Cort makes really solid instruments, and puts them within reach of working musicians. Once we mature past the logo on the headstock, there are a lot of great quality instruments out there. In my opinion, that’s a stage-ready instrument.
Man, that intro was mixed absolutely beautifully, the sound coming from side to side, absolutely fantastic. Was so surprised to come across such a quality mix on a review video. Thank you for the experience sir.
It's really cool to see new stuff from Cort. They always make a great instrument, and for less than a grand - an all solid-wood acoustic with an ebony fretboard and saddle plus the Fishman Blend - that's a lot of guitar for a great price! The gear available today continues blow my mind. Back in '81 my Sears Flying V and Alamo 1x8 combo - LOL! Amazing what you can grab today without a refrigerator-rack system that cost more than my first car. Excellent video as always. Always looking forward to your content! Keep doing the good stuff!!!!!!!🤘😁🤘
Great fingers and a really nice down to earth guy ... respect ... You could make anything sound good ... It's all in work ethics and of course a great touch ... that you don't learn ... it comes within !!!!
Excellent video! For the past several months, I've been lamenting the fact that it would take me most of the rest of my life (I'm 65) to save up for a Martin SC13e (about $2k). Then I discovered Cort guitars! The A6 and A8 (Rosewood body) offer fantastic sound, as you've demonstrated here. The NDX50 also comes equipped with Fishman electronics (the older Presys Blend preamp, with which I have experience), and sells for around $700. So yes, I'm definitely looking into Cort guitars. Great sound, but leaves me with beer and burger money after buying one! 😃😃😃
Gee, thanks, Pete. I just dropped several Ks on an acoustic guitar, will be eating Ramen for the next year, and it doesn't even have a pickup! Why couldn't you have posted this a couple of days ago?! 😉
Dear Pete, awesome review. I am on path where I need to decide between A6 and A8. I like LB and visual on A8 more. Would you recommend it to me or that A8 isnt as good as A6? In specs It looks like to me its same guitar. Thanks for answer. 🙂
I'd be curious to put this Cort up against my Norman B18 which also has a Fishman pickup, though no extra microphone. My Norman cost a little under $500 Canadian when I bought it a year and a half ago.
I dropped a Fishman Presys Blend preamp into my used Briarwood (Peavey) acoustic. The sound improvement over the factory electronics was phenomenal! I was fortunate to find a seller in Taiwan, who dealt in OEM merchandise.
Yep, the Cort. That was the acoustic guitar I chose over the entire mix in all local guitar shops, 24 years ago.. That guitar was as important as underwear or food. $110 cash out the door, Thoroughbred Music, Tampa Fl. I named that soundhole: "The World According To Cort". I have some HILARIOUS and heartwarming photo's with that guitar. *btw*, there's a secret with an acoustic guitar with ebony fretboards. (Secret weapon).
How was the action after you set the truss rod? Saddle and nut cut good with a 'low' action? Just watching you play that one part, she looks pretty fast... Especially that far up the neck. I assume you didn't get a dead fret on it as well. Every time I watch your channel, I always have to say what your playing style reminds me of... *Dave Matthews and Blues Traveler together!*
Pete great review as always. I always check your videos if I need something inspiring. Do you have any video of recording from scratch to mixing a full song? Please if you don't have one could you please make one for us beginners to intermediates? Thank you.
It was just about right once I did the truss rod adjustment. You might be able to set the neck a little straighter than you think. Alternatively you can always go to a tech make sure the nut is cut just right and have them dial in the saddle
Great playing Pete, but you lost me on this. Within the "sub $1000 acoustic" catagory, there are SO many great options- with pedigree. Try Yamaha acoustic guitars (for example, and among MANY others)- as they have been building these almost as long as (unmentionable) domestic guitars. The Cort does sound good.
Yes but this is a video about the CORT acoustic guitar. In the sub 1000 category. If Guitar World asks me to review a Yamaha acoustic guitar in the sub 1000 category then most likely I will make a video about a Yamaha guitar in the sub $1000 category
@@PeteThorn Fair enough! You are a master at locating great gear (I have taken SEVERAL pedals that you have demo vids of as seriously fine additional considerations, and you demonstrate real world applications by doing amazingly slick recordings with the product!) In short, you do a fantastic job, and hopefully my comment wasn't perceived as agro!
And at the end of the day, your skills pay the bills and you don't have to flip burgers. I still trip out that you played music with CC. Just surreal. I'll never stop loving you for that.
They come in the mid range to high action. It's up to you to fine tune the action. Otherwise some gronk like you would complain it's way too low. I adjusted my A8 and no big deal. I even had to re-shape the bridge after lowering the saddle,,, Shock horror. Most shit house factory set ups actually come from Martin and Gibson so there is that,,,

I have been looking at this guitar and am sold. Going to purchase one. 😎🎸

Ha!!! Sears V! Awesome
Great review bro would live to see you do a review of the cort gold edge👍❤️
Always sounding amazing... thank you!
Thanks!
The 6 dislikes on this video must be from Taylor, martin, gibson, fender, guild, and takamine...🤔 lovely review Pete and guitar sounds great!
what about the taks ... great guitars well procedimientos not overpriced ! cheers😂😂😂
Thank you Pete. Super helpful video. Much appreciated.
Beautiful instrument! Nice playing👍

What a playing. Phenomenal!

I had a Cort acoustic long ago when they were still Cortez. Great little guitar!
I am always stoked when you put out a new video. I love the songs you make. always.
Thanks!!

Nice job on the intro. When I hear Cort I think Blues Brothers.
Congrats Cort!!!
I love acoustic guitars
so very well done Pete
Impressive pick-up sounds
Has a nice tone!

The main difference, aside from the finish, is that the A6 has a mahogany body, while the A8 is Rosewood (Pau Ferro).
There is also a Cort A6 bocote as good as the A8. Bocote is similar to ziricote, so it has a balanced sound on all 6 strings.
I'd be curious to put this Cort up against my Norman B18 which also has a Fishman pickup, though no extra microphone. My Norman cost a little under $500 Canadian when I bought it a year and a half ago.

Cort in general always deliver.
I got this model last year, sounds good!
Here in Indonesia is among $475- $500
🤯
Get a Faith FKV and make a aide by side comparison please. Their price ranges and specs are amazing
Yup
Cracked me up Pete, talking into a guitar. ;)
Nice demo Pete! The guitar sounds pretty good. Did you try the DI with an IR?
What strings are on this guitar?? Great review!
Hi Pete - do you use a Humidification system for your Acoustic Guitars? Any info is appreciated.
Pete great review as always. I always check your videos if I need something inspiring. Do you have any video of recording from scratch to mixing a full song? Please if you don't have one could you please make one for us beginners to intermediates? Thank you.
Nothing quite like that yet although that is basically what my clinic covers
Damn that's awesome!
Is that the setup from the sandle @ bridge height to nut is low action?
I have the same guitar and I really love it! but... dont you think the action is still a little bit high when doing fingerpicking?

@@PeteThorn You should not have to. Should be good out of the box.
Got the A8..come on Fishman..can’t even put marker on the dials..
Pete what was that mic you were using.. thanks.
The best review…
niceee!

I have to add that I in no way shape or form have any endorsement from Yamaha- or anyone else for that matter! Lol
:) all good. They just contract me to do a job… I’m just a cog in the wheel :) but it’s a fun gig.

The action on mine is way too high. How did this pass QC? Made in China, that's how.
