Absolutely Fuming RANT At Cornwalls Parish Council The Lizard Green

- All my videos are filmed using my iPhone 13 Pro Max and edited on CapCut app’.
For those that don’t know me I was popular on RUclips despite only having my channel for just 8 months.
I had over 540 videos nearly 1 million watched hours, several thousand subscribers and was gifted products to review from companies.
Unfortunately in April 2024 I felt compelled to take it down due to my personal safety was compromised.
However since then safety measures have now been put in place allowing me back on RUclips.

They do actually pay all taxes due like everyone else does apart from council tax, given the changes not to pay anything would you take it ?
All the van dwellers I'm aware of all work and pay into the system non of them claim or take from it , its our choice the way we live nobody should have an opinion on other people's situations without knowing details 👍
This is my worry as time goes on and as van life gets bigger and more people leave the system behind the more restrictions the government are going to put in place they don’t like anybody being free they are control freaks and I’m getting sick of society. The points you make are spot on Mark and your videos are great keep them coming 😊

I get it on the canals. People buy a house on the canal then put signs up saying don't moor outside my house or opposite. Ha ha ha, don't buy a house next to canals. Muppets..
This is a problem in Cornwall, even for locals. I am local to Cornwall and know the Lizard well, it is quite likely the parish council do own the land, or at least have legal authority over it.
I agree there should be a sign, stating any restrictions. At the moment people can park there free of charge, if local residents get the hump the parish council will likely impose more strict control and charges which will affect visitors and locals.
Landewednack is the modern spelling of the old Cornish name Lanndewynnek and is understood to be comprised of the Cornish words, 'lan' meaning 'sacred enclosure' and 'Wennac' meaning of Saint Wennac, so the enclosure of St Wennac. The parish church is dedicated to St Wynwallow's Church considered to be the same person as St Wennac.

Firstly I just want to say I love your videos, you are one top bloke, I dream of becoming full time living in a van, watching your videos and what you say spurs me on more. Unfortunately it does look like Landewednack Parish Council does own the green, it is on there asset register, Land
The Green it was acquired in the 1930’s the revenue it brings in is eye watering, on last years budget report Green Donations
26,500.00, I have copied and pasted some of this off their website, why can’t these people just cut the slack for vans and encourage them more, probably make more money out of it. Keep up the videos buddy.

While I don't agree with this daft note, parking anywhere is one thing, but there are laws to say you can't just park up and sleep overnight whenever you want. These people cling onto that and go around with these notes.

Basically its residents who think they are more important than you or anyone else in a van. My brother has lived in Cornwall for years but now it is becoming ruled by the 'Elite' with money and big houses - pricing local people out of the housing. Same old Cornwall,i left there years ago,the locals sell their houses to people up country as we say,then those people don't like tourists etc parking anywhere for free!They take your money then say you are not welcome,glad i left when i was 18 yrs old,backward attitude with over priced properties and no jobs for young people,hence i left,no regrets!

If it's the place I know, it's a donations parking thing, land registry would confirm who owns it for sure. Google streetmaps shows signs about parking/camping in 2022, so would see this place as a higher risk area for an overnight parkup. Lots of houses, toilets and businesses around it's edge, personally, would be a spot to avoid for an overnight.
A lot of land in Cornwall is not registered, under English law all land in England (and Cornwall) is owned by someone.

Agree with everything you said in this video. You are 100% right. It’s is total nonsense people feel the need to try and dictate where you can and can’t park. And as pre plenty for camp sites, where you have to pay.

As far as I can tell lizard green is Common land, so park, as its everybody's land,
Trouble is councils be they parish, town, or whatever, think they own everything.

It is common land. Under English law all land is owned by someone. If the owner is not known, then the parish council act as trustee for the owner until they return. The local authority have power to make by laws and public orders to restrict parking, they would need to erect the appropriate notices if they want to enforce or impose fines.

Was there a signature, or is it anonymous ? Yeah probably by a nimby...park somewhere else. And if EVERYONE TOOK THEIR RUBBSH it would make a difference, some prople arent as considerate as others.

It's ok to say you don't take notice of the stupid notice placed on your van but it brings down your energy and puts you in a darker place. The world is too full of that at the moment. I hope you can enjoy the rest of your Cornish trip. I found that area very unwelcoming. All very well to say there are commercial places to stay but for most of us the cost is prohibitive. Besides it's so much nicer to stay off-grid.

Comes across very bizarre. No legitimate parking signs or regulations and then leaving a note asking you to donate to the local council with no advice how or how much and normally that's done via an official website.

The name for that council sounds made up. As far as I know there's only one local authority, and they all have a website. It's Cornwall Council in this case. Unless Cornwall is absolutely massive they need multiple local authorities.
It was probably one of the local residents with nothing better to do....and they're probably jealous of the life you live.."fuck 'em".
I just reckon if it aint a parking ticket then just park away as you are and dont waster any energy thinking about it,if they had the power to issue a ticket then i have no doubt that they would have ,more then likely a local busy body with dull life!

It's probably a case of the few spoiling it for the may by leaving their carp there and abusing stuff. Playing devil's advocate here, they could always turn it into a regular car park with astronomic fees, legal action and fines which are common place everywhere - but not here though. Nobody has the right to own the earth under our feet, a blade of grass, the sky we live under, the air we breath, water that falls from the sky... No one has the right to tell another person how to be, think or live their life only the very mentally and emotionally sick and greedy believe they have this right. As long as you don't encroach on or hurt another person in any way and all you leave are footprints... please can someone explain... what the fuck is the problem. Since I’ve found your site which I really enjoy it has lead me to loads of other vanlife sites which I now know are click bait there appears to be a lot of part time so called van lifers they all seem to head to Cornwall and are not discreet like true full time vanlifers . ❤

Im sorry to say i don't agree with you on this one Mark. If its private land, and there letting you park there for free through the day thats brilliant, but not abiding by the rules will probably make them start charging, then it spoils it for everyone. Its like someone just parking on your drive.
If they don’t want you there, then don’t be an arse and move on. I never overnight where I’m not wanted - it’s just basic decency, and if you actually paid a mortgage, you’d understand.
