I agree and disagree at the same time. I think that continuity is extremely important and would be upset if it took place in a supposed “alternate universe” like some are saying. But I do understand where people are coming from, as I don’t want to see Georgie and Mandy split either. I think for the show to work, it would have to end before Georgie and Mandy split.
I don’t like how most big events are based off what is said in Big Bang theory and why this can’t just be a separate project with the same fundamental characters and not just expel dying divorcing and cheating when this show has been a bit more comedy and light hearted show since the beginning
But it is canon that they split as after Georgie says he's never getting married ever adult Sheldon comes in saying quote " Georgie would marry his FIRST wife at 19"

Why do we have to stay consistent with the Big Bang Theory. Many of us love Young Sheldon while not watching the Big Bang Theory. Forget what was said on the BBT. Keep George in the show. He’s the best!
Because Young Seldon wouldn't exist if it hadn't been for The Big Bang Theory.

Young Sheldon is a spin off but it is still considered a canonical prequel. If we continue without George passing, the timeline is destroyed.

The “REAL CREATOR” that gets mocked every time some humans get their chance to. Didn’t care for Jim Parsons = big Sheldon always mocking Almighty God > Jesus Christ almost every chance he got! So happy about the spin off! People do get divorced and still have a relationship due to kids….or get back together. I’m so looking forwforward to season 7 and after! There are plenty of of people watching Young Sheldon who never watched TBBT

I just found the show a few months ago and binged watched. I don't watch much TV and loved this series! I don't want to see George die. Love how dedicated Georgie is to his [future] wife and how he wants to be a part of it and a part of the baby's life. The show, I think hit on a lot of difficult topics that were handled superbly. We do need a spin off of the Coopers. Bravo to the cast and writers!

Hate to get dark here but what if while in Germany Sheldon realizes that he does like Paige in that way but when he gets back it turns out that Paige died of an overdose and shortly afterwards George dies causing Sheldon to supress certain emotions while dealing with the deaths of both his first love and father at the same time that he felt that the best way to not feel the pain of losing her was to completely forget she existed
What if that’s why Sheldon truly became who he was in BBT IF Paige died he WOULDVE wanted to be alone forever until he met Leonard 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I for one would not mind inconsistencies between YS and the Big Bang Theory. I think YS characters should follow their own growth after all these years.
I think it is important to maintain continuity between the two shows. Young Sheldon characters can, and absolutely have been, following their own growth while still remaining consistent with TBBT.

It was mentioned in young Sheldon narrated by Sheldon that George does die. So he mist likely will die but i hope its in between the spin off and not during the season
That is really good a point! I almost forgot about that myself. All these arguments people are making about how George shouldn’t die argue that YS doesn’t need to be remain consistent with TBBT (which is absolutely does). But even if that were true, because adult Sheldon already mentioned it in the narration, not only would it not be consistent with TBBT, but it wouldn’t be consistent with itself!

If the spin off is as much a success as The Big Bang Theory or Young Sheldon, and if Georgie's and Mandy split, maybe Georgie's second wife could be Paige Swanson. Just an idea; we know Georgie's and Mandy split at some point and Georgie's chooses in women aren't that good.
That is an interesting prediction but I can’t really say I see any chemistry between the two of them. I think it is more likely that he will end up back with Veronica, as someone said in another comment on this video.
And #1 after #2 or even #3 can happen! I could tell you some really juicy and true relationships in my family. Each “couple” doesn’t have to get married anymore ya know.

Continuity is important. The entire wouldn’t make sense if George didn’t pass away. It doesn’t necessarily need to happen on screen, but it has to happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if Paige's original fate is to meet her unfortunate demise, but changed by the writers down the road.
At the cost of sounding selfish I honestly wish they keep going on saying George was never dead and that it was all a figment of sheldon's imagination. I am certainly hoping they keep going as it is for sure the best show we have seen.
How it could be a fragment of imagination considering all the times that George being dead was mentioned in BBT ? Even Mary confirmed that he was dead and that there was a funeral, pretty big for a fragment of imagination.

I really don't appreciate all the ribs on Pastor Jeff I really don't appreciate how the narrator here said even Pastor Jeff didn't report Connie what you seem to forget what a lot of people seem to forget is that they had a lot of positive history Mary working for the church all the history they had including that road trip that Marion Pastor Jeff took together and it wasn't villain like for Pastor Jeff to fire Mary from her leadership job when her family was in a compromising position because when you're in such a job you're a role model to other people and you shouldn't lead people astray it was perfectly reasonable and it doesn't make him a villain all people make mistakes and I like how everyone in the audience and even a lot of the characters in the show were talking about how the rest of the congregation should be more forgiving after Georgie made a serious mistake but nobody seems to be forgiving of Pastor Jeff as if they expect him to be perfect

Oh come on… the producers & directors did not think this deeply about Paige or any of the other discrepancies.. continuity errors are common! They let us fans argue it out!
Mary's Had to worry for others getting divorced and her husband dies later. Young Sheldon's Had some darker moments.

In my opinion, I sadly agree to George dying. It will give the viewers a more personal feeling watching the family mourn their loss. I think it will make the show more “edge of your seat” feeling.

Now wait,I thought I remember that Sheldon told his friends on "The Big Bang Theory" that his Dad passed away when Sheldon was 17,( I thought) they are ending the series,and I thought Sheldon,and Missy were younger than that yet? I can't believe they are ending "Young Sheldon" better than most of the crap they have on now! What will they replace it with? More stupid reality shows,and crime dramas,there's a ton of them already! ( They are also ending "Bob Hearts Abeshola" both written by the same writers,who also wrote "Big Bang Theory"...maybe they didn't get their way in last Fall's writers strike!?)

I enjoy YS for many reasons! The cast, the writing, the story. One of the main reasons is the absence of a laugh track! I thought I would give the Big Bang Theory a try, but the stupid laugh track ruined it!

I do not think George has to die. Instead, I think George should be caught having a summer long affair with the lady next door. His wife is so angry and so proud she demands George and girl friend leave town which they do. Then Sheldon's mom tell her kids that as far as anyone can know George is dead. Makes her kids swear to always say their father died. This would be taking a plot from an early Andy Griffith episode where a woman in Mayberry was so proud that when her husband left her, she told everyone in town he went to a nearby town and died. She even had a casket shipped to town and had a funeral for her husband. In that episode, after seversl years the husband came back to town. But would the two Sheldon series fans accept the plot rwust they had been lied to about George dying? I think George is such a popular character the fans would be thrilled he did not die. George could even tell his kids it is alright to do what their mom wants since she is so worried about her standing in her church and reputation in their small town.
There's a TBBT fan theory that Missy's first husband was Billy Sparks, and her second husband is Raj from TBBT. I wonder if the spinoff will address any of that.
I never heard of that theory, but that is very interesting! I wouldn’t mind it exploring the Billy aspect, but I’m not sure how it would explore the Raj aspect since the new spinoff still takes place before TBBT. I always thought Raj deserved to find love at the end of TBBT though.

No one has to die. Maybe Sheldon should have died after his first season. Sick and tired of the character. Missy and Meema are the characters probably responsible for people tuning in for 7 years.

I hope we see George's death and Geaorgie and Mandy's wedding and I don't think Missys done sneaking out because it seems like she changed and in the first episode she's filling in as the "mom" but in the last episode of season 6 Sheldon said she snuck out more than 30 times that summer
I would cancel Big Bang Theory and Leave Young Sheldon on. It's a much better show . Doesn't need the WAY overdone laugh tracks use in Big Bang Theory.

Oh man, looks like this could be 1 doozy of a really rough round. This is very entangled! Hmm 🤔I’m iffy about tuning into this last season. Esp, due to George dying. Don’t need to be reminded of that. Ugh, there’s just too much stuff in this series! 🤷♀️I’ve only seen a few episodes so I’m not really invested in it. But re: anyone dying = not my cup of tea. Aww, come on stop leaving the characters ending in such an ugly/awkward manner! Georgie & Mandy maybe should sincerely consider getting married or is this show just gonna do the same thing as the world does & live together til you get tired of each other & split up & yet they’ve brought a child into the world/family! Come on!! Let’s have an ending that promotes a genuine healthy relationship/togetherness & marriage due to the little child Georgie & Mandy produced. They should be able to show they can make their relationship & now marriage work out well. But they should also include the mother (Mary) due to her values/morals. Someone sure needs to make sure this family lives by something other than their own ways. Wonder why Zoe Perry(Mary) prayed as much & as often as she did? She was a very good example! 👍👏🙏 But again, don’t wanna see George dying just to get be removed from the show. Ech! There’s just too much of that type of ending in series today! I think that it will all come out in season 7 and Sheldon will somehow spill the beans about Brenda and George cheating on Mary they will get Devorced and it will either be the End of George in this series or all on the next spin off.
I doubt Mary will divorce George...because in "The Big Bang Theory", she was never divorced , just widowed.
She may THINK about getting a divorce before he dies, though.
