Thank you so much. I had a different job but this showed all the steps I needed.

Impressive. If I had to replace that gasket on my 2005 Malibu with the 3.5L V6, it would take me a week, rather than a few hours.

they make a tool for easily removing those pushrods without loosening bolts. Saved me about 30 minutes work it looks like.

Hello, I am sorry hear about your troubles. If the car is overheating let it could down and remove the air out of the cooling system. Pockets of air can cause your engine to overheat. Also, check that the radiators fan (s) are working. Keep me posted.

@@gqautodiagnostics after resealing the gasket on the intake manifold I noticed only only one fan was coming on….my $200 04 Malibu maxx that’s was leaking oil full of roaches n running hot is running pretty good…the fan still work it’s just a bad relay 🤷🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️….
      I changed:
      1.thermostat still got hot
2.oil filter adapter gasket and cleaned oil pressure sensor no more oil leaks, still got hot
      3. Transmission fluid n filter change kept original gasket cause it was good still went hot
      4. Took off the air manifold n resealed it n now it don’t rev hard when I cut it on n it cuts straight on but I after running it for 30 minutes it was trying to get hot then I noticed the fan n switched the relays to make sure it was the relay
