When you screen capture with your MAC, hold the CTRL button, then go back to KM and simply CMD+V paste the image (found image action) Great video where I've learned some tricks in KM, thanks.
Hey - wondering if you ever do consulting on how to best set up streamdeck for most productivity. Like me pay you to show you my workflow and see if there are ways to make it more efficient
Hi Bryant, just catching up with RUclips comments! Great to speak to you last week... hope all went well with implementing the automations we set up! For anyone else reading... yes, I offer consultations here: www.takeonetech.io/consultation
Fantastic tutorial as always Alec, really love these productivity lessons, thanks so much!! Quick question, I know you don't edit your vids, great idea, takes ages, but in Premiere Pro, they don't offer a way to add presets and effects with shortcuts, you have to choose them from the list and drag them onto the clips. Do you reckon it could be done with Keyboard Maestro? Thanks all the best
Technically Keyboard Maestro has the ability to perform 'click and drag' actions, so if there is something that you are doing manually, it could therefore potentially be simulated with Keyboard Maestro. However, the trick will be know exactly where to drag it to. Whilst you can 'click on found image' as demonstrated in the video (so you could just use an image of the name of the preset for example, wherever that may be... the end point of the drag (ie the clip) may not always be the same, nor would the name. So this may be a little tricky. If there was keyboard shortcut or menu item to simple 'apply to clip' that would be much simpler... either activate from the preset itself, or from the clip perhaps in an 'apply preset' menu... may not be feasible though. Feel free to join the discord here www.takeonetech.io/family and if you drop a screen recording of the workflow into the automation section, I'll happily take a look and let you know if/how it could be done with Keyboard Maestro.
Hi Alec, thanks for that answer, unfortunately there is no menu option to apply effect/preset, nor can you double click on them any more so I think it's going to be a bit difficult (personally I think it's ridiculous for a piece of software that is so popular like Premiere Pro in which you have to repeat effects over and over that you can't assign hotkeys to them). I'll join your discord anyway (I must say, I only use discord for midjourney at present so I'm no pro there). I think I will hire you on a call in the end as I'm having a lot of routing probs with my rodecaster Duo so expect to see me soon 😊
Thanks Alec, this was super helpful. I have a question if I could, I want to use a Dial to scroll up and/or down through a 'list' of different text strings and then use the 'press/tap' to choose whichever text I highlight. For example I have a list of Weeks: Wee-01
I have Week-01 through to Week-12 in a list and I want the dial to scroll down through the list and then when I get to the text (i.e Week-05) , press/tap on the dial and it will enter that line of text in whichever application I have open. I'd also like to know your recommendation of where I should add/save the list in the first place? I have access to Keyboard Maestro, Shortcuts, Text Expander, Clipboards, all the other things you recommend and I'm on a Mac so I have all those applications too, or Google Workspace. Where should I save such a list or can you save it in Keyboard Maestro itself?
Yes for the RUclips and Keynote icon packs in particular the icon pack includes the keyboard Maestro macro groups ready to import as well as the Stream Deck profiles setup linking to Keyboard maestro and of course the individual icon image files too. Just caught the replay. Did you mention that you have Keyboard Maestro macros available for import along with your icons? I'd be interested.
