As a nephrologist, I often encounter Christian missionaries visiting the hospital ward to offer prayers for patients. They usually collect money from the caretakers. When non-Christians are present, they visit frequently to become familiar with them, eventually visiting their homes to persuade them to convert to Christianity. Some missionaries have even come to my home, urging me to join their faith by labeling me a sinner and a non-believer.

The Jain King Kumud, who ruled over Goa, had to face the demonical wrath of the notorious Inquisitor Francis Xavier of the Goan Inquisition, the Catholic missionaries along with the brutal Portuguese army demanded that King Kumud and about 22,000 Jains abandon Jainism and convert to Christianity, the valiant King refused to convert and therefore under the supervision of Francis Xavier all were brutally and violently slaughtered. The jain saints were executed by being strapped to live cannons and blown off.
After this gory bloodshed and violence, Francis Xavier was conferred sainthood, and declared as Saint Francis Xavier.
This piece of history is not talked about and conversions happening in Kerala, Karnataka and in goa should be mainstreamed.

"Aghast by the local traditions followed by Hindus, the Portuguese were angered by the locals following a religion other than Christianity and ordered all temples within the colony to be shut; this marked the beginning of the bloody Goan inquisition that comprised of gross human right violations and mass executions of the local Hindu, Jew and Muslim populations.
In 1541, idol worship was forbidden in the Portuguese colony of Goa and over 350 temples were destroyed by the Portuguese soldiers. It had been officially declared that being a believer of any religion other than Roman Catholicism was forbidden for residents of Goa.
The infamous Francis Xaviers and Martin Alfonso were sent to Goa by King John III of Portugal in 1542 to initiate the process of converting Goan residents to Roman Catholicism. On their arrival in Goa, they were enraged by the New Christians of Goa secretly practising their previous religions (either Judaism, Hinduism or Islam), while also upholding their Hindu values and traditions. A disturbed Francis Xavier wrote to King John III of Portugal on 16th May 1546 to impose inquisition on Goa in an attempt to ‘discipline’ the residents and make them follow Catholicism."

The real target of conversion is not the person converted but the children of the converted, who will then be required to attend church & christian schools where pastors would indoctrinate them and fill them with contempt towards their own ancestors and ancestral culture.

I am a nurse (Kerala) had done my BSC nursing in a nursing college running by nun sisters( Catholics) . Out of 50 students 16 were hindus , 4 Muslim and rest were Christians . I had noticed that they are targeting Hindus, ( especially girls, hostellers). Those hindu girls wearing rossary used to get good scores( internal and practical scores- both together include more than 50% of total score.)
I and another one girl were not wore rosary, so we got hardships including bad internal scores and had compulsory night duty during our festival seasons like Vishu, Navaratri, Sivaratri etc.

Imma say this im not religious but i am technically catholic, and the conversions was a real shocker when i found out about it, not really surprised by it especially when you know when colonialism and the church work hand in hand. From what ive been told the reason people are still christian and not what their ancestors were, is not because of any complex but because they believe in jesus, it all comes down to the core of it, just because a group does something really horrible in the name of the religion does not mean the essence of the religion or core of it is bad. Lead your life the way Jesus led would be the essence of a true christian would be the thing. Thats the best i can explain it. I think a reason that they believe Francis Xavier is a saint is also because his body is decomposing at a much slower rate. Maybe that could be a good video to go through or try and debunk. Also reason people are still in the faith is because there are story of miracles like seeing Our Lady Mother Mary helping folks. I know one in goa where she helps a ship crew find safe land and in Tamil Nadu i believe where she feeds a child milk i think or gives him a g container of it. As a Goan Catholic, I denounce the atrocities commited by the Portuguese in the name of religion. Why I am not reverting back to Hinduism is because it is Jesus who we follow and not the Portuguese. Kind of like how Gandhi said that he likes Christ and not Christians.That is why we wanted to join India. Also no where did Jesus say to convert people with money or the sword.

As I said earlier, in the new testament, people converted without force or money. Mostly through debates and preaching. If you don't accept Jesus as your saviour, that is between you and God. The preacher left the place and moved on like Paul. I say this in order to make it clear that unlike a certain prophet from a certain religion, we are not called to wage war and convert people by force. Even ancient Israel was not commanded to go and conquer the world in the name of God. A certain religion has done that but not Judaism or Christianity.
Nobody in the New Testament was forced to become a Christian. It is only much later in the 4th century AD.

I am from Goa and so were my ancestors, there was an inquisition that took place. There were Christians in Goa before the Portuguese conquered Goa. We have old documents n records still intact, information recorded n kept safe . The Portuguese came and converted the Jews , Hindus , Muslims and the Christians to Roman Catholic religion. These conversations were done 2 ways. With force and with incentives cause those who dod not get converted were treated like second class citizens. Over the period of time al most all has converted. We plege our alliance to India despite the fact we got nothing. In fact more is taken away from us every passing day. Destroying our state and robbing our land further decimating our culture.

Based on his occupation he can be anything among the 4 varnas. If he is teacher or accountant or anything related to academics he will be Brahmin,
If he is police or administrators he would be kashtriya,
If he was merchant or businessman he would be vaishya
If he was farmer, labourer etc he would be shudra.
But in modern non of those titles hold any meaning so he doesn't need to chose any.
There are many ex christians who are now Hindu. You can ask them which caste they joined.

Forceful conversion is always a crime.
But , Christians are commanded to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ so that everyone can be saved.
Stopping preaching cannot happen.
Because preaching isn't a crime, but forceful conversion is wrong.
When I read the history of our country, I felt bad that many got converted forcefully and I felt that Christianity was a foreign religion.
But the truth is that there is nothing wrong in Christ.
I didn't feel anything wrong about Jesus, that's why I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior.
And after knowing this truth that He saved everyone from their sins, I have to proclaim the good news.
If people accept or not, We Christians have to preach the Gospel.

But because of some money minded corrupt preachers, the non Christians always doubt us.
Saint Thomas never forced anyone, He just preached.
He was persecuted and was killed.

But God Himself came in the human form and preached righteousness and about repentance, and died for the sins of all human beings including me and you.
Whoever believes that Jesus died for the sins of all and receives Him as their Lord and Saviour will be saved.
Salvation is the free gift from God, but we have to receive it.

In Goa Portuguese mostly managed to destroy temples and convert Hindus in the talukas of salcete and tiswadi , in this areas if you see churches facing east - west you will know that it used to be a temple earlier.... You are wrong on one point that majority of goans were converted, Goa still has a Hindu majority ....secondly it's not about inferior complex it's more about living in peace with blood relations who had to convert and accepted Christianity in course of time .
