Just another video with very minimal editing because I've GOT TO GET SOME THOUGHTS OUT, lol.
Who is better in the next couple years, Lakers or Mavericks??
According to one of ur greatest players of all time videos u believe mj is the goat ryt if lebron wins a another chip where he ain’t fmvp will u consider lebron the goat with no debate
@@epicone1086would you? Like why would that push LeBron over MJ for you?
lakers easy, idc look at the rosters luka won with
when lebron leave the lakers but till then the mavs
At this point, who cares?
This is like Philli trading away A.I. in his prime because of practice.
Anthony doesn't deserve to be boo'ed. He didn't ask for the trade. If Dallas wants to boo anyone, boo the front office.
As KD said - players are held to a different loyalty standards that teams/front offices. And I agree - FO should be the ones blamed here for this
Although I agree, you're gonna have A LOT of very upset fans in the stadium, and the front office doesn't play on the court, so I wouldn't be surprised if they lashed out at the player who was connected to it. IF they treat AD graciously, I'll gain respect for Mavs fans... but we'll see.
I'm hoping for "f--k Nico Harrison" and "f--k Miriam Adelson" chants throughout
@@jonnyarnett fans might just not even show up
We mavs fans are a decent reasonable ppl
Mavs fans booing AD would just be pathetic, even though I can see it happening. AD didnt ask for this trade.
Nico Harrison better not show his face 🤣
Yeah taking it out on AD is wrong its not his fault. I dont mind chanting about Luka but AD did nothing wrong after all
AD is cheeks, I hope they do boo him. Luka is poised to be the best NBA player for the next 10 years.
I disagree on the Luka take, but that's just my opinion.
However, AD cheeks? That's just blatantly false. You clearly are a casual if you think that.
...And either ways, it doesn't in any way change my argument about AD not deserving boos because he didn't ask for this.
Boooooooo
This only means 2 things:
1. Mavs owner is smoking crack
2. Silver has his hands in this for ratings
I thought crack was illegal in Texas
It's illegal everywhere!@@nobodybelievesunderscores4122
Add another one: 3 Luka may be the next Embid or Kwahi
3. Luka has bigger issues then we know.
Mavs are trying to win now and they have AD, Kyrie, Klay and their centres.
I thought Nuggets have the most boneheaded front office for overpaying Jamal Murray and Porter. But this... that's legendary level of actually crazy.
They already won, so it doesn’t matter. This though….this is dumb
The Nuggets made the opposite choice with the treatment of their main players, funnily enough. But with the Mavs it's about Luka, it's basically Jokic-stuff.
And to think that they had outnumbered the Suns hard in the 2018 draft with Luka!
Adam Silver
omg the 24/7 coverage of the Lakers is never gonna stop

As a Lakers fan, I'm concerned that Dallas threw away their 25 year old, all-nba player who just went to the finals
Mark ✡️ Cuban didn’t want to sign that super max contract. He just saved $120 million for shark tank shenanigans and another mansion.

I heard a theory on a podcast that Dallas GM was just trying to piss off the Dallas fan base so much that he "has" to move the team to Vegas.
Sounds about as logical as any other theory why he'd do it, lol!
Same but Vegas & Seattle are getting their own teams no need to relocate big market Dallas.
Yeah get rid of Charlotte instead
Miriam adelson is the owner and is a scary casino owner. Makes snese
this is not a theory bro, this is the faith of the SuperSonics and it's repeating all over again with you folks...Iam so sorry for yall...
That is interesting. The new owners and big time casino money people right?
If any old head still believe in "loyalty" this trade absolutely killed it
Not only did they betrayed Luka they also fleeced him by not giving him 350 mil
Why should Dallas be loyal to a player who has ran off other teammates, can't play defense and refuses to get his weight under control?
They are basically doing what the Pelicans should do with Zion's big ass. AD fits the team better overall than Luka. It actually is a trade that old heads can get behind because that means Dallas is a more well-rounded team than constantly having to cater to their overweight all star
@@crater044 duh because he brought the team to the finals ?? also because he brought millions of dollars and fans after the dirk era.. Luka isnt jsut a player he is the face of dallas mavericks.. he is a multibillion dollar icon in the making.. and dallas fumbled that..

i dont think there is a single player now that will even remotely think of trusting mavs.
Yeah AD low key had to play hard juss to lose righteously at the end of the day. Cuz he would be blamed no matter what. It's sucks to play with lebron james.
@@nikki-op4xjhow does that make sense why would Dallas let Derrick Lively leave
No, they replaced LeBron with him. The team is now his not LeBron.
@@KaieteurClaxmore like LeBron Blames
Luka is the reason they beat the clippers, the OKC thunder, and the Minnesota timberwolves and led them to the finals. Without Luka, they don't make it that far. In fact, as a former mavs fan, they have dropped from the 3 seed to the 11 seed without Luka. Do they even make the play in? Well see. All AD does is help fill in t spot for Lively. The mavs no longer have the Luka magic playmaking that has led them for 6 years. Its been hard af to watch them play without Luka cause the offense sucks. This is a dumb move and the betrayal is why today im a former mavs fan.
wrong
This is a case, where even if Dallas wins a chip, they lost the trade. They gave up their franchise, the guy that made people care about the mavericks. They broke their fans' hearts. They can't come back from this.
100% on point. As a Mavs fan for life, I’m now officially done. Even if they win a championship, which they won’t. Forget booing Nico. You won’t catch me at a game ever again. I’ve been a season ticket holder in the past. You couldn’t pay me to go a game now. This is like trading Dirk in his mid 20’s because of his defensive play
Maybe that's the plan. New owners are desperate for a casino inside the arena and might not get it in Texas so are tanking fan interest on purpose to make a relocation to Vegas look "better" for the team.
I could guarantee they won’t even make it to the Finals again.
@@RobertHunt-m6hoh man 😮 glad I’m not a Dallas fan. Imagine most of the city feels that way and in that case it’s TERRIBLE for business
Sad to see this done to Dallas, to the Mavs and to Luka, and to AD too in a way (unless the team regroups, it's still a good team, if they don't lose morale, especially Kyrie).
I love your take on team loyalty. Teams can no longer expect players to be loyal to any franchise after a move like this. As a huge Luka fan, I know winning is important, but if we’re going to become crackhead-level desperate for a finals push, then I think players have the right to protect their own interest as well. Unfortunately, I do believe moves like this are very unhealthy for the league as a whole. Luka might have conditioning issues, but for someone with as many playoff wins that he has at only 25? I have to wonder what else is going on that isn’t being shared. Very sad to see a player like this traded before his prime years.
Thank you Steph and Dray
But when have players been loyal in this era of player empowerment? They've only been loyal to the next big paycheck. Do I think it's messed up? Absolutely. But at the end of the day Luka is an investment, and he's not doing his part in keep his value up by coming in overweight every season. It's a great short term move for the team, that leaves them open to a long rebuild afterwards. The pelicans should take note and get rid of Zion before they end up like the Suns getting nothing from Ayton.
@@strmshadow8411 It’s definitely on the franchise’s that bet on potential over actual results. Luka is one of the few young players that have actually proved their value at every level he’s played at so the example the NBA is setting is just wrong. Are players less loyal in this era? Yes. Is most of that fault on the franchise overpaying them before they prove anything? YES! This move is not telling players around the league to step it up before they get traded. It’s telling them to keep their cards close to their chest. Especially for such a young MEGA talent 🤦🏾♂️
@@strmshadow8411 Also, you’re doing some special kind of drugs if you think Luka hasn’t held up his end of the bargain. 2 conference finals appearances and a finals appearance isn’t enough to outweigh some conditioning issues for a 25 year old? They could have quite literally gave Boston a real run for their money last year if Kyrie wasn’t in a straitjacket every time he stepped foot in Boston and that’s one of my favorite all time players. Safe to say he let Luka down in multiple instances.
@@Schoflixx But what has Luka proved? He's fantastic in the regular season, yes. His stat's come from his high usage, he's already having issues with his weight and if his injuries/weight are affecting his knees it would be good to move on from him before they become a serious problem. At no time in his career has he shown to be a disciplined player, he's kinda just settled into the NBA lifestyle of put up numbers and get paid.
Could this be an overreaction? Very highly, but I don't think his playstyle is a winning formula, even Lebron needed a superteam and played at least above average defense.
And for the last part, what cards? The players play is their cards. Just like Miami, it seems like the Mavs are saying if you want that Supermax you better be disciplined, play hard and at least look like you can win a chip.
Does current Luka look like someone you can win with while tying 60-70mil a year to on a decent team?
this made the Jerry Jones negotiations in Dallas seem reasonable
as soon as I heard they got him without giving up Reaves my first thought was they must know for sure bron is retiring within 1 or two years or he's getting traded soon, either way as a lakers fan I haven't been this optimistic about lakers future for a long long time
The way Luka single handed decimated the west on his way too the finals im a Celtic fan but Luka is the truth especially when he’s mad 💯
He’s never won anything! And the Celtics exposed him big time.
@@jasonparker2545he had a bum knee throughout the playoffs and still torched the best defense in the league in Minnesota. Also your logic makes no sense because otherwise only 5 players in the NBA can say they won something... LeBron, Giannis, Steph, Kawhi, and Jokic (not counting KD since he jumped to GS). That means you're slandering other guys that have made the finals to only come up short: Karl Malone, Barkley, Ewing, CP3, Russ, etc. it doesn't matter. Luka is legit
Luka could walk in free agency at end next season so not win for lakers yet until he signs contract. My guess is he walks and joins Nuggets with Joker.
Jonny you didnt sleep much hum?! 😂👌🏾👊🏾
I can hear the shock in ur voice Jonny 😭
I don’t think (hope) that Mavs fans will boo AD. Unless there’s something we don’t know, it’s all on the Mavs and Lakers GM. They should announce Nico on 8 Feb just this one time 😅 “… and please everybody stand up and welcome our GM Niiiiiiiicoooooo Haaaaarrison!!!”
Remember folks, the NBA has profit sharing and those ratings were TANKING
There's no award for loyalty
Only the GoaT title.
There's no award for stupidity either, but that didn't stop this trade.
There is something much more important, which is people's respect.
The NBA is losing its audience in record numbers for a lot of different reasons, but the fact that loyalty is now a thing of the past is definitely one of them.
Anyway Luka absolutely wanted to stay in Dallas, and its beyond wild to see that it didn't matter. It was one thing to see stars switch teams just like that, but we have entered a new era where the teams are not grateful to loyal players. It only goes even more downhill from here.
@@penkima4923 Lol, stop
@@Yeagerbomb77 American audience, the NBA has more appeal worldwide. Every time you NPCs bring up ratings people like you are never objective and only look at one aspect, you gullible simpleton one track minded ignoramus' need to knock it off with that loyalty talk it's getting old and really shows how detached you people are. Players are obligated to be loyal but y'all don't have the same energy for these organizations that would trade these players in a heart beat and wonder why players get to make the decisions they do, the reality is that at the end of the day the NBA is a business and business has no loyalty. Why should a superstar player be loyal to a team that can't build a winning culture? Players like Jordan, Duncan, Kobe are exceptions to the rule and you can't hold other players to that standard cause things play out completely different than what you like to believe. You people need to use your common sense and not your emotions.
As a Lakers fan I hate the trade. Obviously bad in the short term but I also don’t trust Luka or their knees in the long run. Luka basically reminds me of 2003/2004 Shaq. All the talent in the world to be an all time great offensive player but poor conditioning will limit his prime to 30 at best.
Luka's prime ended at 24 years old.
Loyalty was always an organizational propaganda to keep good players on bad teams. I have no issues with guys who go onto other teams. I just hate when they sign a max contract and then demand a trade immediately to get the bag and get to the preferred location. I think Adam silver needs to step in and force new rules with contracts in general where there's no such thing as "no trade clause" and there's no guaranteed money if you miss games or demand a trade. There should be penalties for the player or organization who demands to trade players rather than playing through their contracts
This. Punish both sides..
I agree. Max contracts should only apply to the team that it is signed on. Much like a regular job, your boss is not keeping you on if they find a better alternative so there is no point in staying there if you find a better alternative.
It isn’t the players doing this. You have Zion as the only example. Organizations do this, that’s why this problem exists
Wb James Harden then?
Both seem blindsided. Where is the money? This reeks of under the table deal.
Ratings move like MLB, build up the two biggest market teams. Knicks and Lakers.
Toronto comparisons are inaccurate. Demar proved time and time again he can't give Toronto championship while Luke is basically stripped from the opportunity to try. Kawhi was also undoubtfully the better player while I would argue Luka more valuable player overall than Davis. What is nonsense to me is that they panic because of Luka conditioning and bet their money on a player who is one of the most injury prone in the whole league.
I don't know if I can agree if Luka is more valuable, at least when you take out age and injury history. Luka plays one way while Davis is slightly lower offensively he far outpaces him on the defensive side. But AD being so injury prone and older, hopefully the Mavs have a plan for the future.
Davis has been relatively healthy the last two years. Yeah he gets little injuries still, but it's nothing like previously where he was named street clothes. Value is arguable other than sentimentally. Davis gives the defense a mega boost and offensively IMO Lebron always kind of held him back a bit, whenever Lebron doesn't have his numbers
@corneliusMagnus - 💯
This is not at all like The Raptors trade for Kawahi.
I think your right that the mavs management was sick of Luka always being “overweight” and putting more injury risk on himself
Kyrie and AD are gonna be nice together
That's going to be important, as they will be spending a lot of time on the bench together injured, with Klay.
Doncic and Kyrie were already nice together.....
@@JonHop1 not defensively
@@imperialbengal4068 Bro the NBA is an offensive league.. They made it to the Finals last year with ZERO defense... Sure its nice to have defense, but their offense is now worse, and so is their team chemistry. Not to mention, Davis is old.. Doncic has his injury issues, but he's only 25... Davis picks up nagging injuries all the time. And at his size, he is one ankle or knee injury away from his career being over. I mean just look at Embiid. Embiid is way younger and cannot stay on the court at all.
@@JonHop1 it was a fluke they made the Finals and they got bounced in 5 games…
Even if they wanted AD specifically opening up talks with everyone would’ve forced the lakers to give up more picks

I agree with johnny. With a "healthy" AD dallas have the best interior defence in the league. They are primed to win nba this year or the next 1 or 2. They have mortgaged their future to win now. Whether they win or not is a different story though. Still, losing luka has to sting MASSIVELY
The fact that the Lakers kept their generational talent, Bronny, and got Luka as his running mate is insane. They’ll dominate the league like Kareem and Magic

The video has just started, but did you post a video before going to sleep and then wakeup just to make another video? Respect.
I hope AD doesn't get booed. He doesn't deserve that.
I think the Mavs will be better in the short term - if they can stay healthy. There's always the chance Luka could've forced this trade quietly. He's got one year left on his contract and they could've lost him in free agency next season.
LA's defense will have plenty of holes come playoff time. This is bad for Lebron. LA is definitely about the future - they're not trying to win now. Luka is for sure the best player there now. What will really be bad is if LA doesn't ante up and he leaves.
People are really acting like Anthony Davis isn’t arguably top 3 in the league. AD is a 7 foot 3 level scorer defensive player of the year candidate every season! Put some respect on that man’s name!
Exactly plus he can't even shoot 3s! He's good in the paint also
As a Dallas native, this is the worst trade in sports history. I can’t believe it still. They took a huge L in this trade. I hate Nico Harrison. He’s now public enemy #1. Lakers future is set. I hate the Lakers. Congrats to the most spoiled fanbase in basketball history.
Not a Mavs fan, but this trade isn’t really all that terrible. Mavs already had 2 ball dominant point guars and now Dallas has Kyrie, Klay, AD, Galford … a great, more balanced defensive starting five

ok, i know that's a bit obnoxious, but deal with it. i just seriously hope this trade blows up on the lakers.
Keep in mind that part of the reason why AD has a longer injury history is because he's been in the league longer and in the current season has spent less time injured than Luka, having essentially played twice as many games.
They better win it this year cause Kyrie is a free agent after this season and we've seen him turn down massive amounts of money to stand on principle, his good friend and star of the organization basically got backstabbed.
People are pretending like players are robots with set stats like its 2K, the entire Mavs roster is most likely fuming at this idiocy especially Kyrie and Klay (Klay literally came to the Mavs cause of Luka).
Good luck building up a chemistry between those guys with AD well enough for them to be championship contenders before Kyrie leaves.

I honestly think Anthony Davis is more valuable to both these teams. He was CARRYING that Lakers team in a way Luka wont be able to and the Mavs have Kyrie plus Klay getting back into form, now they have an all time big man to create space AND are much better defensively. I for the life of me cannot understand how ppl think this is a lobsided trade on the Lakers behalf…
If you listened to luka interviews it was clear dude had no intentions of having a long career, will be interested and wouldn’t be surprised to see if this just motivates doncic to be better and even have a longer career with a fresh start.
LA made this trade for the future. Lebron doesn't have much time left, AD is injury prone and is in his 30s, and Luka just led the Mvs to the Finals and has been all-NBA five times. I think the Lakers got the better of this deal because they just acquired one of the top 3 players on the planet for an outstanding player who is injury prone and in his 30s. Sure, AD is a damn good defender and is one of the best front court players in the NBA, but Dallas just gave up the mainstay of their franchise, an all-NBA player in Luka who is only 25! This move sets up the Lakers for the next 10 years! 💯
Love the kawhi comparison. The mavs are now more well balanced and just got even better defensively. This team is going to be scary
They have a shot. Toronto also got very lucky , the Kwai shot bounced and GS getting hurt
lol. yeah right. maybe for a year or two they can pretend.
No.
The Mavs are worse now. They had amazing team chemistry with Doncic. The Mavs are a solid team to build around any big name, but they are much worse now without Doncic. Davis is 31 years old, injury prone, and he struggles as the season goes on. He is fatiguing much faster now. I think AD has maybe 2 good years left max. Big men at his size dont usually make it to their mid 30's before becoming role players or bench warmers like Dwight Howard. And Howard was in better physical shape than Davis overall, the wear and tear on those big frames just takes a toll over the years. Docic is 25 years old in the absolute peak of his prime with many good years left.
@ Yup. And Luka brought Dallas to levels they shouldnt have been in. COnference finals, finals. Going toe to toe with Kawhi and PG. Cooking the Suns, Timberwolves, Clippers. His resume is alredy legendary. You get that kind of a player for a franchise maybe once in 50 years and they just threw it down the drain to trade it for a multiple time all star. Effin stupid.
I was waiting, I knew you'd come back with more 😂❤
I couldn't wait to hear from the 2 greatest Basketball minds about this trade. Jimmyhighroller and Mr Arnett
This was Dallas management and Pelinka flexing. Luka didn't want to get in shape and thought he had the Mavs in a chokehold. Short term it makes sense since AD had 2-3 more years as a peak guy.
Pelinka was weary of Bron's controlling ways and decided to bring in a young superstar to let him know he's no longer THE priority. Pretty standard in LA
Pelinka didn't have anything to do with this trade.
@@penkima4923thank you
"AD had 2-3 more years as a peak guy" - Your are blinded by last season...Just take a look at AD the last 3-4 years and say again he has 2-3 more years at the peak. That's delusional!
No it does not make sense for mavs short or long term. They didnt just shorten their championship window, they closed it. They are not winning shit without luka and they will be rebuilding in few years

Lakers need to make more moves that make this trade work. Again, they still don't have interior defense or a legit center. As for AD, he got his wish. He wanted to play the 4 with a legit center. Now he's playing with Gafford/Lively, who are solid centers. I've been trying to tell Mavs fans that they've won this trade in the short-term but they're emotional and don't want to hear none of that right now.

I had to check it for myself.. Wow is that all Jonny has? This I a rage
07:34 Silly take. Many team treat players like royalty transforming them into spoiled brats. Why is it too much to expect some integruty & dignity from a profesional?
Bang on. And glad you’re not afraid to bring up collusion. 💯
No collusion. Nico Harrison made an analytical decision by NOT giving Luka the Supermax deal. He protected the team's best financial interests. While Luka is a great hooper, why would any organization give $345 million to a 360-pounder whose weight continues to grow and whose health is deteriorating? Obviously, he doesn't take his health seriously and the Mavs organization wasn't comfortable signing him to a Supermax deal. Bad eating habits are hard to stop and the Mavs were tired of waiting.
The Mavs wanted defense and got their players. They are happy. The Mavs will be tough to play against in the playoffs.
Can't wait to see Luka in a 3XL yellow Laker jersey.
"if the Lakers get healthy" will return for a while in championship conversations involving the Lakeshow.

He did not deserve the way he just got treated and the way he just got talked about that dude is a warrior who poured his heart out on the floor for us every night and we all truly thought he was the next darkbut now that all of a sudden and done you hit the nail on the head. We better get a championship in the next two or three years or we are completely screwed. As for the Lakers, I am by no means of fan of you guys but y’all just got the keys to the kingdom. Luca is absolutely unreal and him in LA as a scary thought.
If this deal included at least two or three first-round picks I could understand but one first-round pick in 2029 when the Lakers will still almost certainly have one of the top two to three players in the world means it is almost certain to not be a lottery pick. That is terrible value. I do agree that they could end up winning a title and the next year or two but it is such a small window for a return on giving up one of this generation's most incredible players at the age of 25 for someone who will be 32 in one month.
I think Luka told the Mavs he didnt plan or want to be a Mav long term. If they knew he wasnt going to sign his upcoming extension then this makes way more sense.
0:55 I won't tolerate in Wemby slander.
Don't worry, Spurs are not so disfunctionnal as the mavs are...
@TheFrenchMan666huh? OP was referring to AD being called the 2nd best two way player in the game.
@ my bad. English limitation I guess ;)
As a Mavs fan I sincerely hope no one boos AD, ever. He definitely doesn’t deserve that.
“The Mavs are gonna be scary for the next few years.” As a lifelong Mavs fan who lives in Dallas I’ll tell you now that’s not the energy we have around here. We’re devastated. Anything short of a finals appearance this year is a failure after this trade.
Exactly. The Mavs were already scary and would be scary with Luka for many more years than just next few. Furthermore they could get even more scary with Luka maturing more as a player.
AD is always hurt. This is utter incompetence.
I'm a Mavs fan and I think you guys are over exaggerating Luka's importance to the team. You guys scrapped above .500 last year and are barely above it this year. We went on a miracle run in the playoffs then got our asses beat in the Finals when the Celtics defense locking Luka up and Luka having no answer or wanting to play defense.
AD provides the team with more options, better defense, less ball hogging, less stat chasing and a legitimate team dynamic. You have AD, Kyrie and Klay together with a pretty deep bench.......I think Mavs fans should stop complaining about losing one player, who has missed a lot of games this season and refuses to get his weight under control.
@ in our 45 years as a franchise, we’ve been to the conference title 6 times. Luka has 2 of those. In his short career he has achieved 1/3 of our best playoff results. I respect your options and insight, but I don’t believe we can over exaggerate his importance this team. More over I feel it sets a bad standard to the locker room. We’ve ALWAYS had trouble signing big time free agents. In my opinion this will make that harder, why come to Dallas when they might just trade you away in your prime without telling you.
@@drewtucker22 But the thing is, do you want the team to get better or sit in mediocracy like the Trail Blazers did until your star packs his bags? Let's call it what it is, Luka is a phenomenal talent, but he only goes one way. It's also easier to have crazy stats when you have the ball %90 of the time. Add that with him already starting to have constant injuries and dedication to getting and staying fit, and you're going to end up with an overpaid star to the tune of 70 mil a year that won't get you anywhere. It's been 8 years and he hasn't shown that he's willing to pull out all of the stops to win, although it's drastic maybe it was time to change it up.
There may be some hidden injury concerns with Luka that they aren’t revealing.
6:35 Terrible comparison. DeRozan wasn't a 5-time All-NBA First Teamer nor had he just led his team to the Finals. Everyone knew Kawhi was the better, more decorated player. This is the complete opposite. Luka is WAY more decorated, durable, and YOUNGER than AD.
Exactly what I came here to say. The comparison was bad.
Do you remember how uncertain Kawhi's conditioning was going into that season? He'd even said aloud a few times he might not play. He just wanted out of the Spurs BAD and didn't care where he'd end up.
What if he didn't lace up that year, at least enough times to win the chip? Now that we know more of the story about how badly his injury and surgery was handled, it's clear that was a very real possibility. Then he would have left at the end of the year like he did as a free agent, and the Raps would've given away their only start plus other assets literally for nothing.
Maybe after Luka’s recent injury, Luka hit the bottle HARD and gained a ton of weight.
If you are not staying in shape you are not being loyal to your team!
I hope they dont boo A.D
3:55 this has to stop ... LeBron is easily an above average defender ... in the olympics he was the best defender of the tournament ... this is all narrative
Yes also luka is around average too. Haters will be surprised when the Lakers are good as long as they get a center
Jonny, I just saw TheRealMindCrime cover this/your video. I loved your video. I just liked, commented and subscribed! Looking forward to your content!👏👏👏
There was some guy who was even blaming trump for the trade. Mavs fans are a wreck right now.
I think Luka had to be a problematic for the front office to the point where they couldn't keep him. Maybe that's why they shipped him out of nowhere for so little and the Lakers benefited from it.
The Lakers don't care what LeBron thinks about the trade. They got Luka. If lebron stays, he stays. If he leaves, he leaves. Makes no difference
All the people crying about Klutch mafia and LeGM are LeBron haters. If there's any collusion it's Adam Silver talking to Jeanie Buss and the new Mavs owner behind closed doors in addition to Harrison and Pelinka being good buddies.
@@CrazyxEnigma There's zero collusion in this trade. The Lakers are LeBron's team, and LeBron makes all the trades. Pelinka didn't have anything to do with this.
@@penkima4923 Lol no. If Klutch got wind of this it would've been leaked. As dumb as Pelinka has been he never leaks anything after Magic left and Woj retired, who Pelinka would use, the media has no idea what he's doing and spins whatever for clicks and views. This is the Lakers flexing on Klutch and it's been reported since the beginning of LeBron coming here people in the Lakers org don't like LeBron and Klutch having so much power. LeBron can either retire right now, ask for a trade or stay another season and make the Lakers a lot of money for a retirement tour like Kobe got it's a win win either way.
@@penkima4923 LeBron doesn't "make all the trades" you gullible chump.
If we’re talking basketball, on the court, it’s an F- for the Dallas Mavericks, worst trade in NBA history. Especially to do so in THE 3PT ERA ! Their championship window is now very short, with their two best players being 32years old.
If we’re talking doing the struggling NBA ratings a global favor, by pairing the biggest international 25yo star with the most storied franchise, (and banking heavy return favors from Adam Silver later) and intentionally tanking the team on purpose, to “have receipts of financial inviability”, to force an ultimatum to the Texas legislature to legalize gambling, and subsidize your Arena-Casino-Resort-complex to be built with public tax money, in Dallas (Adelsons have been trying to make this happen since they purchased the team from Marc Chabeniesky (Cuban) in 2023) ….. or else you’ll move the “hostage team” to Las Vegas, where you already own a giant Casino/Sportsbook business ? A very dirty, shameful C-
The fact that you think that the Lakers are rebuilding as a result of this move is an indictment against your basketball IQ… both Luka & Bron are computers on the basketball court and they are both 6’8+… that’s a winning formula, not a losing one
That's cool but who is going to play defense?
Not unless Pelinka makes more moves. The roster as it stands has only two good defenders DFS and Vando that's it.
The fact that you think that this could work is absurd! Lakers are basically telling James that hes not the main focus anymore, they arent tending to his needs as they did years ago by trading for AD.
6:55 that’s a completely different situation. Demar wasn’t a 25 yo perennial mvp candidate, they traded for something closer to Luka skill wise than they gave up. Not at all the same situation. They traded someone who never got past Lebron for a fmvp in his prime
I feel like this trade hurts every star involved on some level. Luka was finally in a situation where he could contend and get his supermax next season. Now he doesn't get his supermax and has to endure another rebuild. On top of that, he was disrespected and betrayed by the team he swore loyalty to. Lebron was in a losing position before, but this trade has sealed off any possibility of him winning in LA for the foreseeable future, somewhat forcing him to move to a different team or retire. AD is now in a better position to actually win, but he will receive more hate than he should from salty and disappointed Mavs fans, as if AD has any fault in this. On top of that, people are talking about the trade as if AD is some scrub, which I would feel pretty offended by if I was AD.
If AD and Kyrie stay healthy, the Mavs are actually dangerous contenders now. I somehow don't see the Lakers pulling off a decent rebuild. We'll see though, maybe they can get some stuff in return for Lebron
The Mavs were already dangerous contenders, they're easily a top 2 team in the west when they were healthy and imo obv #1 because they have OKC's number for whatever reason.
Last season you saw an injured Luka and a disappearing Kyrie in the finals with a team of terrible shooters, the terrible shooter part has been fixed Mavs could have EASILY ran it back but now with AD they have no chance.
@@DebasedAnon Yeah, I don't see it. The playoffs aren't like the regular season, Luka being a sieve on defense combined with his conditioning, means I don't see them winning against OKC or Boston. The Mavs are in a better place for the next few years, but after that is a toss up. While the Lakers might try to get rid of Lebron, because I just don't see how him and Luka can exist in the same space, especially with no bigs now.
@@strmshadow8411 They've already beaten OKC multiple times this season without their full lineup even being healthy...
"a sieve on defense" can you people stop pretending like hes the worst defender in the league? At the VERY WORST, most "I hate Luka" perspective hes above average, when the offensive load was taken off him (like right before his calf injury this season) he improved massively on defense and played off ball way more, its almost like its draining to try your hardest on both ends of the court when you're expected to single handedly drive the offense.
If Luka didn't have multiple injuries last season and Kyrie didn't choke completely the series would have been close, at worst it would have been Boston in 6.
They plugged the holes that were glaringly obvious vs Boston like the lack of roleplayers who can shoot and they were primed to run it back, a fully healthy Mavs this season was undefeated unless you count the Christmas game where Luka got injured halfway through...
Mavs are in a better position for the next few years? LMAO you're so delusional its painful, you think Kyrie will stick with an organization that mercilessly backstabbed his good friend and superstar of the team over petty bs? He's lost hundreds of millions standing up for his principles but now suddenly hes gonna become mr money hungry and ignore it yeah? Delusional.
The entire teams chemistry just took a massive hit, the roster is gonna be livid with what the Mavs pulled, Klay is gonna be incredibly pissed he came to the Mavs specifically TO PLAY WITH Luka.
The only way the "Mavs are in a better spot" is if they're so good this season they win it all, that's it, anything short of a very deep playoff run they can kiss Kyrie goodbye.
It definitely seems like people are talking about AD as if he is some scrub; but it sounds this way because we all know how great Doncic is.
Bud, compared to Doncic, who is 6 years younger, less injury prone, and a better fit on the Mavs, this trade makes ZERO sense. The Mavs do not need a big man. They made it to the Finals last year and their roster was setup perfectly for the playoffs. Now, you get AD, who, for the past 2 seasons, clearly gets worse as the season goes on and has struggled in the Post-Season. Davis is 31 years old. He is at the end of his career. Davis has maybe 2 more seasons max in him before he becomes a roll player off the bench.
I find it interesting that it took a player like Luka being “disrespected” to change peoples attitudes on whether an NBA player should be loyal to an organization even at his own detriment, but hey, I’m glad that we are getting there now
im not gonna lie, this whole trade has made me visit my opinion on player loyalty. MJ staying in Chicago basically his whole career was out of convenience, not for love of the city necessarily. Lebron leaving cleveland was because his front office was incompetent, so maybe i'd have to revisit the goat argument
Stop glazing
Cleveland built the team around lebalco and ended up with the best record in the NBA 🤦♂️
@@TaylorMade223what was the record when he left
Lmfao. Y’all will reach harder than Reed Richards for any reason to grant that fraud the goat title. 🤣🤣🤣🤡
@@mydogsnameislucy768 well, its a damn good thing morons like you don't get to decide who is and who isn't the GOAT. It's a subjective topic anyway, if i told you LeBron is the Goat you ain't gonna do nothing about it.
1. Luka fits with Lebron because Lebron is 40 and is better off if someone else can run the offense
2. If Dallas knows Luka won't sign an extension and is going to leave after next year anyway, it's not necessarily a bad long term decision for them
Mavs should be investigated. This reeks of collusion or some sort of shady under the table deals. If Mavs were set on trading Luka, why not auction him off to the rest of the league and get the biggest haul?
Because they wanted AD.. Not much to it
AD will never get booed by mavs fans. Regardless, You also said this wasn't a lop sided trade and then go into great detail on how it was a huge lop sided trade.
It isnt lop sided because the Lakers arent on a win mode like they were with LeBron while the Mavs are a better defensive team and could probably contend for about 2-3 years at the risk of losing their franchise player!
The secrecy and lack of warning leads me to believe that the Mavs were in a hurry to trade Luka. Why? The only possible reason that comes to my mind is that his injury might be worse than previously known and they were afraid it would become public and lower his trade value. As is, they got an all-NBA level player who's carried LeBron since his arrival. With the history of the Mavs front office in making quiet but effective moves, I would not laugh at them just yet.
Dallas just got out from underneath a 350 million guaranteed contract.. how's that Zion contract working out? Simmons? Embiid? PG? strictly business, as is my 9-5
I'm not a Dallas fan, I'm not an LA fan, I'm just an NBA fan, I like good basketball no matter who is playing it and I just hate how the Lakers can be such an awfully run franchise and still get the best outcome, their management is a joke and every couple of year the answer just falls into their laps. It's disgusting.
They have the ingredients to create an environment where stars want to be. Plus, they deserve good fortune after the league fucked them over for what seemed an entire 10 years by blocking the Chris Paul trade years ago. That was A fair trade where pretty much every team benefitted, yet the commissioner at the time vetoed it. Which turned cp3 Kobe and Howard into old man Nash Kobe and Howard lol . Leading to Kobe playing much more minutes than he was going to leading to his retirement etc the effects of that changed the league forever
How hard is it to stay in shape when you are making millions a year? It's your job dude. I wouldn't want to deal with the super-max situation either with an out of shape guy.
Mavs might learn the hard way there are some things more important than "win-now" rings and saving money (by basically screwing Luka of his supermax).
Even if they win, the franchise's reputation will not be salvageable.
Imagine if Cuban gave up on Dirk with all his failures?
Unthinkable.
?? This makes their team worse now...
Turns out the new Mavs owners forced this trade 😤
Watch Andy Hoops' and Jason Whitlock's latest video and spread the word!
Crazy how fast the Lakers dropped AD
AD breached their agreement by demanding a center. He knew that meant he was going to be traded away.
Come on, AD and Kyrie aren't good enough to lead to a championship. They need a superstar
Why would you comment on AD if you don't know who he is?
Fake league, fixed league
Collusion for sure. Include Silver in it too. Making sure Lakers has its top star after LeBron retires.
AD has been BALLIN this season and last year. People need to put some respect on his name. He is not a scrub. I do think Nico should have shopped Luka, but the Mavs don’t look that bad short term. Long term is a different story.
realistically luka is just going to leave after his contract expires. i doubt hes gonna stay with the lakers
I certainly hope he dosen't, fak the Fakers
Lebronze is like Darth Sidious... he's always on the lookout for a new apprentice, far more younger and more powerful lol 😅😂
You know what would be more cracked? If LeBron went to Phoinex for Devin Booker.
Why would the suns do that
@@npa2005The same reason they decided to trade for Beal. Aka it makes no sense
@@npa2005 Devin wants out. Beal isn't really "helping" and KD wants something new too.
Lots of people in the comments are slamming Jonny for comparing this to the Kawhi / DeMar trade. I think they're benefitting from a LOT of hindsight there...people forget how uncertain Kawhi was in 2018, plus the likelihood of him leaving at the end of a season he might not even lace up for. If he was the sure thing a lot of people in the comments are pretending he was, then trust me, it likely would not have been the Raps who landed him. The window was insanely short AND risky and they gave up their main guy and then some for it.
AD has been the best player on the lakers since 2020
I can’t believe this happened. Any player can be traded after all
