Thanks for this message!! Comments and questions help give me ideas on what other videos to film! I think I will film a clip for this - thanks! Find the thickest jump ring that can go through the chain link if you're working with thin chains. The easiest to weld is 22ga and 24ga - at 6-7w power. 26ga or thinner is trickier, but I've just filmed a hack - I'll post it because it is difficult to describe. Please subscribe, if you haven't done so already - I'm going to try to film something each week based on the questions I get asked. Maybe you'll find some others useful.
What kind of pliers are you using ? Also which do you like to cut with ? I feel like my cutter pliers are not making a smooth cut .. maybe a little diagonal cut.
Hakko makes good cutters - they either make them in Italy or the USA. THey're inexpensive and excellent value. We wholesale them ($13). Likewise, you want spring loaded jewelry pliers that are not heavy. We sell them for $13.50.
Hi there, I’d like to weld white gold bracelets - what material would you recommend I use for jump rings that would be durable and match the white gold? Thanks!!
THere are white gold jump rings, although I don't carry any. White gold still tarnishes (yellows) over time, although it doesn't go black with silver blackener, like silver does. If you do not have access to white gold, I would certainly use sterling silver jump rings. Also, there isn't anything wrong with doing two tone (yellow gold jump ring ) and make it an accent for the bracelet.
Hi! Love your videos :) How do you go about choosing the right size jumprings? Also, what's your best hack or video to minimize blowing one?
