Can we just appreciate the intro of pat summerall at the beginning?
For real. Brings back so many memories of watching games throughout my youth
Amen
Yessir 💯
Goat
He was the best at that
There's something about that NFL FOX music with Pat Summerall commentary that's just freaking epic!
FACTS you can also add the words classic and legendary.
Yeah. John Madden is my all time favorite color commentator. He was just simple. Pat was too. He’d let you watch the game. He didn’t try too hard. Got guys like Romo nowadays who try to call the play. Is that color commentating? John was colorful.
Why do people think Pat Summerall is good? I think he’s one of the worst announcers ever. He has no excitement, he’s basically like bad Joe Buck but worse. I’ve literally never heard him get excited at all. In one of the Super Bowls he called, with a game winning kick, he literally ruined it with his call. No idea why people like him.
@@garrettlash3947 He's a great narrator, but a boring commentator. insufferable
@@garrettlash3947 for real. People seem to like him because he’s old. He’s boring and monotone AF. Joe Buck is way better but gets more shit
Why doesn’t the NFL do intros like that anymore😭😭
Because at that time real MEN walked the earth
Creativity is hard, and the NFL is run by accountants who are in the business of making as much money with the least work.
they did for some games last year (seahawks vs 49ers, steelers vs ravens)
Because the NFL became the No Fun League
Too busy making sjw propaganda
You know the Bucs and Ravens defenses were elite when they carried QBs like Trent Dilfer Dimes
Also, Shannon Sharpe made Dilfer look...not good, but okay.
In Baltimore Trent Dilfer had better weapons like Shannon Sharpe, Jamaal Lewis, Priest Holmes, and Quadry Ismail. In Tampa Bay he only had Warrick Dunn and Mike Allstot.
I remmeber dilfer dimes on sunday nights lmao
@@QuiltHoncho FACTS
Dilfer was a pro bowler this seaosn tbf
OC: Its 3rd and 45 in our own 20, what do you want to do?
Trent: Dropback pass
bucs d vs packers o was some of the best the 90s had to offer.
I miss this era so much! I just wish I could find a full version of the Packers vs Panthers in the 1996 NFC championship game! For some reason it's so hard to find smh...
late '90s through early 2000s is the best era of football. The best announcers, classic players, lots of competitive teams, and it was before there was a million mouth breathers like Cowherd and Skip who get paid to make noise but know nothing about the game
Cowherd has good insight from time to time but yea Skip is just a troll.
Back when you could actually hit someone and play defense
I gotta speak up. The late 80s and Early ninetees had these guys around. The 80s had a great team called the 49 ers. The early nineties had a great team called the Dallas Cowboys. These two guys were together over at CBS too. You can’t leave the 80s and early 90s out.
@@WellseeTheend Fair points. My only follow up is that at it's pre-expansion of teams like the Ravens, Panthers, Jags, and the relocation of the Oilers. Still a good era, I will give you that
For me it is late 2000s/early 2010s because you had the greatest upset in NFL history (NYG vs NE), teams like the 2009 Saints, 2010 Packers, 2011 Giants, 2012 Ravens and 2013 Seahawks all making incredible SB Runs.
It became the Tom Brady annual SB after that.
You still have the great announcers who are still calling it today. And btw Buck >>> Summerall.
Anytime I hear Pat Summerall’s voice I instantly think of the “Replacements” movie
Amen i grew up as a packer fan watching with my father and thought the packers woud be in the super bowl every year
Amazing video quality for 1997!
The best years of smashmouth football imo before targeting got over the top....

RIP to Madden too…
If you’re watching an old Packers game and he has that terrible goatee on his face he’s about to ball out lmao.
For Real Bruh 🤣
Favre gets disrespected nowadays but he was THE MAN in this era and he won 3 strait MVP's for a reason. I don't think anyone else has ever done that.
Part of me thinks Favre is better than Rodgers
@@unnanointedonesufi if rodgers threw a bunch of picks then sure.
@@unnanointedonesufi No. More fun to watch sure but not better
@@unnanointedonesufi If Favre didn’t turn the ball over so much then I could agree with that, but he lost a lot of games by throwing so many careless passes. The only thing I’d really say Favre was better at than Rodgers was his toughness and ability to keep his head up after struggling
Who disrespects him
14:21 one of the craziest catches in nfl history and the commentators didnt even acknowledge it
It was Pat Summerall, you expect too much.
Because Pat Summerall is the most boring commentator in NFL history.
@@EMAINIEMore like one of the best of all time. And who cares if he sounded dry. The way he called games professionally made him great.
@@EMAINIE he was the play-by-play guy. It was Madden's job to keep the conversation going, and he was a little hit and miss.

Packers and bucs have an underrated rivalry
Yeah not really lmao you’re clearly not even 15 years old
@@blackdonaldtrump3869 lol
No they don't. They absolutely have no history at all.
@@osurocks24 They were in the same division for over 20 years
@@benjaminfoss9117 I was talking about NFL classics. They don't have any memorable games but good point. I forgot Tampa Bay, before the 2002 realignment, was in the same division as the NFC North.
Trent Dilfer basically lost this game for the Bucs. 9 out of 30 (at one point) yeesh. It’s a testament to how good their defense was...that final score could have been so much worse.
The defense bailing out Trent Dilfer? Hmm, where else have we seen that...?
This game the special teams also cost them 6 points.
if tom brady played bucs win with ease
Yeah but this is before the NFL ruined the game and 60% completion probably led the league now 60% is bottom of the league football was much better before the refs threw a flag on every incomplete pass or called pass interference
This is the nfl I fell in love with. I miss it.
Amen
This is championship game going to be epic and go history
Nice English buddy
@@jacob_andrews3657 who cares bud
It was a DIvisional Round game, these 2 were arguably the 2 best teams in the NFC that season! IIRC, the Packers were the #2 seed at 13-3 while the 49ers, ( who the Pack beat the next week in the NFC Championship) were #1 @ 14-2. However, San Francisco played a much easier schedule and were beaten , ( both physically and on the scoreboard) by the Bucs to open that 1997 season! Favre threw a couple of picks that day, but that Bucs Defense was in the early stages of being one of, if not the best Defense of all time! Right up there with the 85 Bears, 2000 Ravens, or the Steel Curtain of the 70s!
This ain’t age well
im predicteding packers bucs 2022
hats off to Dorsey, dude probably got 9 concussions in that game
Levens rb?
Beast Mode for sure
Ah yes back when people weren't such crybaby wusses about concussions and player safety like they are today. And notice how the throwback channel hearted every comment except this one? Because they know!!!
@@HeathNation2465That's were I have to disagree with you, concussions can lead to serious problems after football.
@@stephanrosa5182 Allow me to correct myself. I don't think going after concussions is an issue. It's the approach of the league as it pertains to concussions that's the issue. Because they're using it as an excuse to change the game in ways that are not even related to concussions. Which is why we have blatant ref ball and why the morality of these teams has declined on the field these past few years.
Brett Favre went to back to back Super Bowls, and he also had a very underrated defense behind him
They had the #1 defense when they won the super bowl in '96 I believe.. I don't think anybody underrated them.
3 consecutive MVPs as well
@@varsityathlete4786 they were more known for Favre and the offense tho
Rodgers would have went back to back as well twice with the D Farve had
@@gdiZzy1 if he wouldve stayed healthy then yes but, defenses really hit the QB back then. I dont know if he would have been tough enough to withstand that. Favre was made of steel
Trent Dilfer has a ring because of the 2000 Ravens defense and Shannon Sharpe. Watching this, you understand how good they were.
😂😂😂 that's cold
The Bucs offense would’ve had to run my fade after the game if I was on defense, they really cost the Bucs the game
Specials teams was terrible also
This packers defense was legit
@@ericpackers1700 yeah but the Bucs’ offense especially in the late 90’s early 00’s were so bad. Had the Bucs had a middle of the pack offense in 99, there’s no doubt in my mind they would’ve won that Super Bowl
Loved the Favre/Sapp rivalry. These teams saw each other a lot back then (NFC Central Battle of the Bays).
Dorsey ran like Alstott in this game. MVP for sure. And the Lambeau crowd was electric. Back when the Pack was unbeatable at home.
these highlight packages are great, but I would love it if the NFL expanded Game Pass by about 10-15 years. This channel is proof that the NFL has full games going back at least that far, if not farther. It would undoubtedly cost more, but I'd pay for it, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Most people thought they gonna see the "New Uniform Bowl" if you think about it Buccaneers and Broncos both updated their uniforms and their logos the same year well at least it helped the Broncos win back to back Super Bowls
Packers also slightly updated their unis for this season, too. They went from Starter to Nike and got rid of 2 sleeve stripes; Packers haven't done a damn thing to their unis since!
The Bucs had a ton of future Super Bowl Champs leading the way. However, most of them won them with different franchises
Sounds like Minnesota
Madden and Summerall nostalgic awesomeness 🙌 👌 👏 😎
Brooks and freeman very under rated duo and they both played special teams. I miss this type of football 🏈 I never realized the bucs were good in the late 90s

Even tho he was diminutive, Warrick Dunn was tough as nails.
10k rushing
First time I saw Warrick Dunn was in Clemson when he played for FSU. He personally won that game. The line would be clogged. No running up the middle. No passing game. Every other play tho. You’d see the lines and there was no light and this little guy would squirt around the end. He looked like a twelve year old boy. Clemson must have had 13 guys in the box because when he got the edge it was over. It was sickening.
People forget they won with michael pittman
