In depth Can Am Maverick R 400 mile review

- I go into my impressions of the Maverick R after around 100 miles of trail riding and 300 miles of Glamis time. Some things you would expect but probably more that you didn't. See if you think the Maverick R is the dune car for you after seeing my review!

Thank you for your review. Since I've watched a bunch of your stuff in other vehicles it's nice to hear the differences you see/feel. For me, the single biggest thing that interests me is the fact there's no belt.

Really appreciate your videos, I've been riding a Talon and IMO it's a must to learn how to manually shift it in the Dunes. I feel the Maverick R is the same way. In auto mode it sometimes shifts when you don't want it to. After a couple days of manually shifting it becomes second nature and to me makes riding more enjoyable. You do use more fuel and the Maverick is a little harder to hear when it hits the rev limiter.

Appreciate the review. I sold my 2-seat X3 and RZR XPT during C19 with the intention to buy a 4-seater. From what you've said I'll sit tight and wait, hopefully the wheelbase is more playful than the X3 limo. I will say I duned with an X3 limo (tuned RR vs my stock R) and was impressed. With the X3 rebates you can pick one up with SS for under $30k. I'm expecting the Mav R 4-seat to be over $50k. What really makes the value proposition difficult is I loved my X3 and how nimble it was. Anyways I sub'd and look forward to more of your content.

I just purchased one of these and took it out for the first time this weekend. I have a significant vibration in the drivetrain starting at 40 to 45 mph. How smooth is yours? I didn’t go any faster of fear doing some damage.
I can't say I've noticed a lot of vibration. There is a fair amount of clunking noisee though as it goes up and down through the gears.
It vibrates the bottom of the seats.
I am going to try and test drive a different one to compare. I do like the machine.

I confirmed with the dealer there are two recalls on the items you talked about. They ordered the parts for me and will schedule my car to repair once the parts come in.
Is gear shifting with sounds and knocks normal???

I was going to buy a mav r to go with my pro r untill i found out the maverick r has alot of problems it doesn't have navigation, doesn't have speakers because they want you to buy the audio roof but if you buy it your stuck with the stock cage and speaking of stock cage the c pillar doesn't connect to anything, has weak a arms and upper radius rods I saw 3 mav Rs break down at utv takeover sand hollow 2 were bent a arms and 1 was a broken upper radius rod that broke off and stuck into the tire, soft suspension in the rear that bucks like crazy and people will say you can tune that out but the can am race mav r with tuned suspension still bucks in the rear bad, the tires rub stock inside, speaking of tires good luck finding tires for the stock rims other than the stock ITPs that are on back order for now because of the rim size, ITP from what i know is the only one, it understeers, steering is rough and jerky, its 6 lug so goodluck finding a wide range of wheels and the fit and finish is horrible so make sure to pack duct tape because pieces keep flying off of this car. Btw you have to go to the middle screen for almost everything which is ridiculous it has no switches and you have to buy a different roof in order to run a windshield so what happens if you run a aftermarket cage with a windshield where does the roof intake go? The black and yellow mav r looks like bumble bee from transformers lol and the car is super quiet. Side note the car is always shifting which is annoying in auto it won't rock climb in auto the power cuts out. I could literally go on alday about how bad this car is the paddle shifters don't turn with the steering wheel, the beeping when the door is open is annoying, the car clunks and makes noises, storage in the cabin is really bad, you either run switches on the panel and have no place for intercom or gmrs radios or you run intercom and gmrs by the shifter and lose a place to run switches because lets face it you want the gmrs and intercom in the same place together in the center dash lol it's sad because I love the x3 but the mav r is honestly one of the worst cars i think ever made. The pro r has non of those problems the only bad thing I can say about the pro r is stock cage sucks, 2022 pro r ball joints suck and the clutch goes out after 1500miles or atleast it did for me but these are all things you can fix alot of the things I mentioned about the can am are unfixable. I'd take a x3 over a mav r any day of the week. I like your channel and think your honest good dude id really like too see you in a pro r then see and do some reviews on both. Im not saying the can am doesnt have performance im just saying for all that money you get more for your money with the pro r and the pro r looks better lol.

@user-mw9yh4cu2i well when the pro r first came no one said anything about the looks and when the mav r came out that's all people talked about is how ugly the mav r was. Literally everywhere I looked people were making fun of it.
