    Van Halen in their prime, hitting on all cylinders. The song sounds as great as it did on vinyl, possibly even better...Ed's guitar, DLR's voice...all crystal clear. M Anthony's bass thumpin' and harmonies clear as ever....and Alex's drums snappin' like a firecracker.

    No one will ever touch that original four. Ever. My heart is 50% happy and 50% broken when I watch this. Oh, man, do I ever wish every American kid had the chance to fall in love with a band this insanely talented and entertaining. Great artists will come and go, but the original VH was a once-in-a-lifetime collection of talent.

    • @ms.lisamurphy269
      @ms.lisamurphy269 Год назад +2

      So well said. I absolutely agree ..this was the genesis and iconic Van Halen...when this band fractured, it was the end. Yes ..VH going further more mainstream success with Sammy, but to the fans of those first 4 records? The new VH was a completely different type of band. DLR and Edward were the Lennon and McCartney of this genre of rock. Dave's personality literally spills off the records. His gritty dirty delivery, those brilliant ad libs.."one break ..coming uuuuuup'...genius. And EVH ..he just seemed more inspired working with Dave. I'm glad that DLR and Al and Ed ultimately did drift sweetly back together...and a friendship survived. To bad Micheal Anthony was somewhat...ok alot ostracized..but I totally understand EVH wanting to have his son on stage. I'm glad he didn't wait till he was older, because it may not have happened at all.
      Peace 🕊️🕊️

    I was an intern for MTV, in the studio (Unitel Studios, where the VJs and Director of On-Air Talent worked out of), in 1987. No pay but the best perk was dubbing all the videos you wanted from MTV's vast archive. I remember recording this video (among many), still with time stamp, on a VHS tape and taking it back to college. Then I watched it with some friends and couldn't believe what I was seeing: the perfect Van Halen moment -- one that I hadn't seen live on MTV. They are fighting trim, ferocious and hungry, in perfect synchronicity. The power and the glory. So glad this is available on RUclips whenever I need a dose of adrenaline and dopamine.

Some say Hendrix was the best, others say Clapton, others say Page or Gilmour or Beck. All awesome players! EVH is in the top 5 of most "best" rock guitarists polls that I have ever seen. Look at that 1981 audience, dam I miss that time. Rolling Stones just put out "Tattoo You", I was 19!!
    Now I am 59 and love the music of my generation. I saw Blondie in "82",she was a smoke show!!! She is 76 now..geez! Still pretty. Like the Stones sang" Time waits for NO one"...so if your young be drug free and enjoy your life.... The older you get, the older YOU get.
    This generation missed the amazing 70's and INCREDIBLE 80's. 😃👍

    They remind me of what was fun in the 80's. Going to a party with VH playing in the background. This is a moment in time that will never be replaced, I don't think there's been a rock band nearly as good. Fair Warning was my first VH record and I must've played it 1000 times. Way under rated by the critics, I think the whole band sounded amazing! I'm getting the remastered on cd.
