Really cool. I have been using an identical design of my own for years but with a smaller terrarium fogger. The one thing that consistently has sucked, is that type of humidity sensor. Condensation builds on it and inside it, leading to some wildly inaccurate readings over time. Near daily shaking/tapping out of any droplets is something that sorta works. Thankfully fungi have always been incredibly forgiving for me! Good luck with this product!
Ya, the sensors have their limitations. We find that they work and are accurate for much longer if you keep condensation at a minimum. Temp matters a lot, but in general, going over 90% humidity should be avoided.
Do you recommend cleaning the plastic walls as part of your maintenance plan? If so, can you describe how it would be done (especially with product on the shelves).
Thank you for the question! Yes, you should clean between each fruiting cycle, or more frequently if there is significant spore build up. To clean the vinyl tent, here's what we recommend: Use a damp cloth and mild cleanser. DO NOT use bleach or abrasives. After cleaning it can also be sanitized by spraying with a 70% isopropyl alcohol solution inside and out. If you have product on the shelves and it's not a full post fruiting cycle clean, just use the damp cloth with mild cleanser and not the alcohol solution.
That depends on the needs of the mushrooms you're growing and your other settings - you could start by leaving it running continuously and adjust from there 🙂
Any basic surge protector should work fine. Higher quality is better of course.

If I can't direct the outflow through a window, is there anyway to avoid humidity in my room, risking mold and problems in my living environment? Or if this isn't a problem, why not?
You could setup an external humidifier and air filter if you're very concerned. Otherwise, using one of the fan filters on both sides of the fan will filter enough out the air, ameliorating the issue.
I am going to order one of these the first of the month. Your website says PRE ORDER. can you tell me approximately how long i would have to wait after ordering it? One more thing, in this video, how are you growing the mushrooms? Meaning what type of grow kit so I know what to order? I am going to need help and advice LOL
How do you filter the incoming air for the negative pressure fae fan? I don't see any holes in the tent for filters. Why not use positive pressure and a filter at fan air inlet?
Incoming air is not filtered, this is correct. If cleaner air in the space is desired, an external air purifier is needed or another intake fan installed. That said, since anything going into the tent should be colonized, filtered air isn’t a requirement. We find that directing the spores through a filter minimizing the ejection of spores into a living space with no filtration is best. If you wish, the BoomRoom can definitely be modified for positive pressure!
I' m from sri lanka.our cuntry doesn' t have this lind of green houses in market..so I made by using wood..then I buy polythene to cover it..also I doesnt have enough money to get humidifier Can I use alternatives for it to control humidity..also can I use fan on my cpu..please give instructions
As with plants, the amazing thing about growing mushrooms is that it can be done 10,000 ways. Making your own fruiting room is awesome and not difficult if you have the principles down. Humidity is critical, but many folks out there don’t have humidifiers and high tech systems either, instead relying on the ambient humidity along with manual misting. It depends on which species you are growing. You can find the information on each product page, and each species will come with detailed instructions on where and how to cut the bag 🙂
Although a vertical fan works well in a monotub because it's a small space and That sounds good in theory , but not in a tent. first you should not have water collecting in your tent, the humidity is to high. Mushrooms do not need more than 75 80 percent humidity. 82-85 percent for certain compost lovers. Anyone telling you different is also probably dealing with contaminants they can't explain. Also the fan is meant to expell CO2 at the bottom and passive oxygen be allowed to come in from the top. A vertical fan just isn't necessary if your humidity is correct. So many people think that mushrooms need a swamp to grow in and it's just not the case, it actually causes dirty Aunt Tammy to swing through and sub par fruits with fuzzy feet or harboring bacteria. My first few years growing I thought they needed 90 percent humidity while I thought I was getting poor genetics. This company is world class!!! Everything they do, responses to questions, quality of products, packaging, all!!
Woah, thank you so much!! That means a lot!
oh yeah the timing is right, I am waiting on a few spore prints of a few culinary shroomies!

I know what I’m buying myself for Christmas 🎅
Same here
Just purchased. Can't wait to start growing.
Filming my set up on this this week! Super excited. I grow on logs but that is hit or miss for harvest. I'm excited to add year-round abundance.
Looking forward to seeing how it goes!!
yesss this video came at the perfect time!
Do you have any info on how effective the included air filters are?
They work very well for collecting spores, we've seen it many times! And they're pretty easy to clean and reuse.
Very nice. I just got the BoomrBin, im excited to enter this mycology hobby journey
Preordered one for July! CAN'T WAIT!
🙌
@@NorthSpore And it shipped TODAY! 2 1/2 weeks early! I'm a happy bear.😁

wow... seriously amazing!! would be great to be able to grow them ;]
What is the best fan, mister, humidity settings for dung-loving mushrooms?
We recommend: fan on very low or intermittent with a cycle timer (on for 1 minute and off for 10 is enough). Humidity should be 85-90% 👍
@@NorthSpore Thank you so much
How often should the FAE fan run? Should this stay on continuously?
That depends on the needs of the mushrooms you're growing and your other settings - you could start by leaving it running continuously and adjust from there 🙂
I just got one! Would like to know what type of surge protector will work best for the FAE fan.

Is it ok to put the humidifier and fan on opposite sites of the tent or must they be together on one side?
You can put them on opposite sides 🙂

In the video we're using the BoomRoom II Automated Martha Tent Mushroom Grow Kit, and these kits are now available and no longer on pre order!
My order was received two days ago
Is the rack system metal or plastic? Looks like a great home setup.
Thank you for the question! The rack system is metal with wire mesh racks.

Do you still need to mist if your humidity is in the 70s/80s??
Not unless your mushrooms seem dry

Any recommendations on a co2 meter?
We don't have a specific model that we recommend. I'd go with a well known brand, middle price point.
where is the best spot to cut the bag of block mushroom?
It depends on which species you are growing. You can find the information on each product page, and each species will come with detailed instructions on where and how to cut the bag 🙂
Is light is needed at night time?
No, just some ambient light from time to time will help 🙂
I heard Blue lights in specific stimulate colonization, fruiting, etc
Hey, do you ship in Europe?
Unfortunately, not at this time. But hopefully soon!
Do you guys ship to South Africa?
Unfortunately, we do not ship internationally at this time.
how do you control temp?
Thank you for the question! It’s recommended to place your tent in a temperature controlled environment.
Is light needed in night time? If it kept in dark environmemt it is cause for problmes?
So beautiful

I recommend that you install the exhaust fan in a vertical position, otherwise water may stagnate which would cause your fan to fail.

What kind of water do u out in the humidifier

@captainfalcon8302 it's way easier to clean up, and it should help your items last longer. Hard water is the devil, lol
