- I finally got ahold of the ultra rare 2023 Mopar Edition Charger and Challenger Scatpacks and give you the run down of this special package. With only 200 US units of each, these are some of hardest Scatpacks to find on the market, but are they worth the 70k sticker price?

True they can't add horsepower can't put a big 410 rear end gear all because they're only allowed a certain number of gas guzzlers a year depending on how many high mileage cars they sell that car is nothing but a dealer mark up waiting to happen Just a sticker package they can make 10 of them and it don't really make a difference. Nothing fancy about the GTO Judge bac in 1969 other than two engine options and some stickers.
@@NXT_LVL if you're going ti talk about the Pontiac GTO, Judge. You should know the car's production was started in 1969 and ended after only 300 units were built in 1971 before being discontinued. People obviously were smart enough to purchase a regular GTO for less money or other brands of muscle cars. The reason most people would purchase these current Mopar editions would be for the hope of flipping them for a profit. I'm guessing the next final edition will be return of the Plymouth Road Runner using a Challenger body.
@@DWH300I don’t think there’s another final edition. I do think v8s will return eventually but both body styles are done anything we get in 24 will be a challenger on a new body style

The base price for my 2021 ScatPack was $39485. My cost was $48265 and that included the Plus Group, the Driver Convenience Group, Alpine Stereo Group (wish I had gotten the Harmon Kardon) and a sunroof. So yeah, Dodge is definitely hiking the prices on the 2023s. Also, the Widebody was a $6000 option, not $8000 like it is now.
$48k is responsible. The asking prices now days is just stupid.
I just decided to buy an older car, build it, and now it will out perform them. It's actually truly "exclusive " because my son and I built it, and it runs almost as fast as a 170.
People are fools to pay these prices. Folks go buy a car with a chassis that is designed for power and or handling and enjoy it, take it to the track, drive it and park it at the movie theater with out worrying if it will be there when you get out.
It's time the dealership learned, we don't need them or their over priced cars
Yes I got my 2020 Scatpack WB decked out when the WB option barely came out on the charger for MSRP of 52.3k. I actually bought the car for 49k so yea those were the good times.

History shows us this has been going on for a very very long time. Worst of them all was the Harley Davison edition Ford F150s/Lightning. Thats what happens when everyone got "brand loyal" based on pop-culture back in the 1970s and its carried on throughout. What made a Roadrunner popular to the public? It wasnt just the cheap price for the 383, it was the stripes the meep-meep horn and the bigger 440. GTO Judge too. Dart Swinger, Demon, Duster all the same car. Superbee was just a Coronet, but the Superbee had a Bee on it (SCAT Packs) as played on by the Rat Pack of Dean Martin, Sinatra etc. Its ALWAYS been about marketing.
@@NXT_LVL The Harley-Davidson F-150 was a collaboration between Ford and Harley for producing a very limited number of F Series pick up trucks. Through 2000-2912. Only 70,000 were built and sold before being ended. The F-150 never ended production like the Challenger and Charger.
These scams have been going on for decades. While the quality and reliability has disappeared, and prices have skyrocketed.
I picked up my Mopar 23 challenger in January! I just got the call from the dealer today too come get my owners kit. Very excited

@thomasthurston6656 If you're talking about in a Charger it's just because it's a Charger, not because it's got a slant in it. That's just the barrier of entry for a late 60s Mopar B-Body. Gotta pay to play, and Mopars have the highest ticket price of the big three.

@thomasthurston6656 Ok? How does an LC/LA have anything to do with a Slant 6 or 60s B body? Mopar isn't Mopar anymore and hasn't really been that in decades, let alone the last 5 years, but in their heyday...nothing could touch them. As far as collector value, nothing can touch them there either, unfortunately. Any solid rolling chassis of any Mopar is ridiculously inflated compared to even a rare Camaro/Chevelle, or nearly any Mustang from the same era. Idk what a new Challenger had to do with any of this, though 🤷🏼♂️
It’s OK! All in all, it’s just a scat pack with stickers and a carbon fiber wing! Is that really worth $9000? numbered or not the demon 170 will trump all over these cars and collectibility! I’m still super king on your 170:) what an animal. Glad to see you back Mr. X. Been missing your uploads.

The whole point of collecting is having a car that’s difficult to find. Mopar edition trumps the demon 170 in numbers alone. 170s are not even selling out like many thought

They throw some new $5 badges at it, embroider something on the headrest, and put a small wrap on the hood and POOF. It's a "special edition." Then they charge thousands for it, and fools buy it.
Dodge wins while they sit back and laugh while they think to themselves, " Wow, these fools actually buy this shit lol."
And so they make more.. smh

The Challenger is a perfect combination. The Suede and 6 spd, Carbon touches are Hi End . The stripe design is tastefully done. Not Overbearing. And the bent towards Handling is a clue to do Suspension/Chassis Mods to get it to a perfect package.

Sad how all the final editions only have 6 crap speakers. They should have all included HK systems for the pricing.
ACS composites makes carbon fiber accessories for the challenger/charger. The only difference is I believe theirs is glossy.
I have a Mopar-11 edition Charger. Granted it's an older model but the Mopar editions are tuned differently than the base model

I've always liked the Mopar editions. For what you get, it wouldn't be worth it for me to get one and deal with greedy dealership mark ups. Thanks for the great video RacerX!

I really enjoy your Mopar related videos. I have owned many mopars, with my first being a 1970 Dodge Dart. I currently own a 2006 Dodge Charger RT Daytona in Top Banana colors and a 2023 Dodge Durango RT with the Hemi Orange and Tow & Go packages in Destroyer Grey. I like driving cars that are a bit unique and fun. This video got me thinking. Is there any way to determine how many Durango RTs were produced in 2023 with the Hemi Orange and Tow & Go Packages? I live in Tucson, and I haven't seen another Durango like mine. If you haven't driven a Durango RT with the Tow & Go Package, you should check it out. It's definitely a fun daily driver.

My first car, H.S. Graduation Present was a brand new off the Dealership Showroom Floor was a 1973 Brown 340 CID CUDA. It ran pretty good for 240 HP. I think the 1/4 in 14.5 or a 15.5
I preferred the Challenger to the Cuda but my cousin had a 1970 Dark Green 383 Pistol Grip Shifter Challenger, so I wanted to be different.
The Cuda was an Automatic Slap Stick with a white interior.
It was a big hit with my friends.
A lot of fun to cruise around downtown Altoona PA. Back in the mid 70s just when insurance and gas prices began to hurt the Days of the Muscle Cars.
The Cuda had an MSRP of just over $4,000 and “we” got the car for $3,400.
Unfortunately, the Cuda had problems with the Voltage Regulator and that part was replaced 3 times.
Trading the Cuda in 1975 at the Pontiac Dealer was for another showroom floor car:

I still hate to be parked on a hill, bumper to bumper or at a Stop Light on a steep hill.

Bad knees and age now eliminate the manual transmission for me.

I got mine #63 and I don’t give a second thought to what the nay sayers have to run they’re yaps about…. It’s an awesome car and gets nothing but compliments wherever and whenever she hits the street. And whenever it comes to collecting it doesn’t matter what anyone says because the numbers matter from cars to as simple as a pair of shoes.

I own a 2010 Challenger
with a Track Pack. It says that on the window sticker and build sheet.
I was trying to figure out what the difference between Track Pack and Super Track Pack.
Then more confusion Scat Pack.
Dealer couldn’t tell me.
Mine is a 6M trans so maybe that’s part of it.
Thought it would make a good video subject.

The super track pack cost more because they added the word Super. It comes with summer tires and not all season. Dodge is a joke with all their "special editions." Just a scam to take your money and to make you feel special.
In the end, people who buy these "special editions" are getting played and robbed out of their money.
I remember the 392 being 39k, and about 46k for the widebody back in 2019. I believe the widebody Daytona was about 49-50k which is a loaded car. What are they asking for this car? Over 60k, for the same car with some trim upgrades. They can't say it was R&D, or new tech. That's just nuts.
Wife has a mopar 11 comes with 3.91 gears only car that I know comes with that. It’s a beast off the line.
I checked out a CDN vin #, options are 23n scat pack, Mopar 23, plus group, Mopar strut, Mopar Int, Mopar Pins, 6 speed, tech group. $86,000 CDN That Carbon fiber spoiler looks way better than SRT rubber version, Humm

They should have done a blue 392 decal instead of default scatpack badge. Blue stitching would have been a good add on the interior. Seems kinda lazy to me. That spoiler, strut tower brace, and serializing are good touches. Would have liked to have seen some kind of performance adder like 100 octane tune on any special models for instance so it wouldn't be just a "sticker package"
Excellent video Racer X. The dealers will ruin the two cars by marking up. I was interested in a Charger GT Black Top 4WD, but they wanted $4K over sticker. I told them to pack sand.
The carbon fiber spoiler would be a MOPAR accessory in the MOPAR performance parts catalog. All rhe add ons on MOPAR editions were. To get you to BUY THE AFTERMARKET PARTS!
I'm guessing when Dodge tested the 170. It was determined a larger spoiler didn't work at the dragstrip
You can order that spoiler that spoiler comes off for 1320. It's the car that's just under the demon it has that same sport on it

They send the owners packet with the book and plaque to you month after buying it. That is what happened when I bought my Mopar 19 edition.
I called so many dealerships looking for this challenger, I need a automatic trans because of a bad knee. Can't seem to find one.

Or buy any charger, then buy the wing, the mopar emblem and wrap the hood. POOF you have a "Mopar special edition "
Not worth the money even tho very limited edition, I'm super happy with my 2023 300C which only cost me $55k (MSRP) [not including destination and taxes], and I basically get the same performance.
There is nothing limited edition about it. Make your own for 20k less or more with your used 2021 dinosaur V6 and go wild through the catalog Lol. 😂😂😂 Make your own ultra rare special MOPAR edition V6. You probably can sell it near msrp then😂
@@bundcaas hear what you are saying but these cars are literally numbered (passenger side, MOPAR placard [186 of 220] 4:17), even if just an appearance package, that makes them a 'limited edition' from the factory, and therefor dealers are going to add a markup. I know it's dumb, not going to argue about that.

These are not a 1 of 20 number matching 1971 Convertible Cuda Plum crazy white interior white top, 4 spd built on a Thrusday when the wind was out of the west with 12 miles on the clock and sold for 1.2 million...

I drove the challenger edition week before last. It put a huge smile on my face! I would have liked to have seen Mopar on the side instead of the 392 . Stereo sucks compared to the Harmon Kardon. I still want an automatic trans compared to the manual… but it’s funny I called the dealer where I bout my 22 scat and said MSRP? Nope… called a dealer where I test drove the car , it is at MSRP. Dealers , … they still gotcha by the balls ✌️❤️

just as rare as my 2023 challenger superstock I think only made 208 to 250 and it has 807hp

1500 only made in the 4 years it's been made 244 in 2023 with no stickers or badges from dodge 807hp factory from dodge rarer than any demon or black ghost

One thing I always loved about the Mopar edition’s is all the Mopar branded parts all over the vehicles including the big Mopar emblem embroidered on the seats. I’m kinda disappointed the Mopar ‘23 don’t have them.

This package is highway robbery. For one, we are in the year 2024 and the 2024s come out typically in September of 2023. Dodge is still selling 2023s as if they are new 2024s. Do they think the consumers are complete idiots? These are all, year old cars and should have a minimum of a $5,000 rebate on them. Then, sell a 40,000 Scat Pack and throw in options no one ever needs and sell it for almost $70,000. Just unbelievable. Who in their right mind would be this Mopar edition? No one...that is why they didn't make too many of them. Even Dodge knows this is a hard sell. There just isn't enough mopar identity on it. It looks like a regular black Scat Pack. Pathetic waste of money.

Dodge need to be sued for saying all jailbreak 23 last call was all gonna be 797 but when ppl started getting them last Feb and March after you put the 500 mill on to "unlock it" 797 well didn't happen we all email Dodge never responded to anyone until they announced on thier home page " Sorry it was was typo, all the jailbreak below will be 700 to 717 the Redeye and up have the 797+" ohhhhh im still pissed on that one. And soooo much more Dodge as a company have done and what these Dealerships and mechanic shops and the dealerships are doing and it make me sick. These 23 hellcat are crap and made cheaply how Dodge released these hellcat from the 1st 2015 one have ALWAYS been trash. They should have never released sooo many hellcat year after year after year.🙄😑
