Thank you for telling this story and helping to raise awareness for all of those who suffer with this unforgiving condition. The more awareness people have, the easier this condition is to prevent, diagnose, and treat.
topical steroid withdrawal do not happen only with long period of use or bad use of steroids. It can happen after two weeks. TS should not be prescribed as easy as derm do.
Great for awareness of this horrific condition. The only thing is the phrase " caused by inappropriate steroid use" That 's absolutely not the case. It's really " caused by inappropriate prescribing practices by doctors" In my 40+ years of steroid use (escalating in amount and potency), NOT 1 doctor or pharmacist warned me about my very long-term use.
I’m currently dealing with this issue right now. It’s not fun at all, facial swelling, burning, tingling, itching, cuts, oozing. I’m literally in tears every morning, because I have to go to work looking like a monster. I should’ve never started using this cream and my doctor could’ve warned me about the cons of using steroid cream, instead of giving me the pros.
@@shekelialewis6274 I have never used steroid before did I have been prescribed one for seborrheic dermatitis and hair fall but I am so scared to use it.
There's no benefit on weaning the patient off topical corticoids, specially if the skin is already showing signs of addiction. The sooner you stop applying exogenous hormones in the skin, the sooner the body can get to withdrawing.
you need to change your diet. Get rid of all dairy, eggs, gluten, wheat, caffeine and refined sugar. it will be hard at first but then it becomes easy. Eat plenty of veggies and wild caught salmon and fruit ... i promise you you will heal
@@9188tennisgirl Thank you.. I had a visit to my dermatologist today.. My situation is really worse.. I have rosacea too on my red cheek now... :( Yea I quit diary, eggs, caffeine for quite long now.. I took lot of emotional stress last year and it is paying 😞.. anyway mentally I am much stronger and happier these days.. Me and my doctor have decided to quit all antibiotics and creams after 5 days. Lets see how it goes.
@@9188tennisgirl Hi Alexandra. I'm all for eating whole foods and being healthy, but TSW is a drug withdrawal and the symptoms can't be fixed by any simple diet! Time is the biggest healer, and I think as well meant as your advice is, telling someone they have to completely overhaul their diet when they're going through a crippling and debilitating drug withdrawal is a huge and unnecessary burden on them.
@@yourTSWgirl I agree with you. I started out eliminating so much out of my diet but now I'm more relaxed about it. I find no difference from before and now. I don't go out of my way to purposely eat bad foods though. Like unless you get an allergy test or know for sure that you're sensitive to these foods I personally don't think it's necessary to cut them out totally.
I just feel like a dermatologist should be presenting such videos in raising awareness. The only time dermatologists see this is where there was unmonitored use of topical steroid. I think the title should be why eczema patients always need to be under specialist dermatologist care. Because we see these patients and they rarely ever get better without any alternative, of which the good news is that there are new biologic therapies available such as dupilumab which target the cause of the eczema instead of just treating the symptoms of the eczema as in the past. Decades of research Brought these new treatments in to fruition so it's not that steroids where prescribed ignorantly it's simply that no other alternative was available
I'm currently going through TSW...It's a living hell
Fuckin oath it is!!!! the worst kind!!!

I'm in the exact same boat. I even asked my doctor what the cons were and he didn't even mention it. Its terrible. Good health soon my friend
How long did you use it?
