Looks like you really got to know the essence of X4r! Just a note regarding the tie rods. We put a lot of time and energy into developing those. Testing different materials thicknesses Etc until we came up with one that bends and doesn't snap so you can usually limp the board home and there are no sharp parts to hurt you. That's Scott mentioned we made these very affordable on the website so you can replace them as needed or if needed Another big change we made was with the angle of the shocks. We took what we learned from Endeavor and applied it to x4s. The x4r shocks now return the energy to the spine of the board instead of just being used to dissipate vertical energy Great view Scott. I will definitely bring up skid plates with the team. Glad youre enjoying her! Ride hard, ride safe, RIDE PROPEL!
you mention the angle of the shocks could you please elaborate about the return of energy to the spine? also i'm curious, are these oil filled shocks and because of the angle of the shocks does that take away from the amount of suspension you get? thanks
On x4s, the shocks are in more of a vertical position so they are strictly absorbing vertical forces, have nothing to do with turning or steering. With this Endeavor like angle, when the shock returns, you can use that energy (think of riding in a berm). It's a similar feeling to preloading a ski, you land it and then release it into the next turn. It just feels.more I tuitice than when they are only absorbing vertical forces. This is Russ from Propel, I thought I was in my Propel account, my apologies
@@castnortheast i'm curious, what was the thought behind not having oil shocks? would this not further help dampen the shocks? doesn't the 3 gt have oil shocks?
I also have this board, X4S, and End 1 Pro. This one is my favourite, but it is not universally better than X4S. You cannot remove the battery to take it home to charge and leave the board in the boot, or to make it lighter to load into the boot or carry it home from your parking lot. The ESC feels more dangerous and less reliable than the previous one, and it does not have real cruise control. The range is the same as X4S with 2 batteries, and because there's only 1 battery you don't know when your battery is at 50% so you need to go back to your car.
Thank You Scott!!!! 🤠 I'm presuming those routes allow EV access. Are there any laws or things to look out for when going on trails You can recommend I look out for? That is besides the basic look out for and respect other trail users. I find 98% of the time other trail users are chilled, but one does get the odd grumpy cyclist throwing their weight around. Also interested in what other riders approach is. I'm with You on the flashing when breaking back light 👍
For you personally, on the a similar type of ride and on similar type terrain, which board would you estimate to have the longest range, this X4R or the GT3 with gear drive?
I agree. They're fun without bindings but the bindings keep you in the driver's seat so you can push it more aggressively. To each his own though, as long as you're enjoying yourself I wear mine extremely lose fwiw, I always come out in a crash without even thinking about it.
@@alenpln when you're off road on trails bindings help more than on road long distance.most people wouldn't do 50khm flat out without stopping regularly..
see if that was the bajaboard scott you wouldn't of come off at any point on your trip but man propel do make a fantastic board not as good as the bajaboard. propel boards are for beginners to intermediate only, bajaboards are for skilled riders.
I disagree. Plus, Baja uses an RC-car-style remote that not everybody can use (my index finger cannot precisely apply pressure for 2 hours in a row, but thumb - easy).
@@scottdaviesyoutube Yes. You should be thrashing on that beast of a board. Bindings and dirt half pipes, 30 MPH. You can't just ride it likes its a pivot. I like your videos generally but your big time now and with that board you could have at least found someone to show what that thing is capable of. With all due respect.
@@scottdaviesyoutube this might seem like a stupid/silly question but how much movement in the suspension is there? i'm curious if the angle of the shocks make much of a difference. how does it compare to say, a acedeck z3? also hows the control? I had a bajaboard g4x and it was incredibly twitchy. nasty thing.
@theaccordiondude6416 acedeck Z3 is acedecks AT offering. You'd compare that to the Propel Endeavor The X4r is a fully offroad capable board, hugh clearance, 4wd, etc., comparable to. Baja G4x

@theaccordiondude6416 not oil shocks, it's basically a spring tower for the coil over spring

Looks like an awesome board!
100 lbs that's nuts!!
another thing scott, your content is awesome and you look like you was born to skate.

didn't even trim the ends off .................. !!
What the hell are you on about ?
Thanks for the advice “champ”
wish I could afford one to rip around!
Yea these aren’t cheap

I literally waited years for you to review this one 😅 still looking good ❤it 💪🔥⚡️⚡️⚡️
*Hell of an update!!* 🔥

I really would like one of these (if I won lotto). It's not super different from my Endeavor but it's different enough that I'd love to try this.

Scotty, get some bindings ..Need one of these for my Jamaica vacation...

Can you do 50km of riding with bindings? I only tried riding a board with bindings once and my feet were sore after 10 minutes.

I can finally afford a new board and its gonna be either this one or the acedeck nyx z3. which one did you like better?
Z3 is for mild offroading, the same as Endeavor. X4R is for hardcore offroading.
Tried to by one but I dont think they ship to the uk
Is it possible to put cloudwheels 165r on it?
Hmmmm I don’t think so unfortunately
Propel coming for the crown 👑
They’ve got such a solid lineup at incredibly reasonable prices
for the mad specs they offer they really are reasonably priced.💨🤘
Emtb for serious off road for me...🤔
My god man are you seriously going to do a 60 km ride . That's insane . Your legs will not thank you for that . I'm a wreck at the 40 km mark .
What brand helmet? 😂👊🏼
Leatt enduro 4

You ain’t riding that board right bro.

But it's not better than the omw
Haha mate the OMW wouldn’t even make it on the smooth stuff let alone the off road stuff comparing those two boards is redundant
