Your numbers look good for your elevation. Running similar mods (minus your manifolds) - with a 91p tune, 3.31's, mine does about 6.16s (timed via datalog.) That is with over 300lbs of aftermarket skid plates on the truck. I have to launch in 4wd though to get that time (as you can see in my video link below).. 2wd launches don't stay hooked.
Now that the truck is geared to 4.10's, I'm a bit slower (it needs an additional shift now to get to 60mph.) But given the truck does a decent amount of rock crawling and towing (two opposing goals in many ways.. suspension-wise at least,) it was worth it for me. Those 3.31's drove me nuts. In fact I wish I did 4.56's honestly.. even 4.10's feel a bit long.
Here's a link to my run right before the regear.. this was several years ago. Truck has ~150k miles on it currently: ruclips.net/video/sypkflFW2LQ/видео.html
You need to do the pshh pshh mod though LOL (this was just temporary..): ruclips.net/video/3EPTK5OJ8_c/видео.html
Very nice! I had the vta mod for a bit. I felt like it caused some hesitation when come back onto throttle and I hated the extra attention on me haha
This is what my 2014 Tremor might need! Good review
Im interested to see these compared to bd diesel updated exhaust manifolds for the 3.5 those are the ones i just got because they have 11 stud locations as well as port matched and increased flow. The stock manifold studs arent enough for those turbos hanging on the back they always leak and snap and the 3.5 heads already have the bolt locations
Yeah unfortunately I bought these before the BD ones were released
@@NSQGarage oh okay !! Makes sense now
Similar mods on my end to fight this same condition. Self-made engine oil cooler (much larger than the FR version at about $400 less,) transmission cooler upgrade, re-geared to 4.10's, mishi intercooler, and had FR radiator but changed that to a mishi as well (which netted me a few additional degrees of cooling given its slightly larger design.) Also nixed the 'tow' tunes - all they were doing was driving peak boost up thus creating more heat. Power was great but the trade-off wasn't worth it (for towing anyway - I still run tunes when towing flat land or unloaded.) Truck is pretty well sorted now. Largest improvements by far came from the engine oil cooler and the radiator. Installed a lower temp thermostat as well but that didn't add any thermal capacity - just made it take a tad longer before it would hit 240 (prior to the mods.)
I think you have posted in the overheating thread before, right? Lol
@@NSQGarage haha yep!
@@yoster77 I have also considered ditching the tow tunes. But I thought some other users didn't see any difference. I am running 5 star. Who did your tune?
@@NSQGarage 5star as well. But end of day it doesn't really matter - all of them up the boost which is always going to make more heat. Sadly there's just no way around that. It's similar to why 'limp mode' cuts max boost to about 5psi, which allows the turbos and in turn the coolant and engine oil to start cooling down. Right now I run the 5star trans only tune when towing (with one modification - I have the radiator fans kick on earlier.) In that 0-60 video I posted I was running their 91 performance tune.
Surprisingly I've found the SCT canned 87 tow tune to be a good middle ground between stock and the 5star tow tune. I'll tow with that from time to time if it's not super hot outside. I'll also still use the 5star tow tune... But only during winter.
@@yoster77it's all about staying out of the boost. Manual mode whenever things get hairy lol
You have a tuner you can change your speedometer for your tires
I am aware. I was probably referring to the fact that larger tires lower engine rpm given a certain speed.
Did you not have to do any tune mods? Motoroso, who I bought the crp manifolds from, told me I needed to do a tune or the engine wouldn’t run properly… 🤷♂️
I didn't do any new tunes. I already have a tune on it, so maybe that helped. I'm no tuning expert, but I am not really sure what parameters they would change.
Videos on my channel of the bd diesel manifolds compared to stock. Subscribe!!
Did the truck feel any better? I suspect if you do down pipes and tune you will be floored!
It's definitely quick with those mods! I recorded 6 seconds 0-60 at 4300 ft of elevation. I think it would be closer to 5 seconds down at sea level
Why did you change to 0W-40??
Seemed to help the cam phaser rattle. Also, thicker at high temps and thinner a low temps.
So I hear the exhaust, sounds like the raptor dual exhaust. What else is done? I'm at 6.5 0-60 in my 14 supercrew with just a tune in Idaho. Mine also has 3.45 gearing and is the long wheelbase, so it's full dry weight is like 5700lbs.
It has an intake and exhaust as well. It currently has 3.73 gearing. But I also have 35 inch tires, so that hurts my 0-60. But I'm pretty sure my weight is close to just under 7,000 lbs as the truck sits with everything in it. That does seem high if yours is only 5700.
@@NSQGarage I keep wondering how people are ripping off 6s in stock trucks, but the DA is usually pretty bad here 🤣. On 89 octane, I still think mine does alright though. I need to get it back up on the dyno and do a proper tune.
With some further trans tuning I should be able to push mine faster, but I'm still familiarizing myself with the way it all works. They're quite complex compared to a 5 speed Ranger.
@@208Concepts ecu tuning is all black magic to me haha
@@NSQGarage based on your intro, I take it you're from around SLC? That's not too far from here 😁.
@@208Concepts yeah I'm from North Utah. Where are you at? Lol
Does it break those 35s lose with the traction control off?
I'm not sure to be honest. I think all of these 0-60s are tearing up my tires though. I have chunks missing from the outer lugs haha
@@NSQGarage careful. I was towing a dual axle trailer yesterday and one of the tires just shredded itself apart. It can happen.
An very dumb question and tbh should had looked into it before asking but that won't work for the 2.3 eco engine ? Again very dumb question lol thanks man
I mean you could probably do similar stuff on the 2.3. Not sure what they make for it though
@@NSQGarage MAP had an crome billet but stopped doing em since people didn't really buy em , sure if I try ,maybe they will do one or have one laying around lol
@@CoyoteDAworld yeah that would be a score if they did!
@@NSQGarage yeah for sure , if I ever get to it I’ll try to get it and show it 🤙🏼
