1:15 I had to miss the first Pokemon Go Fest in 2018 because I was working -- just a few blocks away from the event. I even had to drive right past it on Lake Shore Drive, seeing the huge crowds of people and was super jealous... Then learning the next day that I was spared the torture I felt so relieved I wasn't able to go!
I remember when legendary pokemon were found in breakthrough research. The gen 1 legendary birds, the gen 2 legendary birds, and I think even the Legendary beasts (Raikou, Entei, and Suicune). I remember finding a shiny Ho-oh from breakthrough research on my birthday one year. When I started playing pokemon go, I really didn't raid, so this was one of the only ways for me to get legendary pokemon. I adore the content! Keep up the awesome work and have a great day!!!
You forgot to mention the bottle necked raids when they got the bright idea to make the 2 new Ultra Beasts Northern and Southern Hemisphere. Since the vast majority of players are in the Northern hemisphere we can't equally invite ppl for Celesteela. Various remote groups are seeing 20k trainer waiting lines that can take an entire day and never get 1 raid. Took all day finally got into one only to see the "No Group Found" bug. While others get the "Walk Closer" bug... which if you look close is trying to take an orange or green pass instead of your remote.
They have several Pokemon that are regional exclusive, including previous regional raids such as the Lake Guardians. The recent Ultra Beast raids were not unique as such, but did highlight the population disparity between the two hemispheres.
I would also add EX raids to this list as well. At the very beginning Mewtwo was only obtain from EX raids only. To access it and to unlock the Mewtwo raid was hard to figure out since there was no way of knowing what gyms were ex gyms at the time. The other problem was that you get a group of people to just do a five-star raid and only a select few people will get the EX pass like it was a lottery system. Ex raids was bad I remember traveling to Boston a few years ago did a raid and a couple days later I got a pass for that gym. I wasn't able to go back to go do an EX raid since I live in an entirely different state.
Hey bud, I thought I would say, I never played GBL until the event last month. I got pretty deep into it to better understand it and only found out last week you could get legendary rewards. I got to level 18 last month, so far this month I am level 20. I have seen 12 pokemon at 20 and not a single legendary. I thought it was just catching up on rewards I didn't get at earlier levels but now you've explained the 4% thing I don't see the point anymore. If they want people like me who didn't like pvp to get into it why nerf the rewards? Think I'll go back to collecting
Rates are no longer 4%, that was just for Tapu Koko. After that it's been back to around 12-20%, and I got a bunch last season. Just hit rank 20 today, and only got one encounter. But the rates are higher than 4% now
What about 7 day weekly reward Pokemon getting deteriorated to non-shiny pokemons as compared to Legendaries, Lapras and other exciting pokemons that had shinies!
Add no. 7 to the list, leave a post up for nearly a week stating that Celesteela will be in the Northern Hemisphere for Raid Hour September 21st--and Kartana in the Southern--but instead of staying true to that, make a post saying that was a mistake and they "apologize" for the inconvenience. That happened TODAY!! Niantic continues to prove to be completely disconnected, probably intentionally so at this point.
Yeah that sucks. But then again I'm actually not missing that weekly bundle. The last 2 or 3 bundles only had 1 item each. The daily bundle is way better. They can just as well not bring that weekly bundle back if there's only going to be 1 item in it per week anyways. As long as they don't remove the remote raid passes, it should be ok. Then again, with the way Niantic is handling the game, I wouldn't be surprised if they did remove them at some point in the future. I mean, they are telling us to go out, explore, and connect with our "community".

They weened players off by starting with equal or greater value (3 super incubators), and progressively lowered the value of items in the boxes in the coming time to follow, before removing them completely. They tactically lowered our expectations. Personally, I enjoyed getting free premium items, and was annoyed every time I saw the 1 coin weekly box get worse and worse. Seeing as the free daily box is just a way to get people to open the game, and always non-premium items, it is not better. As to your second point, yes. I fully believe that they are slowly moving the game away from remote raiding. The problem is, they need to move the source of revenue from remote passes to something else they can sell. Ultimately, the more that they tweak and lower the expectations and game experience as result, the more I (and presumably some others) will be pushed away from the game. I don't care so much as not receiving a free 40 pokecoin incense, but rather the implications of the direction of the changes they are making to the game.

But the thing that completely nuked Pokémon go here were the spoofers. From when we had the Kanto Event up until a few weeks ago, a group of spoofers were taking over the gyms and preventing us from getting coins. Sure we could have bought coins, but these spoofers were active in our area for over a year. With the financial difficulties we had because of Covid, we couldn't buy coins so we needed those gym coins, which we couldn't get because of the spoofers. Basically everyone quit the game, leaving me alone. The players here sometimes, and I really mean sometimes, checked to see those spoofers were still here, but that was very rarely. So, this year I created a second account, used what coins I had left to change teams. This means I have a Team Instinct main account, and a Team Mystic second account. I did this so that I could kick out those spoofers. I think it worked since I haven't seen them in a while, but it might be to late. I doubt the others will start with the game again. Because of this I'm highly relying on remote raids for legendary Pokémon. I could get them from pvp, but the chances for that are extremely low, almost at 0. So if remote raids and passes go, I'm gone as well. And I think many rural players will do that as well. With the incense being nerfed, the community day events being 3 hours plus a whole lot of other issues, I think this game is dying. With the community "day" event for example, I wouldn't call it a "day" event since it's ony 3 hours now. If it lasted 6 or 12 hours then I'd call it a day event.
They should definitely increase the legendary chances in pvp if we're not getting 1 free remote raid pass or getting them in breakthroughs cause otherwise theirs no point in playing pvp
The OG distance from the pokemon was super cool, but ended up wrecking the servers and couldn't handle the load of the player base. I wish there was a 3rd tab for pokemon that *aren't* near a PokeStop that use that old distance mechanism, between the current nearby tab and raid tab.
I wish we could get a 100 dollars of poke coins for the amount of remote raids that get screwed up whenever they forget to turn on the shiny switch in other parts of the world. also: Niantic sees this and tweets we'll recompensate you with 3 free remote raid passes in the bundle shop sorry for the inconvenience. like 3 free remotes will make up for all that. I mean 5 free daily raid passes for that particular raid day so you have 5 chances for the shiny till you have to actually to spend on PokeCoins also if you include this seasons 2 free daily raid passes. but it wouldn't hurt because it'd be saving people a lot of money to make up for the past shenanigans like Druddgon......... remember that yeah.....
It sucks to get a Legendary in GBL when your on a winning streak, all of the sudden you have to throw a million balls on something you dont want. Just make it a guaranteed catch
That only happens if a Raid Boss like Shinx, Latios, Galarian Weezing or Heracross is shiny upon defeating that Raid Boss or if a certain Shadow Pokemon abandoned by a Go Rocket Leader was shiny.
They definitely need to reduce prices of remote raid passes. Maybe have it so that a player gets at least one free remote pass per month? I don’t know, but the current price is super unbalanced in places where there’s barely any gyms so nobody will be able to knock your Pokémon out. I had a Staraptor in a gym for 2 weeks, yet I still got the same amount of coins as I did with my Blastoise who only lasted a day.

What about the fact they haven't changed team rocket since the rocket battle weekend. So everything that was supposed to be limited to that time has just been getting extended for months
Their biggest mistakes imo so far: 1. Putting Zacian as fairy only and Zamazenta as fighting only; they’re steel as well! 2. Not letting the Rocket grunts use any protect shields 3. Only including Rocket as their villains. Where’s team Magma? Aqua? Plasma? Galactic? Skull? Wait, Skull aren’t really villains… 4. Randomly spawning Jigglypuffs around me. I ABSOLUTELY HATE JIGGLYPUFF! 5. Not letting players dodge in trainer battles. Though, that could be intended. 6. Including Drilbur and Nosepass in the current steel type event. I get that their evolutions become steel but it’s no excuse! Onix gets a pass since Steelix can mega evolve. Still, a wonderful and underrated game. I gotta thank them for the ancient event last June, because I absolutely LOVE Aerodactyl and got at least 15 during that event. I now have 55 of them and am unwilling to transfer any.

there are only two reasons that I do go battle league and that is because of the stardust and the legendary pokemon but they made it so difficult to get a legendary that I don't even think that I will ever get one from gbl
i just started playing again since 2016(i was level 9) now level 31 1/2, and every video I watch just makes me mad and frustrated, I feel like I'm at such a disadvantage to everyone else that stated yrs before and no matter how fast I level up(went from lv 9 to 31 in 1 month) I feel like I'm just getting gipped out of stardust, shiny encounters, legendary encounters, raid passes etc from the once nice asf daily box, and its just crazy discouraging... idk wtf to do tbh.

I was at Dortmund for the second Go fest, got there late after I overslept and missed the first train from Frankfurt. Best decision I ever made because I got there after they expanded it from the park to the whole city as well as after they fixed the incense glitch.
I don't know if it's just me but it seems like it's impossible to win in go battle league and impossible to encounter legendary pokemon I really enjoyed go battle league but now it doesn't feel like it's worth my time
While I'm not upset about legendary Pokemon in research. I do hate that they changed the remote raid passes. And took away the weekly box and adventure box.

Okay, I think the biggest mistake Niantic still does is updates for new Pokémon (and I’ll explain why). When they released togedemaru recently I did the research and caught a 3 star one. That was the only Pokémon in the update, it didn’t evolve and I already had a good one so I stopped playing for a while. Same with dedenne. When it came to grubbin, I just farmed grubbin candies and then had nothing to do. They should release multiple Pokémon at a time so people keep playing, like when they do region launches.
It’s absolute bullshit that they nerfed the GBL at all Getting to rank 20 is a rather hard challenge and then we’re limited to maybe 5 different raid Legendarys cause seasons are limited and then you have to grind all over again The stardust is good for a bit of stardust if you really need it early-mid game which is a problem
And to think that I was pissed about the necessity of the switch online subscription for trading in the switch pokemon games. The phone game sounds dreadful!
i wish they would balance out the gbl. By switching to a cooldown timer system to prevent attack stacking would help end some of the frustration from spammy moves. Introducing a casual mode that locks in random picks to give the meta games a huge metaphorical middle finger would be fitting. Just tired of seeing the same variations of the same picks and getting hard countered when I try to use counters myself. Keep it random completely.
I tried posting a reddit complaint about the go battle leauge raid boss on sliph and sliph deleted the thread after a week. and it got heavily downvoted. So I wasn't seeing things. On battle go leauge the wining percentage is 50% before 2017 it was about 70-90% This made me stop playing.
What I don't understand right now is that ever since the newest gbl cycle activated not only have the legendary encounters dropped pitifully but also the bundle pack for premium raid passes is pathetic. 1900 pokecoins a pack with only two premium raid passes?! Niantic is forcing raid boss grinders to pay heavily now, and using a pass in gbl is now a literal scam with a single digit encounter rate for a legendary. Is Niantic not making enough money off of us?
Definitely makes sense for comm days to be nore inspired for pvp. 1. Pokémon as a whole was always trading and battling as a friend. So getting a battle move brings you closer to the core of the game then just collecting. 2. Pokémon already have for strong moves for raids. Limited battle inspired moves isn't new to Pokémon. They have been doing it since gen 1 or 2. It was never a mechanic fors collecters but someone who battles. 3. Raids in Pokémon go arent techincal. Very straight forward, raids in main Pokémon games are just about numbers and power. Also tech moves, something that Pokémon go raids completely miss, so it makes no point to make a comm day more for raids. But they have found a way to insert it tech moves into pvp. Therfore comm days should mainly be about pvp. 2020 was much better then year 2019... if anything anything that wasnt good for pvp before 2020 was a mistake.
What I miss the most is regular Giovanni. I don't actually miss it because I never experienced. Came back when Latias was on. Now it was Latios. It's been almost a year, what the fuck Niantic.

The legend rates where a lot better last year, I couldn’t stop getting Cresselia from PvP...it was about 50% encounter rate...

What about the community day 30 free ultra balls as well as the 1 Pokécoin bundle on Monday they took those away with out any mention.

Last season I was getting raid Pokemon from GBL almost every other reward but now I've done 20 mystery Pokemon and nothing

What about the fact they haven't changed team rocket since the rocket battle weekend. So everything that was supposed to be limited to that time has just been getting extended for months

Their biggest mistakes imo so far:
1. Putting Zacian as fairy only and Zamazenta as fighting only; they’re steel as well!
2. Not letting the Rocket grunts use any protect shields
3. Only including Rocket as their villains. Where’s team Magma? Aqua? Plasma? Galactic? Skull? Wait, Skull aren’t really villains…
4. Randomly spawning Jigglypuffs around me. I ABSOLUTELY HATE JIGGLYPUFF!
5. Not letting players dodge in trainer battles. Though, that could be intended.
6. Including Drilbur and Nosepass in the current steel type event. I get that their evolutions become steel but it’s no excuse! Onix gets a pass since Steelix can mega evolve.
Still, a wonderful and underrated game. I gotta thank them for the ancient event last June, because I absolutely LOVE Aerodactyl and got at least 15 during that event. I now have 55 of them and am unwilling to transfer any.

there are only two reasons that I do go battle league and that is because of the stardust and the legendary pokemon but they made it so difficult to get a legendary that I don't even think that I will ever get one from gbl
The community days are only okay if you go to a park in my opinion. I once got 13 bellsprout shinies in a park.

i just started playing again since 2016(i was level 9) now level 31 1/2, and every video I watch just makes me mad and frustrated, I feel like I'm at such a disadvantage to everyone else that stated yrs before and no matter how fast I level up(went from lv 9 to 31 in 1 month) I feel like I'm just getting gipped out of stardust, shiny encounters, legendary encounters, raid passes etc from the once nice asf daily box, and its just crazy discouraging... idk wtf to do tbh.

I was at Dortmund for the second Go fest, got there late after I overslept and missed the first train from Frankfurt. Best decision I ever made because I got there after they expanded it from the park to the whole city as well as after they fixed the incense glitch.
and why does it cost more to get the 5200 coin bundle then if you were to get the 100 coins, 52 times? Shouldn't it be cheaper if you buy in bulk?

I don't know if it's just me but it seems like it's impossible to win in go battle league and impossible to encounter legendary pokemon I really enjoyed go battle league but now it doesn't feel like it's worth my time
While I'm not upset about legendary Pokemon in research. I do hate that they changed the remote raid passes. And took away the weekly box and adventure box.

Okay, I think the biggest mistake Niantic still does is updates for new Pokémon (and I’ll explain why). When they released togedemaru recently I did the research and caught a 3 star one. That was the only Pokémon in the update, it didn’t evolve and I already had a good one so I stopped playing for a while. Same with dedenne. When it came to grubbin, I just farmed grubbin candies and then had nothing to do. They should release multiple Pokémon at a time so people keep playing, like when they do region launches.
It’s absolute bullshit that they nerfed the GBL at all
Getting to rank 20 is a rather hard challenge and then we’re limited to maybe 5 different raid Legendarys cause seasons are limited and then you have to grind all over again
The stardust is good for a bit of stardust if you really need it early-mid game which is a problem

And to think that I was pissed about the necessity of the switch online subscription for trading in the switch pokemon games. The phone game sounds dreadful!
i wish they would balance out the gbl. By switching to a cooldown timer system to prevent attack stacking would help end some of the frustration from spammy moves. Introducing a casual mode that locks in random picks to give the meta games a huge metaphorical middle finger would be fitting. Just tired of seeing the same variations of the same picks and getting hard countered when I try to use counters myself. Keep it random completely.

I tried posting a reddit complaint about the go battle leauge raid boss on sliph and sliph deleted the thread after a week. and it got heavily downvoted. So I wasn't seeing things.
On battle go leauge the wining percentage is 50% before 2017 it was about 70-90% This made me stop playing.
Imagine a legendary Pokémon having a com day that would be impossible but hilarious 🤣

What I don't understand right now is that ever since the newest gbl cycle activated not only have the legendary encounters dropped pitifully but also the bundle pack for premium raid passes is pathetic. 1900 pokecoins a pack with only two premium raid passes?! Niantic is forcing raid boss grinders to pay heavily now, and using a pass in gbl is now a literal scam with a single digit encounter rate for a legendary. Is Niantic not making enough money off of us?

Definitely makes sense for comm days to be nore inspired for pvp.
1. Pokémon as a whole was always trading and battling as a friend. So getting a battle move brings you closer to the core of the game then just collecting.
2. Pokémon already have for strong moves for raids. Limited battle inspired moves isn't new to Pokémon. They have been doing it since gen 1 or 2. It was never a mechanic fors collecters but someone who battles.
3. Raids in Pokémon go arent techincal. Very straight forward, raids in main Pokémon games are just about numbers and power. Also tech moves, something that Pokémon go raids completely miss, so it makes no point to make a comm day more for raids. But they have found a way to insert it tech moves into pvp. Therfore comm days should mainly be about pvp. 2020 was much better then year 2019... if anything anything that wasnt good for pvp before 2020 was a mistake.
