They make frame rail kits for that. I live in Michigan and work at a frame shop. See that all the time. Very fixable. As long as the customer has the money

I tried getting a car wash subscription for a couple of months this winter, turns out I has to chose a more expensive option to get the desired undercarriage wash, and the degreaser they used was watery junk. Your results may vary though
On this situation, I suspect it wouldn't help at all, my dad just sold his 04 as parts with 80k and it looked about as bad. Every time it was out in the winter, it got washed, but it didn't save it. Even after we stopped driving it in the winter at all, it continued to rust pretty bad. The sitting just kills them after the rust starts. The only solution would have been to fluid film or oil bath it. It is also very dependent on what county you live in, some use way more salt than others
My friend has a 2022 GMC Sierra with a leaky rear window seal too. It’s been leaking since new and they also denied warranty. It’s actually starting to rust around the corner.
The frame is rusted apart. The body is rusting apart. It's gone. It's done. Rip it apart for the motor, transmission, and everything else, scrap the body and frame.
Salting roads is stupid...plow and sand is the only way that really works...go to any ski resort and that's all they use and it works...and it's recyclable...community's that use salt got sold a bill of goods...get off the salt people...

Most of our trucks in the fleet are rusted and had to have lots of welding work done because of it and even I had to recommend we start using krown and fluid film on our newer trucks because they were too stupid to think of it before. Sand is what I think we should use too.
Part it out. Tons of good used parts to sell, starting with the 69,000 mile drivetrain and ending with the body parts that are still rust free and the bed. Shame.
Find a guy that lowered his and they probably have one of these pieces laying around, I remember the kit I put on my uncle's truck had different pieces to bolt on, and I just scrapped the originals.
I had a coworker who turned in a low mileage Silverado like this but without any sign of rust because his wife convinced him it was too big for their driveway. He now drives a Kia Soul and has convinced himself it’s much better than the Silverado ever was. 😂😂
Now you have to worry 'bout engine fires,and they are so easy to steal,got a friend with '13 soul , attempted theft tore up dash etc ,repair bill 2,800.00 no comp. insurance, lives in assisted care facility...nn

This happened to me when I bought a 2006 Infiniti M35X from a used dealership. Only had 118,000 miles but when I took it to get a muffler delete, it was rusted from front to back. I later found out it came from NJ, where there’s salt water 😓
The frame rail is fine, it just needs the forward leaf spring mounting bracket. All you'd need to do is torch out the rivets and bolt a new one in place (they run about $70).

The low miles tells that it sat in the grass for a long long time. If you didn’t know this, leaving vehicles parked in the grass rots them away very fast.
So glad we dont have to deal with all that ice and snow in the south. I actually really wish we did LOL but NOT the effects it has on vehicles! We still have my grandpas old 97 Silverado! Its still drivable today.
These trucks should have been recalled because of rust issues, my friend had the GMC version & it's bed mounting rails rusted out in under 4 years & the entire bed had to be replaced
Im pretty sure thats my friends old truck. Idk what he did to pretty it up but he made it look like it wasnt so bad, sold it banking on the gorgeous interior distracting someone. And clearly it did, for quite some tine too i might add.
"don't know how you would fix that" I've taken 20 of those brackets off of frames to lower pickups. I even have the piece that would fix it. Drill out 6 rivets, bolt/or weld the new one back on. Could be fixed in a couple hours tops. But it should probably be stripped to fix up a 300,000 mile truck. Transmission by itself is worth more than the truck, because someone always needs a working 4/l60e
I bought a 2006 Avalanche... A garage queen interior and body perfect ... Got it for 10K when I bought it mileage 100K miles ... It's an awesome truck everything works I got lucky finding my truck. They are out there. Peace
Definitely savable! Replace the frame or gut it completely for the engine and drivetrain, interior and body parts. Could build one complete truck with another donor.
I had to repair a completely rusted out rear shock mounts on one of these trucks had to make new frame out of some channel and also made new shackles we charged about 2100 for that fix but it kept the truck going strong the leaf spring mounts like in this video were almost rusted out so I expect to see it come back in soon

Pop the cab and box off and stick it on a high mileage frame. Pull the engine and trans if they’re still good. Then you got a good truck with low miles and a not rotted out frame
My friend had one of these trucks for a Massachusetts truck it managed to stay in almost new condition with no rust only had about 70,000 on it and it was a 4.8 ls trim 2wd and some idiot ran a red and totaled it but insurance never wrote it off since it didnt have collision the frame wasnt damaged but it destroyed the left front bumper fender hood grill lights and the radiator it didnt over heat but it still sits in his yard over 2 years later I keep trying to convince to either fix it or sell it and nope wont budge

torch out the rivets to the shackle mount bolt on new shackle mount good to go for the leaf spring. super common problem. about a hour or 2 fix. cut out the old rockers cause every chevys rockers rot out and its a done deal.

At a glance, looks like just the shackle is toast. The cross members that are buried in top of the fuel tank are probably not in great shape though.

Drive it or as you said sell it. The drive chain is worth a nice piece of change.
Throw some frame stiffeners and a new spring mount at it, weld those up and call it a day.
