Honestly paladins just crossed my mind and that's why I'm writing this now and I gotta say I miss something about this game yet i don't know what I know that there are better multiplayer games yet my mind is coming back to this place. Paladins is an underrated gem that has a soul unlike these big games on the market right now and yet it still hits me like prime fortnite or overwatch but those games are no more and paladins just feels like It's stuck in time but In a good way.
Yeah, the game is in a really strange state right now. It is soo good but has still too much lost potential to feel good, mostly because of its extremely buggy code and small money's for development.
the best advice is try to match up with decent/good players asap! as a solo player you CONSTANTLY get reported by trolls, crybabies, griefers. I would estimate half of all matches as a solo player are like this, it sucks. So group up with good teammates/friends asap, this is NOT a good game to play ranked solo ❤
Solo q only guy, I quit ranked because of it, and how toxic the community is (peaked plat 2 like 2 years ago, since then only play for fun on my Drogoz and Koa)
Strange enough, the bottom picks best characters are usually damage and flanks, at least at my elo. If I don't pick a tank they won't either anyway. And most of them think playing tank means standing on the point and spamming need healing.
This stays true as you move up, doing tank saves first prevents situations where for example you claim and early blaster and have no response to a drogoz, dps as a defensive role is under appreciated and is worth saving for last to counter pick.
Tip 6: pick a good dps and carry. Unless you are diamond (you dont need this video if you are diamond or above), at those lower tiers sadly you will find lots of casual players that are genuinely bad or dont play the meta, dont counterpick… those games are extremely hard to win as a healer or most tanks and you probably have to pick a meta dps character that can carry the game by itself by killing everyone of the enemy team. So basically just play andro, vatu, evie, maeve, bk, lian, cassie, willo 24/7
Can you eventually make a video explaining counters/synergys? That would probably be a lot of work but I think 99 % of your viewers would learn something with the majority learning a lot And the things you already talked about in this video were insanly interesting I'd love to hear more
Fishnet did a good video explaining exactly positioning. Usually support stays high ground with the dmg to have always vision for evryone and to help each other in case of dive. Generally tanks are for making space and enabling your carry that's usually the dps. So you peal for them as a tank you are always in front and pushing and taking cover to so you don't waste all the heals. Also talent picking is very important, I see a tone of double point tanks or double heal talent supports that's lose of course cuz you can't have 2 of the same thing.
The video is very good and informative i think all paladins players must watch it but just a little tip to make it better for next you could've shown gameplay of the match where you were playing atlas because even though you are losing that was the match you have been explaining on for half the video it would've made more sense. About unspoken rules: Never think that 4/5 pick will take what you want/what's needed. 1) Many of low picks has much less rank than you, so they just don't know what they have to pick. And if you are watching this video not just for fun, you surely will get gold(may be even silver), who doesn't know what's offtank. 2) Many of low ranked players go rank matches just because casuals are too boring and easy. And sometimes are drunk(like me). And we don't want to win, we want to have fun on the role we want. And we will take what we want, no matter what you are expecting. In this case may be rarely somebody has fun playing offtank or aggressive healer. But you will never get point tank in this case. And usually you'll need to take tanks and healer if you want a good teamcomp(bcs nobody will do it for you) Keep that in mind if you REALLY want to win. Understand who are you playing with and is your team going to fill gaps in draft
My problem is that I just don’t enjoy playing ranked. It takes ages to get a match running just for the last pick to quit and start queuing all over again. People are extra toxic in ranked and they also don’t take constructive criticism well (although this is true in casual as well). As I don’t really play ranked due to the above, if I do I end up with people who always throw pick, don’t know that we should have 2 tanks or simply come to ranked when they can literally only play like 3 champions.🤷♂️ and when they get called out they are the one who start trash talking. Why did you make the first point/s at the first position...😮💨🤦♂️ Literally, everything is more important. I've seen wins with everything in streams as well as in my games. This game has so few people who play well while playing seriously (rn), and the balance is much better than in previous years. We all know that one of the biggest problems is toxicity, and that gets worse every time someone says, "Nah, that champ/comb is unplayable." Deck composition, fitting usage of your abilities, havin many champions/decks to play, not giving up instantly, using ults right, being unpredictable and communicating can carry you much, much further while still being fun. I hate that extreme meta focus in this game more than the bugs it has. Sure, Meta is great, but we literally just learned the meta before it changes imensly again. There are not even enough games in that little time between changes to test just half of all the combs and dont even scratch all the deck combinations. If you really want to win games you thought you can't, PLAY THEM and dont be a toxic ahole. Correct those people ONCE, and if they say no, be fkin quiet and try to make the best out of it. Every second round someone cries and plays like trash because someone's pick is not meta enough. Fun fact: THERE WILL BE ALLWAYS THOSE PEOPLE. Isn't that why we love Paladins? These rounds, nothing worked like it should, but you and your team still made something out of it.
Apologies for the rant. Ultimately, the developers are at fault. The best player, so usually the one with the most champions, picks first, often without any opportunity to see what the others can/will play (despite real communication through voice or chat). In reality, the pick system itself is toxic because, as a "good" player, you're expected to prepare for mistakes your teammates could make, often with little or no information. Last picks have it even worse. They can't choose what they want (as long as it isn't an obviously easy champion) because most often no one trusts a last pick and dont want to save ("there's a reason you're last pick..."). Then, as the official worst on the team, they have to pick a champion they can play that is still available while it still needs to be meta. So, the worst players have the hardest time picking, while the best players have the hardest time compensating for mistakes. How can this not be toxic? All players would need to be the most agreeable and communicative personalities while being incredibly resilient to real trolls. That's simply impossible. We either need a way to show champions to the team before picking so everyone can better prepare, or we need to reverse the pick order so the worst players pick or ban first. P.S. I'm not saying it doesn’t work as it is now, but it will always be somewhat toxic in the pick phase unless something changes.
@@Redmentoos pre-picks would be awesome rather then the one at a time method. Bans could happen first and then a few minutes to team pick and strategize like in war, You huddle together first. Or a 50% ban 50% pick and then again 50% ban 50% pick. It would definitely eliminate the current frustrations of noobs doing noob things
Yeah, that would be a bigger change, but by pre-picks, I meant like in casual wich allows you to just click your champs to communicate which champion you are going to use/can use. Actually, in lower elo, inorder for people who pick last to get there champs the high picks need to save them but then they need to set a lot of trust in them, so most often in single rank they won't(despite Big meta picks..) and if they fill bad because no saved ("worse" players often communicate worse too..) they get flamed because they make mistakes or don't do well. It's a lot of pressure, and it kinda sucks because they're already low rank, and now get flamed for it just because there the last one to decide if its a good comb. I think it might be more fair if they changed the pick order so that it is the best one wich picks last and the "worst" one wo picks first. But baning should still the best one (so last pick), so if the worse ones pick bad, they do it on start, and the good people can try to build strategies with and around there probably bad picks.
