    Legend, first person to recommend the most useful method I've seen so far, Screen Sharing. Thank you!

    You are amazing! You taught me about the mac 🖥 native screen sharing and that is a brilliant idea! What’s funny is that I saw in your description list of a 4k virtual hdmi plug and I thought it had something to do with that! (Maybe we’ll get a bonus video on what you use that for 😉) totally did not expect the actual result. I do have extra cam links and ended up testing that out last out which worked well sending the screen into ecamm and then using universal control. But when you mentioned that you don’t have to have your computer open for this to work 🤯🤯 total game changer! Thanks again Alec ! This was great!

      Thanks India... I was sure I'd replied to this, but obviously not... maybe I'm getting confused with Discord!! Glad it was helpful though! 😊

    This is very useful Alec thank you. I think option three is a really good idea for Discord - I was trying to work out how I could put the live feed from Ecamm into Discord on another computer I hadn’t thought of using NDI. I note that you need a Ecamm running on both computers.
    As a suggestion, if I may please sir… it might be useful Alec to do a video specifically on this just for Discord users and go through it step by step in more detail so we can understand this more thoroughly 🙏

      I've played around with taking Ecamm on Primary computer over NDI to Ecamm on secondary computer and then virtual monitor into Discord on secondary computer. It works, although there is occasional lag.
      I'll like end up rigging an HDMI splitter so that my Teleprompter (Ecamm monitor) feed also goes into the secondary computer and use a Camlink capture card and just set that as the input cam in Discord.
      Will definitely add this to the video list though Andrew!

      @@TakeOneTech I look forward to seeing that video. These things are hard to get right. Your vids are very very helpful indeed. Thanks Alec 👍🏽

    Thank you! Have been looking for a solution to share my Mac Mini M1 screen to my 2019 iMac so I can stream and record tutorials facing away from my computer which has my nice setup as a background. I've tried so many other options such as a using it as a different screen with cables to no avail with my operating systems and didn't want to have to downgrade my iMac's OS because it has software I run on it that wont work new versions, nor do I want to wipe my iMac clean losing my apps, and put in time into reinstalling everything. Thanks again!

    Sorry i'm a little confused. In the first 3 mins did you at one point switch from using the Secondary computer to the primary computer?

    Wouldn’t best resolution and less latency be to use secondary Mac HDMI out into capture card into primary mac ?

    • @LeadWellWithAndrew
      @LeadWellWithAndrew 2 года назад

      That would be another option too. I’ve experimented with this in the past and it works well. NDI can glitchy. Like you, I’d love to know other peoples’ opinion too on this matter - thoughts?
      How would this work to get Ecamm feed into Discord on a secondary computer please?

    • @TakeOneTech
      @TakeOneTech  2 года назад

      You're right Rob... certainly better and less lag than the NDI option. I like the first screen sharing option though because it means I can see the secondary computer screen on my main screen at all times, even when not part of the Ecamm output.

      To your question about Discord, Andrew... I've played around with taking Ecamm on Primary computer over NDI to Ecamm on secondary computer and then virtual monitor into Discord on secondary computer. It works, although there is occasional lag.
      For this, I'll like end up rigging an HDMI splitter so that my Teleprompter (Ecamm monitor) feed also goes into the secondary computer and use a capture card as Rob suggested and just set that as the input cam in Discord.

    hi thanks. can you do one for a non techie ( but who lives on his laptop for work) I found it very confusing and throwing in too many extra pieces, so good for techie's not for non-techies. Hope to see one. tks

    Hi Alec, this is great. What about screen sharing from PC to Mac? Can this be done any other way than NDI?

    • @MarkWhitby
      @MarkWhitby 2 года назад

      Cath, you could use a HDMI out of the PC with HDMI to USB into the MAC as a camera input...

    • @TakeOneTech
      @TakeOneTech  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Cath... Mark beat me to it by nearly a week!! HDMI into a Camlink into the Mac will do it! That is infact arguably a better way than some of the ones that I mentioned in my video too... just that I prefer the wireless options for convenience and fewer wires!

      The app is called Pro Mouse.... here's a video I made about it: ruclips.net/video/USCVKafnLow/видео.html

    I'm trying to share a screen of someone else in a different part of the world, not my own computers, ffs.
