Honestly, 39 > 40. I just hated how they handled the Bloodline Rules stipulation. For starters, it's just a No DQ match. Laaaaazy booking. Also, if you're going to have Bloodline Rules, why not go all the way with The Bloodline getting involved? Yes we were all bored with the typical Roman match formula at this point, but this was a missed opportunity to skip a step in that formula and have The Bloodline jumping Cody from the start to really amp up the consequences of losing the night before. I watched the main event of 39 again just to compare. It takes a little over 10 minutes for Solo to start interfering in that match. In 40, we don't even SEE The Bloodline until the last 15 minutes of the match. Yes it gave us great moments, but I just think it fails as a match because it barely takes advantage of having the consequences of Night 1 actually mean anything negative for the baby faces.
WWE doesn't like guys actually cracking that glass ceiling Vince would yak on about and snatch that brass ring. It's really the reason I stopped watching them TBH .
