Same here! Vanripper has been one of the most inspiring artists for me for quite some time, since I started following him about 6 or 7 years ago. Somehow, I completely missed the fact that Helltaker was created by Vanripper. Couldn't help but constantly think that the art style of the game seemed oddly familiar while playing it, and THEN I saw the end credits. I recognized the characters from some, uhh, "fanart" I had seen prior to Steam randomly recommending it to me, so I decided to download and play it. It's honestly so well done, I'm really glad I checked it out. I'll basically play anything you release in the future.

I recognized the characters from some, uhh, "fanart" I had seen prior to Steam randomly recommending it to me, so I decided to download and play it. It's honestly so well done, I'm really glad I checked it out. I'll basically play anything you release in the future.

At this exact point, the skeleton man has a moment of self reflection, a moment where he doubts himself, thinking back to all the actions that led him to the release of the game. He knows the waifu potential of the characters, and wonders if releasing such a project will be the corect thing to do. As he stares into the monitor of his computer he sees all the work he's put into it, all the care, the final product. He calms himself as the screen shows the logo, and proudly says the name. He has made something incredible, whatever the outcome he can be happy with himself, that he has fulfilled something others couldn't: he has made a videogame and, whether the world likes it or not, he can say that he's proud of it.
