This was a totally clear point to point explanation of the electrical path for a no crank diagnosis. I followed this perfectly up to the point where bypassing the neutral safety switch was concerned. In my case, I believe there is something wrong in the harness, as I couldn't complete the bypass. In other words, the ground wire running back to the starter relay may be bad. I was hoping to isolate the problem to the neutral safety switch, but when I couldn't bypass, my heart dropped!
Great, detailed, and easy to follow. Thank you, mine was buzzing and was turning the key a few times but the new relay did the trick. It is much appreciated.
Excellent explanation. These type of videos are always a great help. Thanks for taking the time. Troubleshooting my 2004 Accord, no accessories or lights with ignition to the position prior to start. Was having issues where car wouldn't start, replaced the ignition switch but not the entire switch assembly. Worked fine for a month and one time car just quit, got it restarted and another month later got the complete issue above. I'll T/S and see what I can find, thanks again for an excellent video.
My Honda (second car( has been sitting for about a week because wife said the battery died & won’t start.. I went to go crank the car & un behold…. Nothing.. was following your video checking and pulling the fuses & nothing was blown. When you were education on the safety which that only allows the car to start in park or neutral I checked to see if the car was actually in park….. IT WAS NOT…. Put it in park & the car started right up.. what would we do without our wives fellas 😂😂
when you pull the oem plastic fuse box cover off, you then see the fuses by your left foot pad, why are you removing the body door trim ? is that to exspose the upper half of fuse box you cant see ? which houses the relays your showing ? does the plastic trim surround the fuse box ? thanks for the help. very good video. good day.
Because the panel on the firewall or the kick panel should I say goes up underneath the door trim so you have to pop one end of it off so you can get it out
I want to thank you for a great informative video and detail it is great to have people who take the time and patience to show video like this Awsome Video man
Did you mean up to the right corner for the relay? I have 2007 honda accord and I want to see if swapping the relays will get it to turn on? Is the bottom right black one that says ST under it the starter relay? And the top right black one i can swap it out with correct?
Bought a used 2003 honda accord coupe and i noticed the TCS switch wont work with a number other things like the horn and crash sensor, i opened up all the trim and saw that previous owner did his own wiring, i noticed a couple of wires have been cut, and theirs some things that are disconnected
If there is a buzzing sound when I turn key on my accord, would it most likely be the relay? I have a 5 speed and the starter was replaced last year. It still buzzes a few times before it will start.
Hmm? I just watched another video and the starter relay that he replaced is located in the column by the switch. I wonder if there is a different setup?
Hey Lehew, I have a 2003 Honda Accord EX, The motor died while driving randomly. The starter sounds like its trying to start, but NO Crank whatsoever. Any ideas ?
My started was sluggish for a while and then wouldn't turn over at all. I replaced the battery and it still don't work. Was wondering if I used a jump wire across the two wires on the left of the starter relay socket, would it automatically bypass the neutral relay, ignition switch, and security alarm? I assume it would try to engage the started? If it didn't turn over then, it would be the starter/corroded wires and if it did, it would be the neutral switch, ignition, or something to do with the security switch? Is that a rational test or am I totally off the mark? Thanks!
Hi so i have a new crank no start the axel and the bal joint broke off and now it's not starting, good starter and battery i changed the relying but nothing and there seems to be no power to the wire that energizes the starter when i turn the switch,
2003 Accord EX. What do you think could possibly be starting the car without the key? There is no remote start installed that I’m aware of. I just bought the car. I’ve literally shut the car off, exited the car with key in hand, and the car starts right back up by itself.
Perfect video man thank you for showing me everything. I have the same car but currently my 50A ignition fuse blew. Any idea what could cause that before I try to replace it and it pop again?
Im having issues the starter wasn't working and I replaced it with new cables and new battery and a new switch and new relay. It just barely turned over and goes dead but yet it's fully charged everything is clean and tight. I don't know what to do any ideas. 2005 Honda Accord V6 3.0 I just don't get it any ideas
I have a 2006 TSX, manual trans. Starter does not crank or even click when turning key to the start position. Removed starter relay used a relay tester to verify proper operation. Jumped terminal 30 and 87 and starter spun up and car started when key turned to start. Verified no power to both legs of starter relay to close circuit. Is there a fuse for the starter relay? Thanks in advance for any help.
Did anyone have a problem where car wont start all of sudden. The key turns and no crank,no noise. And when pulling the key out the key green light flashes on the dash
So I got a Honda Accord everything turns on but when I go to turn the key to crank the car everything dies out like it never held a charge in the first place then when I turn the key of and turn it back on it’s like nothing was ever charged in the first place
Question, my son has a 2003 Accord automatic. The previous owner made it into a remote start which recently stopped working. I know there are extra wires for it near the hood release. Other than that the fob that activates it seems to work in that the other buttons for locking/unlocking the car etc all work. Any ideas on what might be wrong?
I changed my alternator and my battery and my car doesn't have power at all what can be ? When I started the vehicle with a new alternator the car stop running there is no power. the car is a honda accord ex 2005

You can check for continuity from the neutral safety switch pin to the pin at the relay

Thank you I had no idea about the clutch supplying the ground. Gives m more things to check and a starting point beyond the engine..
Video was very helpful thank you. But I'm unsure what's going on with my car right now. Its acting like theres no power to the starter?

@@shannontreadway thanks for the info, i drive the same car, 339,000 miles now.
Yes I also drive the same car LOL and I am having issues with starting but I have figured out it's the relay
I have the same exact car not sure if it a key issue or starter

If you use a jumper wire and jump the ignition relay would it power the starter to engage?

I’m not getting power to certain outlets on my driver side fusebox. Any idea why?
Is the light green wire you referred to on the harness the YEL/GRN or the WHT/GRN wire towards the chassis negative?

Try the relays. It would be the cheapest

Did you find out how to solve your no power to starter relay problem?
Very good video, speaker is very knowledgeable. I would like to ask him a question, don't know how to contact.
Good video, very informative. Thanks! 🤙🏽
Could the car think it's still in drive, and not want to start due to the neutral safety switch???
Did anyone have a problem where car wont start all of sudden. The key turns and no crank,no noise. And when pulling the key out the key green light flashes on the dash

Could be something with wiring or something probably got knocked loose or corroded
@@namelastname7915 there is a very small on/off toggle switch next to hood release. Someone must have caught it and deactivated. Working well now.
