    Thank you for properly explaining the diagnosis! One of the better RUclips channels out there! VERY UNDERRATED! You earned a like and a sub from a fellow technician and support your work sir, and understand your frustration but I can appreciate a technician who will actually diagnose a problem and not just throw parts at it! Well done!

    Thanks, great video. I got 2018 1.5 fusión se ecoboost turbo . At 100C/ 230 F the engine coolant overheat lights up for a few seconds then drops . It did this a few times so I was driving it to mechanic when I started going uphill and the same warning light came on again. This time I lost power and engine warning light came on. The code was the p1299. That’s it. Should I start by replacing the cylinder Temp. Sensor first or check the wires to the ecm.

    I watched both your videos and this is my issue. I can’t afford to buy the coolant level sensor at the moment. Could I just hook the male and female end of the power steering and just bypass the coolant level sensor. Do you think my car would run without coolant level sensor hooked up for a couple weeks till I can get part?

    • @antonioaguirre6166
      @antonioaguirre6166  Год назад

      I needs the sensor signal in order to read the coolant level. Otherwise it thinks it’s out of coolant and it will go into limping mode

    Is there a way to view the value for this sensor in Forscan?

    • @antonioaguirre6166
      @antonioaguirre6166  11 месяцев назад

      I don't think so, this system was added after the car was build, there is a TSB on it. there is really not much information about it. that's why you cannot get diagrams about it to nay info.

  • @mikeyM614
    @mikeyM614 Год назад

    Hi there, this system is on my fiesta st180 2013 model. But the fuse that you check at the start is different on my car so I’m just wondering what that fuse does on your car? Is it a Powertrain module fuse or something?

    • @antonioaguirre6166
      @antonioaguirre6166  Год назад +1

      fuse #40 5amp controls the power steering control module (PSCM), and coolant level sensor. When the p1299 comes up is to let you know that the coolant level is very low, and it will disable the car at least on the ford escape. this is done by the powertrain control module to prevent any overheating and prevent any damage to the engine. The TSB shows that these engines tend to leak oil from the valve cover, and it leaks down onto the turbo. overheating the engine will overheat the turbo causing the oil to catch on fire. that is why ford added this system to prevent this to happen.

    • @antonioaguirre6166
      @antonioaguirre6166  Год назад +1

      it is not a powertrain module fuse; however, it will trigger the PCM and will disable the car. I hope this information helps you, thank you for watching, like share and subscribe it helps the channel.

    • @antonioaguirre6166
      @antonioaguirre6166  Год назад +1

      not yet! check the radiator cap or the radiator itself. lots of times they leak very slowly and can't even see it. usually at high rmps, if its consuming coolant you should have a sweet smell coming from the tail pipe.

    I have a different problem. The car on idle throttle doesn’t heat. While driving a few kms the temp rises. Stop for a few mins temp goes down .. .. I’ve noticed some bubbles coming up the coolant tank. Can you advise?

    • @antonioaguirre6166
      @antonioaguirre6166  9 месяцев назад +1

      sounds like you have a blown head gasket. any time you see bubbles coming out of coolant tank that mean the pressures from the combustion chamber is scaping into the coolant system

    • @antonioaguirre6166
      @antonioaguirre6166  9 месяцев назад +1

      you going to need to replace the head gasket or replace the engine. if you decide to replace the head gasket, make sure that you take the cylinder head to the machine shop and the cylinder block is not warped.
