    Hey bud. Thanks for finding my channel! It helps me find other like-minded people who appreciate getting out and enjoying the outdoors. That is a nice hot tent and stove set up. That is one thing I want to get is a small cot to keep me off the ground. I imagine you slept comfortably. Dinner looked awesome! Thanks for the adventure.

    This is so inspiring me to try this before all the bears wake up! LOL I thought the sled looked a bit top heavy in the beginning! I've seen how some of the tent stove "spark arresters" soot up BAD with low burn fires if you're trying to keep warm all night. Your improved design is awesome!

    -12C is really cold and especially with a tent, so I can't imagine how you could manage to do that. Nice adventure anyway it seems like.

    Wicked trip!
    I need to get myself a winter tent one of these days. I went winter camping once and really enjoyed it. I love the design on the Eskers but they're a little pricey... maybe one day.

    • @RobMillerATV
      @RobMillerATV  2 года назад +1

      I wanted the pomoly hussar plus. It's huge 8.5 tall. But not available right now. And the price was high for my first hot tent. I don't like crawling around. I'm too fat to crawl lol.

    • @ElevationATV
      @ElevationATV 2 года назад

      @@RobMillerATV Lmao!
      Yeah those Pomoly tents are nice too. I'd want one big enough that I don't feel cramped but also small enough that it could easily be packed in an ATV.
      The stove is the hard one to pack on a quad unless you pull a trailer. I should have grabbed one of those Princess Auto ones when they had them here, kicking myself now.

    • @RobMillerATV
      @RobMillerATV  2 года назад +1

      @GhostSportsmanATV order one online. That's how I got mine. 91 taxed and delivered the stove is petty crappy I had to do some work to it before I used it the door was bent and bolts falling out. I double nutted the handle and damper. But a great stove after a bit of work.

    • @ElevationATV
      @ElevationATV 2 года назад

      @@RobMillerATV Yeah I heard the stoves not that great, but for the price and me being pretty handy I could have made it work for a night or two here and there.
      I don't expect to camp all that often in the winter but would be nice to have my own gear for when I do want to get out for a night.
      You did great for the first time, you mentioned that you were not far from home and thats probably best especially if you had to vacate unexpectedly. I have often thought about camping out on my inlaws property... load up the quad... take a 3 minute ride to the back...pitch a tent and camp! Haha.

    • @RobMillerATV
      @RobMillerATV  2 года назад +1

      @GhostSportsmanATV it's really about getting out to enjoy some winter weather. The same weather we enjoy avoiding. U don't have to go deep into the bush to enjoy that. I planned on camping today but the wind would make it uncomfortable. I want to have fun, not be uncomfortable lol.

    I have the same tent (have several) The inside tie outs are for winter to create a faux snow skirt, the outside ties outs are for summer which will provides a bit more headroom.

    • @RobMillerATV
      @RobMillerATV  2 года назад +1

      I'm pretty happy with the tent. The inside loops to make the snow skirt is one of the main reasons why I bought it. And it's a half decent hight compared to other tents in the price range. Thanks for watching!

    • @MichealBacon
      @MichealBacon 2 года назад

      @@RobMillerATV One more thing; I noticed you said it wasn't as big as you were hoping. This appears to be the same tent I have which is approx 6.5ft x 13ft. Is that the model you have here? Or did you receive a weird size? It wouldn't surprise me if you did, coming from overseas. They also make the exact same tent and colour in 5.2ft x 10.5ft. Btw, I bought this tent because of the tall zipper. I'm tall and feel the same as you - I hate crawling into a winter tent.

    • @RobMillerATV
      @RobMillerATV  2 года назад

      @Over50 Adventures it is my first tipi . I wasn't sure what to expect. I assume there would have been more room in it from the videos I seen of it. I'm to big of a guy to be crawling around. I have my eye on the pomoly hussar plus when it becomes available. That thing is a mansion lol. But was out of my price range on something I didn't know if I'd like. Hopefully next winter I have one. And yes it's the 6.5 foot version.

      The tent did just fine. I was warm and comfortable. But thanks for your input anyway. The title does clearly state it was my first time. I had no issues and don't plan on changing my set up. Thanks for watching.

      If funds are ok? Have a look at tentipi sapphire 9 an range. Not cheap but, for everything outdoors they are hard to beat.
