Only with my group we're drinking Schlitz Malt Liquor not wine, we're eating White Castles, not gourmet food. And we're playing Free Bird, not folk music. And there's usually a bong on the table and someone passed out in a lawn chair in the background. Other that that, same thing.
I saw him in Shanghai a couple of years back. It cost me a lot of money: the train to Shanghai, the hotel, the concert ticket, paying someone to look after the dog I fostered. As expected, his playing was remarkable. Unfortunately the venue security were bullies. Almost as bad was Yngwie's attitude: he totally chewed the lighting people out. He was so offensive he just came across as a mini-dictator. Really soured the evening for me. Saw Scott Henderson later -best gig I've ever been to. Frank Gambale and Pat Metheny -also awesome gigs. I'd love to see Yngwie again, in a better mood. Really want to see Eric Johnson.
