Hey Tony did you add anything else when you did the cams ie s&s cam plate and oil pump? Love the sound of the cams did it affect the gas mileage with the addition of those cams> Thanks Mike
Great video man. You just helped me finally decide which cams to get. I watched your other video too (in front of your friend's shop) and those numbers sealed the deal for me. Your videos were very helpful so, thank you. Ride safe.
Jody Cool brother, be careful, you want to be sure to have a every day driver. I chose not to but that's me, my guy told me it may effect dependability, do your homework. let me know what you decide....
Tony Ash. yeah I already did the super pro race tuner and full exhaust already.. what was your numbers? Don't remember what you said in the other video
Hey Tony...Who did your tune? Do you have a TTS or Harley super pro.....TTS is by far much better. Harley changed everything after they got fined for selling race tuners for street riding...they changed the tuners DRASTICALLY after that. I have a 2005 ultra along with the 2017 SG I just bought. I'm running 110 SE heads (ported) with .570 Andrews gear driven cams. It's a 95" and I make 108 ft lbs torque and 102hp in Wyoming (5500'...you lose about 3% per 1000' altitude) and if I can manage to keep my hand from getting too itchy I get 42-44 on the road as long as I keep it under 70. That goes down really quick if I go above 75...I have a 3" taller windshield from stock and there's a ton of windage. I also only have a 5 speed. I keep up EASILY with my buddies that have bigger motors and lighter bikes...but everyone thinks I have a 110" motor (that's what it says on the heads...hehe it's a 95...trust me) I have a close friend that's been building Harley motors forever and he's nervous about making more than 100hp without having a welded crank. I haven't had any problems but I don't beat on it all the time. I'm just wondering if you can smell the exhaust real bad at idle....it sounds like it's fat and the timing might be a little slow. Those two things might get you back any mileage you may have given up with those cams. I've tuned several bikes with those cams and the mileage usually actually goes up a little if you don't ride the shit out of it. Just wondering......sometimes the tuners don't think about midrange tuning and only tune WOT. That makes them go good when you're on it but cruising can suffer a bit. It sounds nice but I was really surprised to find out a good tune with cams usually wants a LEANER mixture and most guys right away ADD fuel and then they don't change the timing. Also, Harley sets the idle at 1050 and you can set it down as low as 925 without worrying about head oiling problems (the limiting factor on twin cams). It makes it sound AWESOME idling to set it down that 125 RPM. I wouldn't go below that or the rocker arm pivots may wipe out from lack of oil. Rock on dude! Not bashing your scoot....I'm a VERY good tuner (took me 2 years to get good at it and I screwed my own bike up a dozen times until I FINALLY figured it all out). I'm just making a suggestion to talk to your tuner. The Harley stores sometimes won't do what an independent tuner will do....and there is quite a bit of difference. I typically see a little more from 103 motors. You may have some hidden power and a little better mileage in there. LOVE the 107 M8...better not ride one...hehe But you got your scoot skoshed out pretty well....AWESOME ride!
I had a buddy that owns his own shop. Cycle Therapy in South Haven MS. He builds Harley race motors for himself and works on a ton of bikes. I'm using the Pro Harley tuner, before they got popped. This is the tuner that will void your warranty. I have had 0 issues and love the power. Sounds like your bike rocks, that's awesome. Thanks for the tuner info, ride safe brother...
Welcome....ordered the amp and speakers you're using......lookin real forward to putting them in. I'm n a trip in Florida right now....Orlando. Then West Palm then Naples. I'll be all over the place for the next 20 days. Then FINALLY home to Wyoming for a week and then it starts all over again. I'm a corporate pilot.....Citation jet and turbine helicopters. Keeps the hunger vampires away! hehe I'm workin on getting a dealership status with Zippers...their new cam for the M8 is very interesting.....I'm going to try one in my own scoot
Tony Ash,, question... my 2017 RGS has been misting oil from the air cleaner. Harley suggested a Screaming Eagle stage one intake. Road it for couple of hundred miles before tucking it away for the winter. Pulled it out last week.. did 50 miles and saw misting the right engine side cover. Talked to Harley and they said my bike would need the new Oil pump switch over. Harley had bad oil pumps in the SG and RG... I said since its under warranty and they are going to change the oil pump out then maybe a Cam upgrade is in order. Service manager said this would be the best time to do it since it the stock cam will have to come out anyhow. He suggested the Zipper 468 cam. Said it will be around $250 for the cam and its a bolt in. I read on You Tube that it will void my warranty. Do you know anything about that? My bike has 2400 miles on it. Also I'm not a wrench but if they do the Cam upgrade won't they have to change the push rods too ? Also do you have to put in a Tuner... ? thanks DAWG from MO ...
Barry DAWG Hey buddy, first it's crazy your air cleaner is leaking oil. You definitely need to get that corrected. Second, the dealer should be able to install the S&S can with adjustable push rods and cover the warranty. If they won't warranty the upgrade, check another dealership.
I have the ones with the chrome rings in the center of the grip, 2 rings. I'd suggest going to the Harley dealership to feel the grips, this is if they Carry them. If they don't, let me know and I'll find the model number of the ones I have.
I have a 2010 SG with a 96 and very interested in installing 585 cam kit, i run a 2 into 1 python rayzer exhaust and my question is run the standard 585 Cam kit or something else?
Harm Troff I really like S&S easy start cam, I also did adjustable pushrods. I would highly recommend a Dyno to optimize the motor. Ride safe brother, let me know what you do.
I have a 2017. Thinking of going with S&S cam. Eventually want to get rid of overpriced junk Stage 2 stereo and install something similar to yours. I like your bike. You’ve done some great upgrades to it.
@@tonyashHarley I have the same bike as you, s&s 585 cam, Vance & Hines power duels with high out put slip ons, getting installed now, They are telling me at Harley idle can’t drop below 1000rpms, yours to me sounds lower than that! Any how love your bike! Sounds awesome! Hope mine runs and sounds as good as yours! Ride Safe
beautiful bike man... Definitely gonna pick me up a street glide some day. I got an 06 Victory Vegas 8 Ball for my first bike. That was just after my 20th birthday. Going on 7 months with it now and I'm already wanting a nice bagger. The Street Glides are definitely the most beautiful bike on the road.

+19jody72 Totally agree, I only want a daily rider. I can jump on my bike now and drive to Canada and feel confident if I wanted to, that's what I'm about. Ride safe my brother.
Barry DAWG Hey buddy, not sure what model number but they are the version that is black rubber, 3 silver rings between the rubber and a silver bullet end caps. I'd suggest going to a dealer and actually put your hand a grip for sizing purposes. I love the grips.. Ride safe brother.
I bought the S&S 583 easy start cams for my 16 ultra that gives me power throughout all of rpms pretty sure it kicks in at like 1200 or 1500 and cuts off at 5000 I'm running the Reinharts with the high flow baffles right now and gunna throw on the Vance and Hines power dauls and S&S adjustable pushrods going to run the screaming eagle tuner and probably the screaming eagle ventilator can wait to see how she runs hoping to make over 100hp and it still be a dependable daily ride
Dont mean to bug ya again Did u do head work with that 585 bc ppl are saying on forums and etc. that the 583s need head work but S&S says it's just a bolt in cam

Thanks Mike
Michael Doucette no change to the oil pump, the milage is maybe a little worse, just slightly tho but worth it...
