I like many artists that aren't native English speakers and it's cool to see them interpret their traditional music with electric/rock ethos, like Rammstein, Loudness, etc... when they sing in their Native tongue and blend styles old 'n new

On Swedish traditional music (as in many classical musical "motives" or "themes") I can smell the oldest traces of the original roots as a travell through lands that peoples did, like Russia, Caucasus, Greece anf Balcans with condiments of Gypsies there. It is nice, I mean really great to hear Yngwie play, just play, have fun with friends, smile and not put on a rock show. I have seen him live with the black leather pants (doing leg kicks) making that rock and roll pout face, tossing his guitar to his guitar catcher and all things 'Rock Show'. Worst of all is seeing interviews where he says mean, unflattering things about other world class pros. He is such a great player and I would like to see him smile or complement someone instead of insult them.

Only with my group we're drinking Schlitz Malt Liquor not wine, we're eating White Castles, not gourmet food. And we're playing Free Bird, not folk music. And there's usually a bong on the table and someone passed out in a lawn chair in the background. Other that that, same thing.

I saw him in Shanghai a couple of years back. It cost me a lot of money: the train to Shanghai, the hotel, the concert ticket, paying someone to look after the dog I fostered. As expected, his playing was remarkable. Unfortunately the venue security were bullies. Almost as bad was Yngwie's attitude: he totally chewed the lighting people out. He was so offensive he just came across as a mini-dictator. Really soured the evening for me. Saw Scott Henderson later -best gig I've ever been to. Frank Gambale and Pat Metheny -also awesome gigs. I'd love to see Yngwie again, in a better mood. Really want to see Eric Johnson.
