't tried with a computer. I don't know what software you could use for PC/Linux printing.

When you say full images, are you saying that you only get partial images printed? Is the image the right scale but simply incomplete, or is the image "too big" and cropped or cut off? I'm not sure about the software .apk that came with the printer, as I didn't have a CD-rom to retrieve the software from the disk, but I did download an app from the Google Play Store called RawBT. This allowed me to print scaled-down, full images as shown in the video.
@@ReviewedByPhil Thanks for the response but I actually contacted the developer for the RawBT and had shown him my code. He helped me fix it so now I can print images both via Bluetooth/USB any size perfectly within my own application. Thanks again.

Hm, I'm not sure as I have not tried this. I'm not too versed on POS systems so I don't know if there's one that can connect to the printer over Bluetooth with the right drivers.

There is no auto cut feature on this printer. It is a manual tear-off only.

Sorry, this printer doesn't seem to have an iOS app that can be used with Apple devices like the iPad.

Yes, just make sure to connect to the COMS (communications) port and not the charging port.

No, I don't believe word documents can be printed. The supported file formats are .pdf, .txt, .prn, .jpg and .png

I guess if you really wanted to you could "reproduce" a receipt and change the text that needs correcting. You can't edit the text of an image though, before printing.
